Asador restaurant, created by Celebrity Chef Dean James Max, focuses on sustaining modern farm to fire cuisine merging influences that stem from our local Texas purveyors, mixed with the food combinations of North and South America and based on open fire cooking.

Our cuisine is the merger from influences that stem from our local Texas purveyors, to the flavors of North and South America and based on open flame cooking. We are a casual restaurant that strives to provide fine dining service, incredibly fresh food, and reasonable prices.

Our modernism is reflected in many different aspects such as our focus on all fresh products made in house with no fillers or preservatives. We buy all natural meats and poultry, sustainable seafood, and as much locally fresh produce as possible.

Very good food, but definitely a convention center hotel restaurant. We thought our mussels were probably the best we have ever had - a great combination of seasoning for the broth, and the mussels themselves were plump and perfectly cooked. The shrimp and grits were fantastic also if you like to actually taste both the grits and shrimp - they were not soaked in cheese/butter like some places. My cioppino was very good but basically just a collection of tasty shell fish and fish - not a lot of soup/stew to go with it. Next time I will get the tomahawk pork chop that I saw go to another table - it looked amazing!
The only negative to the restaurant is how obvious it was we were next door to a convention center in a hotel. Almost everyone in the restaurant was from the same convention and knew each other, so the environment was more of a loud dinner party for them.

Great food and great service! I proposed to my girlfriend before dinner and we had a great meal here. Our waiter gave us dessert on the house and even sent a bottle of champagne to our room afterwards. Would definitely go back

My family went for Thanksgiving. The decor was Texas modern but warm and we felt totally at home. Food was fresh and very good. We loved the Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. The Thanksgiving special was delicious. The beef tenderloin was perfectly prepared. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating. Overall a great experience for enjoying a holiday away from home. The only criticism for me was there were no dessert wines available.

Asador was a lovely surprise. Hosted a business dinner with a number business colleagues including a couple of foodies. Menu was stocked with attractive options with a notable farm to fire flavor. Started with an excellent cheese and charcuterie board and moved on to entrees including a tomahawk pork chop, several steaks, and an outstanding roast chicken breast. Several bottles of a pleasant Tempranillo later, we sampled multiple dessert all of which were delicious. Our server was attentive and engaged. Overall a great meal in an unexpected spot.

is always very kind.
