Asado Ratings and Reviews
Husband’s steak was overcooked, and sweet potatoes were undercooked. It’s sad when you go to a STEAK house and they don’t make sure their steak is cooked how the customer wants it. Argentineans are known for loving their steak, so it’s a shame to go to an Argentinean steakhouse in the states and not have good steak!
Regular customer for years and usually love it. But this time cane in for a late valentines dinner. Seated next to a large group that was VERY loud during our entire visit. Room was very loud and overheated. Swordfish was cooked properly but bland and the duck was cooked properly but very little seasoning present and the skin was limp rather than slightly crispy as I requested. My guest was not impressed after I had mentioned this is my favorite restaurant. I’ll be back hoping for my usual good experience.
Everything was good, but tables are too small to fit a order for two. We had to ask for the candle in the middle of the table to be taken away because space was so tight. You guys need to invest on bigger tables especially for two people. We did like 2-3 orders and our table got packed that’s not including the drinks that take space. Food was great, but my Chicken Picata had little seasoining. Next time I will go for the steaks that have more flavor and seasoning. Other than that everything was good.
We had dinner on Valentines Day, prior to going to a concert.
Reservations were easy.
It was very busy as could be expected.
Valet parking was nice.
It was very warm inside. Actually hot.
A little too much noise to be "romantic" but it's not all that hard to tune out the rest of the world.
My steak was excellent, my wife's vegie meal not so excellent (but it was vegie - it can't be great if it's not carnivore!!!).
Service was excellent.
We will return. Probably not on a busy night like Valentines Day.
Some of the window seats are a little close together. I felt like I was a part of the date of the couple next to us. If you don't eat their regularly, it's hard to understand what you are ordering on the menu. But overall, the food was excellent and the service was good.
Thoroughly enjoyed the happy hour starters! Great flavors and great values! The wait staff is very professional and tries to anticipate your every need without hovering! Well trained and still personable! We salute the Chef! Keep it up...a small part of Argentina in 'lil old Tacoma!
My experience at Asado was good, I would rate it as 3.5 out of 5. I visited with a friend on her birthday, on a Tuesday evening. Our reservation was for 7p, but due to traffic on I-5 we were late. Staff was understanding and held our table until 7:15, when we arrived. Overall, food was good and service was great. Ambience was little loud, making it difficult to have a conversation across the table without raising your voice. Their bread and cheese were good, and the Caesar-salad for an entree was delicious. Our main course arrived shortly after we finished the entree, and staff visited our table frequently. After the meal, we opted for ice-cream and it was amazing. Overall, good experience and I would revisit, but only during happy hour.
This was our second visit and it was outstanding once more. The meat is the star here, cooked over an open mesquite fire. The sides complement the entrees nicely. I had the sirloin and my partner had the mixed grill. Everything was done to perfection.
We wrapped it up with crème brulee . Perfect.
This evening the team seemed a bit off. Cocktails weren’t great (mixed poorly). The steak was dry and a bit charred on one side. It was a shame because it was New Years Eve. This place has been amazing in the past but it seemed as though they let the ‘A’ take the night off.
I was very disappointed that we had to wait for 20 minutes when we were on time for our OpenTable reservation with a minute to spare.
After reading Yelp reviews it seems apparent that the restaurant’s own success is impeding it’s continuing progress. Unless they address this they will fail.
Food was good, ambiance fair average, service okay, but attentive — but being told three or four times to go to the bar when it was clear that our reservation was for 8 pm was amateur.
As usual the food and service were exceptional, however I have to comment that for a steak restaurant our steak knives were so dull we could barely cut the steak. We requested new ones from our server and they were equally was dull. This was my boyfriend's first time here and he ordered the 12 oz lomo at $49. When he was having to saw and pulverize the meat just to get a bit it definitely left an undesirable impression in his mind. We will be back but I hope they take some time to sharpen their utensils.
While the food was excellent the service was abizmal! I found myself resentful of even the 15% tip that I left.
Details: We arrived around 7pm Christmas eve to celebrate my sweeties birthday. We were greeted and seated right away. Things went down hill from there. We waited a bit longer than ideal, 5-7 minutes before we were given water and bread. We chose our food and wine and commented to each other about the time and hoped that we weren't forgotten. We then waited a full 20 minutes more for the server to return and have our wine and food order taken, a full 30 minutes after we were seated. Conversation had become focused on the poor service, with comments about "at least we should have our wine". Our server offered no explanation or apology for the delay.
When mentioning this the next day, to family members who have worked in fine restaurants, they indicated that it was indeed extremely poor service and wouldn't be acceptable on their watch.
The service was extremely slow. For a dinner for 3 with no apps or dessert it took 3 hours. The price was way too high for the quality and flavor of the food. I paid $49 for a steak, side salad and mashed potatoes, and the potatoes had uncooked lumps of potato in them. My mom's mixed grill was overcooked and dry and the broccolini was roasted to the point of being woody and fibrous. Overall disappointing. I paid over $200 for a mediocre experience. I don't think it should cost more just because a bearded dude with tattoos and gauged ears cooked the food, or that the restaurant is in a super tiny suite in an old building. That's not trendy, it's pretentious and douchey.
