We were fortunate to have Ben serving us! He was fantastic. The food is consistently amazing. We both had steaks and they are probably the best tasting cuts I've ever had. For dessert we went with the chocolate torta. Asado is our specie occasion favorite but we need to go more often - isn't the 2nd Tuesday a special occasion? How about payday?
Great food and service, love this place especially for lunch. Wish it was open on the weekends for lunch!
Made reservations online about :15 min ahead on a Sunday evening. We got in just fine. Arrival was a little akward because even with reservations (short notice I know) no one was even working on figuring out a table. After sitting down, the waitress immediately asked for our drink order (which was not ready due to the size of the wine list, and the Sommelier completely ignored us) and them disappeared for :15. That turned into the theme for the evening. :15 between visits, no matter what. Other than the odd delays, dinner was good, the staff was friendly, and the evening was enjoyable. I'd definately recommend eating there. (Just have your drink order ready when you arrive)
The service was excellent! Wine list impressive and the bread/oil & vinegar brought immediately was very very tasty! My friend and I ordered the Flat Iron Steak and either it was grisly or the knives needed sharpening! Served with purple mashed potato which was different and good. We also had a prawn appetizer to share and it was excellent. Also a plus was the valet parking right outside the door for a reasonable $5.
Delicious meat in the "Mixed Grill". First time there. Going again, soon!!
Our dinner at Asado was delicious! The hangar steak was perfectly seasoned, the chimichurri was outstanding! The wait staff was very attentive. Our experience at Asado Saturday evening was perfect in every way!
The entrees at our table were the lamb shank, piccata de pollo, pescado del mercado (Hawaiian shortbill spearfish this day), and the pork chop off the daily special menu. They were all excellent. But even more incredible were the side dishes that came with the entrees. The butter beans, the poblano polenta, the quinoa, the purple mashed potatoes were as tasty as the rest of the dish.
The service was friendly and efficient and our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu .
Server was outstanding and the food was fabulous! I have visited this place several times now and each time the experience has been top notch! Definitly will return!
We arrived with a reservation on a Tuesday night mid summer. Not the romantic cozy table with a view but what a menu! My husband is a foodie and he was knocked out by his habanero martini and ribeye steak. I loved the white wine sangria (very exotic) and my mixed grill entree. Most amazing dish: polenta with cheese. Over the top.
The service was certainly adequate. No gluten free anything but I got by. The manager is especially charismatic and I very much enjoyed his kindly comments and his eye on our table. They know what they are doing at Asado and we will return. This place is noise and hopping, lots of energy. We had a lot of fun.
Great food and outstanding service with a smile. Will be back again.
Not my 1st visit, but this was not as enjoyable as before. The starters and desserts were the usual excellent and my husbands steak was good, unfortunately my chicken was not so great this time - kinda tasteless and not well seasoned. We sat at a table for 2 this time, it was way too cramped and we were close enough to hear our neighbors conversation- a no no. A new barman, not so great should have stuck to wine. $140 of hard earned cash, big disappointment oh and did I mention the crying toddler who was nt with me because my kids were with a sitter. Should have went to Masa for way,way less which is also owned by them. sorry not great this time
Consistently great steaks and excellent mixed drinks.
It was very good. Food was great and so was the service. Make reservations it gets pretty busy. The only negative thing I would say was it is a little pricey.
This place was very good, we will be back.
Not knowing anything about the restaurant we were little skeptical when we made the reservation but it was GREAT! We'd go back in a heartbeat! GREAT Argentinian food and superb service. This was a surprise party for my boss and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Don't miss the opportunity to dine there.
I was visiting overnight and checked out a couple of reviews. This was a real find. Had the clams and chorizo for a starter. Best ever tasted. Spicy and brothy with just enough clams. Lomillo medium rare with poblano chile polenta was cooked perfectly
Really good wine list and wines by the glass
Check it, you'll like it
I took my friend there for her 65th birthday. The food was excellent the staff was excellent. It is a great Argentine food.
excellent service, food and wine. My guests from out of town were very impressed. Probably be back for birthdays and anniversary.
My girlfriend and I came to Asado's for my birthday dinner. Neither of us had eaten here before, but had high expectations based on their reputation and online menu. Let me tell you, those expectations were way surpassed! The staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and friendly. The ambiance was high class yet comfortable and inviting. And the food? Oh jeeze. Everything we had - appetizers, starter salads, entrees, even the free bread - was absolutely wonderful. When our entrees were set down the diners next to us even asked what we had ordered because it looked so good. This is a great place for a casual lunch, after work drink, or fancier dinner. The food is amazing and the service exquisite. I will definitely come back!
We took some friends out for a birthday dinner and the food was amazing. Between the 4 of us we had 2 steaks, chicken and fish and all were really wonderful in flavor and presentation and our service was great.
Any time we are taking a trip to Tacoma, we make sure to leave time for Asado. Wonderful menu, comfortable and fun dining and lounge area, and very nice staff. Everyone always talks about the meat, but there are plenty of meat-free and seafood items to keep us all happy. The quinoa-squash-cheese empanadas are fabulous, and the ceviche with plantain chips is wonderful to share (even makes an entree for one). Cocktails are wonderful, and a good wine list (with reasonable pricing) helps round out the meal.
Great for just an old fashion getaway!
I cannot say enough good things about Asados. We got a wonderful red blend wine from Argentina. Came with an affordable price of $23.00. We had the chorizo empanada appetizer which was a perfect way to start our meal. Flakey shell filled with delicious chorizo and corn with other seasonings. Next we had a mixed green salad with a unique citrus dressing that was perfect for a summer evening. My main meal was the Lomo steak with a rosemary Demi. Cooked exactly as ordered. I had the delicious lentils for my side dish and my husband had the polenta. Both hard to choose because they are equally amazing.
I enjoyed the somewhat noisy atmosphere, but my husband did not. Our two person table was a bit close to the couple next to us.
As always the service, experience & entire dinner was outstanding. You simply can't get a better steak or meal anywhere else! We love ASADOS & always recommend to our friends & family! We also love Hannah & Kate! They are fabulous servers, people & just great gals! We have gone to Asados for years & always love to see both ladies! Another special thank you to Tazo in the kitchen!! Thanks again for being such a great resturant!
We have been to Asado a number of times....We invited out of town guests this time and the food was poor at best. It sat up on the pass thru window too long and was over cooked. There were several large parties in at the same time and I believe the kitchen staff was over ran.
Argentinians know their meat! And this restaurant ought to know their menu. There is a lamb dish you can buy - but there's only 4 per night. So while the waiter is enticingly describing the attributes of the delicacy my friend selected, some Clown at another table orders the last one. So sir, can I now interest you in any LESS APPEALING CHOICES? Please also don't offer me the $100 bottle of wine first. Maybe some sort of range of prices and selections? The food was nice, but lessened in impact by the bad taste in our mouths.
Great food and wine list. Servers very helpful and real.
My husband and I frequently eat out; we probably spend at least $500.00 doing so. I was really disappointed in Asado after reading so many glowing reviews. The starters were awful: The fried calamari was soggy and the sauces were already separating, the Bacon wrapped prawns were absent flavor and heat. My main course was the best part of the meal, the scallops were cooked lovely and the polenta was yummy. My husband was not so lucky, his chicken fettuccine was really badly done, the chicken was scorched and the sauce was gross (he had it boxed, but decided to leave it on the table). The crepe dessert with pistachio ice-cream was quite yummy. None of this was worth a $80.00 check! We were disappointed.
Asado never fails to treat us to an exquisite dinner with exceptional service. We went to dinner with 2 other couples this time who had never been to Asado - let's just say they will definitely be coming back and they thanked us several times for introducing them to this restaurant. Our sever was very attentive without being overbearing - no one ever had a glass less than 1/2 full and food came at perfect intervals. Appetizers were excellent and dinner was even better! Thank you for another great dining experience Asado crew.
Great food and not too expensive
My wife and I keep on coming back. The people there are fantastic &, the food is fantastic The wine list has a lot of variety, love the malbecs'. You can't go wrong but be sure to make reservations on the weekends.
I have 4 kids and this place is not kid friendly with their menu. For adults, the steak that my husband and I had was full of flavor and delicious. The sangria was a bit bitter. The dessert was not worth what they charge.
It is a small resteraunt with very good food. They also have a well stocked bar.
Delicious seasoning from Argentina and they know meat.
Get the lamb shanks if you can.
They know how to make a margarita "up" with real juice which is rare in this town for some reason. Using margarita mix is a no-no.
My meal was excellent. My partner's steak was gristly otherwise they would get 5 stars for the food.
Service seemed hit or miss; our server was generally attentive, but it took a while to figure out who she was as we were juggled through a few at the beginning. Steak was great. Shoestring fries were an over-fried, over-salted mess that I would be embarrassed to serve in my house and therefore could not understand how the restaurant could plate and serve. They quickly replaced with the tasty polenta upon request, which was classy. Felt I had to shout to members of the party across the table to be heard due to music levels.
We have dined @ Asado's many times; this meal was the best to date. We started w/ a wedge salad. The true star was the "special" tenderloin medallions. My husband & I split it-trying to cut back on having big meals (thus the salad beforehand). The special came w/ purple potato shoestring fries; we opted for the polenta which is to die for. The beef medallions had a demi-glaze on top which ran onto the plate-absolute heaven w/ the polenta. We both savored each & every bite. We suggested they add this to their regular menu & REALLY hope they do! We also had a great bottle of wine 'For a Song'...Columbia Valley red....90% merlot, 7% syrah, & 3% petit verdot (I think I got those #'s right). We will be looking for this wine to enjoy at home.
My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary at Asado and we were greeted with the prompt valet. Street parking is readily available as well. I had mad online reservations and our table was immediately available. After we were sat down, we were immediately greeted with ice water and bread. The waitress was amazingly friendly, attentive and genuinely interested in our comfort. We had a few questions about the menu and she was very knowledgeable about ingredients and how dishes were prepared. She helped us decide on at Bruscheta steak appetizer. Balsalmic drizzled toast rounds, tomato/onion salsa, goat cheese and Harrissa spiced steak tips-absolutely to die for!! We both ordered different steaks - which were cooked to perfection.
This place is a little pricy so I wouldn't make this a frequent out to eat place
But that being said, it is a great place to celebrate special occasions!
Never had a bad meal. The food is always consistent and excellent. Great wines. By far my favorite restaurant.
