2022 marks Ashten's 25th year of bringing locally sourced, creatively prepared food to guests. Owner, Ashley Van Camp, and award winning chef, Matthew Hannon, work with area farmers daily to procure the best that the Sandhills and North Carolina have to offer. We have dined at Ashtens twice in the last three weeks and it has been exceptional. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate and the specials interesting and appealing. Last night I had the house salad with salmon. It was fresh and delicious and the portion of salmon was very generous. My husband had the tuna special with two fruit sauces that he said was delicious. He had the special bourbon cocktail which he thoroughly enjoyed. We will always select Ashtens as our first choice for dining out in Southern Pines.

We sat outside on a beautiful Carolina spring evening with three of our good friends. Setting was great- could see the activity going by but still hold an easy conversation. Our waiter Jonah was fantastic. Very attentive, prompt, excellent knowledge of the menu and specials. Their new bartender knocked our cocktails out of the park. Everything we ate, from yellow-fin tartare appetizer to salads to entrees to desert was perfectly prepared and beautifully plated. Ashten's is always one of our favorite places to dine in Southern Pines and last night only reinforced this opinion.

A wonderful experience for my wife and I on our 2nd anniversary. The food was great, the server was knowledgeable, polite, and did a great job. The bar drink I had was absolutely wonderful. I order the NY strip and it was cooked perfectly my wife had the Duck and loved it! It was great definitely somewhere we will visit again.

First time dining here. Food and service were excellent. Dining area where we were is a tad dark and cramped (for us) but definitely not a big issue. We only experienced the front section so I don't know what the rest of the dining area is like. We will definitely give them another go in the future.

The fish dishes were amazing. Well cooked and flavorful. The burgers where somewhat bland and not worth the price. Staff is amazing and the pub side has a wonderful ambience.

Ashten's is a great spot to enjoy a cocktail, small plates or high quality meal. We started with a couple of cocktails, I had a Manhattan and my. wife had a Stinky Cat (dirty martini) - both were excellent. We had a nice artichoke appetizer, though didn't realize it was deep fried until it arrived at our table. It was tasty, but would have ordered something else, had we knows it was deep fried. My wife had a burger which was very good, and I had the fish special - Tile Fish, which was excellent. Service was OK -- the server didn't know much about the menu, and I never got my wine which I ordered to have with my entree. Overall, very good and we will visit again.

In general, this establishment appears to be all show and little substance. The restaurant boasts an attractive decor and pleasant ambiance with comfortable seating and elegant tables, albeit with subdued lighting and no discernible background music. However, the standout flaw was the abysmal service. Our server was unresponsive, lacking in personality, and failed to enhance our dining experience. The food was decent overall, with my steak being slightly overpriced for the establishment's price range, and the burger was satisfactory, though slightly over-charred. My sister enjoyed her salmon, though. We capped off our meal with the cookies and creme dessert, which was delectable. In summary, while there are some positives, there are better options nearby, and we are unlikely to revisit this place.

I have dined at Ashtens several times. I make a point to make a reservation whenever I am passing through Southern Pines and the vicinity. The food, service and atmosphere are outstanding. This has become one of favorite dining places, and is one of the many interesting things that SP has to offer.

I love Ashton’s! Tonight we enjoyed the homemade soup (always a delight), roasted chicken, verlasso salmon, and finished with freshly baked cookies with ice cream. My guests were equally pleased and impressed. A very enjoyable evening.

Ashten’s has become our favorite date night spot. The main dining room is a tad stuffy but the bar has a great casual ambience. Our server was Madison and she did an A+ job - very knowledgeable and prompt and friendly. Food as always was excellent. I often have the duck and I have never had duck as well prepared as they prepare it at Ashten’s. They always have great special dinners and their desserts are excellent. Whenever we have out of town guests we take them to Ashten’s.

We've been to Ashtens many times because we live it so! Skyler was our server in the Bar area last night and she was absolutely delightful! We shared a bottle of wine and had the salmon, duck and NY strip. We all three felt our meals were perfect! Ashtens is, quite honestly, one of the most consistently delicious places in the area - we are never disappointed. We'll be back for sure!

The food was terrific and there were many options including a couple nice dishes for my vegan family. The cocktails were well done And professionally prepared. The service can be a little quick so if you’re not in a hurry I would pace the ordering of each course. We already made reservations for next week!

Ashten's is one of my favorite local restaurants and their Sunday Suppers are an incredible deal. If they offered a greater variety of entrees, I'd go more frequently but who wants meatloaf every other week?
