Excellent food
IMO, it’s almost always the most tender and delicious beef entrees in town.
The prime top sirlon was great.
Overall very good. A little cramped and very loud. Would definitely come back.
It was my 1st time at Asado during Tacoma’s Restaurant’s week. I figured I would stop in and eat something new. The food was delicious, definitely worth coming back. But the service was decent I don’t feel like my waiter was very engaged with me or the day. My water cup was empty for awhile and it took him awhile to ask me about the another cocktail. I don’t recall him ever asking how was the food, which was I think he was uninterested. But I will stop in again and eat delicious empanadas!
service was outstanding and every course was a treat
we will be back!
Every item is overpriced even though very tasty. The noise level is incredibly high, so much so, I couldn’t hear the person next to or across from me or the server. There were no gluten/dairy free desert options. This was our second visit hoping it would be a better experience than the first, but was even more disappointed. Will most likely not return.
My husband, adult son and I went to Asado for a celebratory dinner Friday night and had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend Asado for drinks, appetizers and a scrumptious dinner. Many thanks to our server for his suggestions and guidance. On top of helping us make tasty choices, he highlighted foods that were dairy-free to help me make my decisions. We enjoyed the lamb shank with butter beans, the combination plate with skirt steak, prawns and chorizo, and the flank steak. We are sure to return for a full dinner soon and my husband and I may go back sometime to make a light meal of the ceviche with plantains that we enjoyed Friday as an appetizer.
The atmosphere is very energetic and reservations on a Friday night are a must. We also appreciate that they have valet parking available for $5, although we lucked out and found parking on a side street.
My husband and I always come for birthdays and it’s the perfect place for a special occasion! The food is so amazing, have never been disappointed. Highly recommend for a date night! Must make a reservation. Great place!
Do not live in Tacoma, but this is the third time I have come here. The food/ drink is superb. Service is fast and friendly. A great deal for your dollar.
Year after year. Time after time. This place is flawless. These people should open a school on how to manage a restaurant. Thanks again.
Birthday. Chicken was a bit dry.
Great food and service! A little loud.
Did not like the lamb it had a very weird taste to it and didn’t sit well with my stomach. Everything else was a great experience just wish I had ordered some thing else.
Knowledgeable and attentive staff, great food, highly recommend.
We always enjoy Asado, but were sad to see that the previously admirable wine list had been reduced since our last visit. Understandable, but nonetheless a bummer. The current wine list is still quite good, if simplified. The dishes—calamari, octopus, salads, veggie relleno, wagyu special—were all well prepared, well served. My wagyu had a significant vein of fat that accounted for a good eighth of the portion, but the flavor was rich as expected.
This is a destination restaurant for sure. South American steaks and seafood. As good as el gaucho .... correction ... better. Love the smells, the steaks, and fresh fish. 4 people, 1 seabass, and top steaks.... and drinks.... $300. Would have been 600 at Goucho or met grill. As good or better food.
Always delicious. Go for the taste is Asado if you can!
A-1, first class service, great food, & amazing drinks! The atmosphere is charming too. Give em a try!!
We had reservations for 2 and got crammed in a corner by a very hot fireplace. My shoulder was actually resting against it we were so close. We were told we could have it turned off but then the server left before we could take her up on it. Drinks took about 15-20 minutes. We ordered a steak and it didn't really taste like anything. Not a horrible experience but not whats expected for the price tag. Bummer.
Food was spectacular and the service was professional & friendly
No matter what the occasion Asado is a perfect choice.
Unexpected great find on Trip Advisor as we drove into town looking for a good late-night dining option. Not inexpensive but very well-prepared and flavorful food across the board. Ben provided extremely professional, well-informed, timely and friendly service. Very pleasant casual atmosphere. Will certainly return!
Birthday dinner
We loved the relaxed feel of Asado. We have put this on our list to return to try more dishes. The Wagyu short ribs and poblano polenta was amazing! Our waiter provided excellent service and made us feel at home. The desert topped the end of the night. Thank you. We will be back.
The best authentic, meat and wine lovers restaurant in Greater South Seattle area!!! Service is great, staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Love this place and if I could, I would dine there every evening!
We took an out of town friend here, and Im so glad we did! The interior is cozy but the manage to make it feel that theres ample room. Lovely decorations inside. We had a very nice server, thank you Sarah! Very knowledgeable about the menu. Lucky for us they had just gotten in Kagoshima Wagyu. We ordered that and whst a treat! I can honestly say i have never had a steak that good. It was amazing! But everything we had was excellent. They have a plantain/bread pudding tupe of dessert that is frankly impossible to describe, all i can say is get it!! We will definately be back, i loved everything about this place!!
The service was outstanding. We didn’t feel rushed or neglected, just the right amount of attention
One of our favorite spots
Awesome as usual
We visited Asado on our anniversary. Our waiter, Ben, was awesome. My steak was over done but tasty, so I didn’t complain.
Celebrating our daughter's birthday with fabulous, creative food choices! Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and ingredients, important to us since one of us has to avoid gluten. Very fun atmosphere!
This was our 2nd time to Asado and we enjoyed a fabulous meal. The menu is creative with something for everyone. The food is well season and cooked to perfection. The meat on the short ribs was so tender, did ont need a knife to cut. We were celebrating my father's 79th birthday and when the waiter heard that he brought the dessert menu and told us his dessert was on the house. He ordered the donuts which came out hot out of the fryer, dipped in cinnamon sugar with two different dipping sauces. They were amazing! Will definitely return!
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We both ordered the beef short ribs (the server recommended them). The flavor was good but my cut of meat was so marbled with an excessive amount of fat that it made the texture mushy.
We are long time diners at Asado. Part of why we choose to go there for special occasions and to entertain is the consistent quality. Unfortunately this time we were very disappointed in our meal. Service etc was good but both my husband and I felt the food was very below par and for a $50 steak his was plain and did not come with all of the toppings it usually does. My stuffed chicken Serrano was not even stuffed at all and did not come with the glaze it normally does.
I’m sure we will try again but for a meal costing over $200.00 we expect excellence.
Asado is still holding a top spot in Tacoma. I am always confident that my meal will be good and trust that I will not be disapointed when I need to entertain friends, clients or associates.
I had left a message with Open Table and had asked for a Birthday Surprise.
Didn't happen
Never Disappoints!
We came for a friend's birthday lunch. The ceviche appetizer was fantastic and all of our entrees were flavorful and the portions were nice sized. We are going back in a couple of weeks to celebrate another birthday... can't wait!
Wife’s birthday with friends
Great food and service. Love the workers here and the place.
The service was great, considerate of our having discussions on business, yet extremely friendly and helpful with the menu as it was our first time there. The cervichie was wonderful, but more then two people could eat, but we did our best. The steak skewers were also great, but again more then we could eat after the cervichie. We will be back as we enjoyed the place.
