Great food and friendly service, love the outdoor patio and BYOB.
Food was good but the service was disappointing. It was extremely hot yesterday and we were seated inside where it was uncomfortably warm. When we looked up, we could see the air-conditioning vent was closed and we politely asked our server if he could open it. First he tried to tell us it wasn't closed when it was clearly shut and then asked us how we expected him to open it. We were happy to help but it required a stool or stick because it was above our height and once they got that, it was opened in seconds.
There wasn't any need for a poor and unfriendly attitude which makes or breaks your experience at any restaurant. He was not pleasant throughout our meal and there wasn't any cause for an attitude. It negatively impacted our experience.
Great food as always. Service soso at best. The only real criticism is your bread is the worst! Given how good the rest of your food is you should be ashamed to be serving the bread you do. It might help to warm it up or do something it’s just bad.
Great food & service. Air conditioning could have been a little colder.
There were 4 in our party & each of us thought the food was great!
Dining room was somewhat very hot. Noise was terrible. People have no respect towards each other’s anymore.
We go because the food is excellent and prices are reasonable. We’d visit more often, but the noise makes it an average experience.
Great experience every time!!
Birthday celebration dinner, food was excellent - capped off a great day :)
Delicious food and great service
Our first time to Arugula. Four friends were celebrating a birthday for lunch. The atmosphere is very pleasing. We were greeted by pleasant staff that us feel they were happy for us to be there. We started with a smoked mozzarella and mushroom appetizer as well as the salad special for the day a farrow and arugula salad with candied beets. Both were delicious! I ordered the Chicken Figaro, a lovely dish of pounded chicken breast with a topping of fresh tomatoes, artichoke, roasted red pepper, arugula and seasoning. The other dishes ordered were a special for the day of chicken saltimbocca with pasta, and salmon served over a bed of broccoli rabe. Every plate was empty! Although full of flavor the dishes were light. For dessert we split a lemon mascarpone cake that was heavenly, and a wonderful lemon tart.
We had a relaxed lunch and were not made to feel rushed. We all decided we would definitely be back again!
As usual, excellent. Weather did not cooperate, but we were able to move inside. Meals were delicious.
Everything was wonderful - excellent service, the food was great - when the meal was over it took forever to get the check - why don't restaurants want to get paid? I recommend greatly - just ask for the check when you order dessert
Note - no disabled access to the front of the restaurant
Very nice meal with great service.
Great food, great service in a friendly, cozy atmosphere.
Quickly becoming a family favorite!
Great food and service! We go twice a month, at least!!!
Consistently good food. Wait service seems inexperienced but for lunch everything was fine.
Wedding Anniversary (3)
Wonderful time and great food and service. We really enjoyed it all. Thank you!
Food was delicious. Ate on the outside patio. Wait staff is always pleasant and professional.
Went on a Wednesday night, so not exactly a peak day and service was so slow. They seemed to have enough wait staff for the amount of people, so I'm guessing the issue was back of house. Took over an hour to get to entrees, and when they arrived they were just warm enough to be appreciated. The food was as good as always, but the wait really detracts from the experience.
Service was attentive but a little slow. Food was excellent and the outdoor patio was really nice.
Well, we had a lovely meal. The waitress took our order and disappeared. Luckly we had other wait staff to bring our food. She showed up to collect the bill, not cool.
Had another terrific meal at one of our very favorite local spots. Service and food were outstanding.
One Appetizer came out wrong, the other came out freezing cold. Hubby had the veal chop millanase which was dry. No balsamic, no tomatoes to give it some juiciness. Just arugula and a lemon wedge. When he got closer to the bone he saw that it was raw. He never received his sides. I had the fish special which was very peppery. It was served with a wine and caper sauce but that was pretty tasteless. It did come with spinach underneath but again, tasteless, like it just came out of a pot of water. No side of potatoes like I was told. The server didn’t come over to ask how we were doing. When he finally did stop at our table he argued with me about the potatoes not being included with my meal. When our plates were being cleared the bus boy didn’t bother asking why most of my meal was still on the plate. My husband told him about the raw veal and suggested he tell our server or the chef, instead he watched as the bus boy put our dishes in the tub and walked back to the floor without saying anything. All in all it wasn’t a pleasant experience. Between the noise level being off the charts and the mediocre food and service we probably won’t be back.
Excellent food and Personable staff. Noise level is a bit high. Portions were generous.
Both veal dishes were excellent. Tasty and generous portions. The bacon was undercooked for me for the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer. Complimentary bruschetta was delicious!
Service was on point . Noise level a little higher than I would like but still able to carry on a conversation.
Would definitely return and recommend.
Great atmosphere and delicious food! Would highly recommend!
My friend and I meet here for lunch over the years as it is centrally located between us. The food and service never disappoint. Serving size is generous; food is fresh and staff are professional and knowledgeable. BYO which is another plus.
As always, it was an excellent evening with great service and delicious meals. Thank you. Looking forward to our next visit.
The food was pretty good. Not outstanding. The service was not good. I have been to better byo’s. We were celebrating a birthday and had never been there before. No one explained why some people were offered an ice bucket for their wine. There was a long delay before our order was taken. We had to request more water service. No one checked to see how are meal was. It wasn’t horrible but don’t think I would recommend it. There are other Italian places with better service and comparable food.
The food was great. The service was lackadaisical.
Delicious food. We sat inside with 2 other couples but the patio looks inviting for our next visit.
We love Arugula. It is one of out for to restaurants. We know the food and service will always be great.
Great local gem particularly if sitting outside. Noisy when busy if sitting indoor. Food and service were very good. Relaxing atmosphere outside.
Great service, food and environment! We always eat at Arugula when we are in town from MD.
I normally love the food I get here however it is inconsistent. Must be due to different chefs. I have had great meals and I’ve have had bad ones. This time we got 2 pasta dishes and both didn’t have enough sauce and the one was completely tasteless. Very disappointed since I recommended this place to several people and got bad reviews from them sadly.
food and service great but noice level is almost prohibitive
The food was great and the service was excellent, however, it was so hot in the restaurant that it was hard to enjoy our food. We weren't alone, other patrons were complaining and fanning themselves. The staff should've taken action, turn on the AC or open the doors. It was unbearable and essentially ruined our dinner.
Food was very good and the COVID precautions were good.
it was my first time dining at Arugula. The food was excellent and I am sure that i will be back soon.
Consistently good! You can’t beat a BYOB
