EVERY MONDAY NIGHT --- 1/2 price bottles of wine
We love food. We love wine. We love racing. So we named Ascari Enoteca after one of our heroes, 1950's Italian racing legend, Alberto Ascari. He was as famous for his appetite for food and wine as he was for his talent for racing, earning him the nickname "ciccio" – Italian for 'chubby'. Here you'll find homemade pastas made fresh in house every single day, plus a unique wine list.
Ascari has been awarded one of Canada's Neighbourhood Gems by OpenTable and Best Italian Restaurant in Now Magazine. We look forward to hosting you!

Ascari Enoteca Ratings and Reviews
ASCARI offers as authentic a menu as I can remember but uses them in creative new fashion. The carpaccio is wonderful as are the aranccini, but the star is their pasta dish. rare is it to find rabbit on the menu in this city and their homemade pappardelle with rabbit, cabbage and in a deglazed white wine sauce was excellent, same with the agnolotti stuffed with buffalo mozzarella, lemon, summer grean beans - such unique flavour combinations....the place hops on Monday nights because it's HALF PRICE BOTTLE NIGHT, a well thought out wine list with unique and rare Italian wines from all over the country....great congenial service , and a non's kitchen feeling that permeates the room
The food was amazing. Full stop.
The ambience was great, the servers were very attentive and the wine selection was generous.
As a small recommendation, I would suggest adding some full bodied reds to the wine selection (my personal favourites).
Overall, the evening was magical.
Casual get-together coincided with 1/2 price wine, so we were able to get a very nice bottle at regular spend. It's a bit disconcerting to be told that you have to leave at 8:30 p.m. when you are still spending money, but I guess that's the price you pay for 1/2 price wine. Maybe that's why I thought the service was just good.
This was our second visit to this restaurant. The dishes are creative and simply delicious. The restaurant is small and a little cramped and noisy. They have a good selection of wines and the service is friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Everything about this neighbourhood gem is outstanding - food, service and ambience. We went on a Monday night and it was packed, for good reason. It's not too often that you can go somewhere and know that the service and food will consistently be great; but it is here.
Researched Ascari online and was pleasantly surprised to find that they make their own pasta daily. We started with olives, bread, and rice balls. All were tasty, but nothing notable. The lamb pasta was delicious, as was the ricotta agnolotti. We were too full for dessert. While I was not familiar with any of the red wines on the list, our server was great at recommending a bottle that we enjoyed. I would definitely return for another meal.
This was our first visit after passing by many times and we sure are happy we decided to make reservations! The restaurant is quite small, but this ensures that service is impeccable! The service is phenomenal - our server was endearing and knowledgeable and really made the experience for us. We tried the chicken liver mousse, the fried broccolini and the salumi appetizers. The mousse and broccolini were STANDOUTS that should not be missed. We also ate the carbonara which I would tentatively call the best in the city. Do not miss this place. It surely is a neighbourhood gem!
This was our first trip to Ascarinand to celebrate my husbands birthday and we most definitely were not disappointed. We shared a pate dish which was so delicious it was like having a dessert. We followed that with the Carbonara and it was impeccable!
Our server Ryan recommended a delicious bottle of wine and he was so incredibly friendly.
We can't wait to go back event though it is quite the trek from our home. Worth the trip!!
Food was great however we were really disappointed in the wine. I tried 4 different reds and all were weak and overpriced in comparison to what's on the market. Service was ok, took a long time to order our meal, once we did however the food was served quite quickly.
Took my girlfriend for her birthday and we had an amazing experience. The servers where attentive but also reserved in letting us spend the time together. Very clean and very tasty and thought provoking dishes.
Best experience we have had at a restaurant in a long time. Rob F
Had a wonderful time at our first visit to Ascari Enoteca. I had indicated that we were there for an anniversary dinner, and our thoughtful server brought us each a glass of sparkling to start off our dinner. The food was excellent - we had the arancini and shaved brussels to start, followed by the Agnolotti and the Tagliatelle con Agnello (so delicious!). Our server was extremely attentive and helped make our anniversary dinner that much more wonderful.
