Artu was founded on the most basic Italian technique, great ingredients, simply prepared, that is what Artu is all about.

In February of 1992 Artu opened its doors to the world, starting with outstanding sandwiches and mouth watering roasted meats, we continued to evolve and grow. Since then we have steadily added to our repertoire. From those sandwiches and roasted meats, we have produced old-world comfort food dishes to current interpretations of those classics that still make the most discerning eater reminisce of their childhood.

The food was incredible and was a really good value for the North End, which can tend to be pricier. The service was some of the best I've ever had in the North End. I will definitely be going back sometime soon

Was recommended to come here by a local and was not disappointed!! Ordered the bruschetta, veal parm and lobster pasta and all were superb. Marco was our server and he was excellent!!! He was extremely personable and also made me a perfect cappuccino. Will most definitely be coming back when I return to Boston.

Always a wonderful experience when we dine at Artu’s restaurant. We have been lucky to always have Juan as our waiter. He is excellent.

Went to Artu with my family for Easter dinner. The place and food were good, not excellent. The service was great - our waitress was lovely. The bill was VERY high, especially considering it's not a 5 star restaurant or experience. Might go back, but not rushing.

They have upgraded over the years and have a more expensive menu but still a good value. If my wife's shrimp scampi wasn't so bland it would have been five stars. The beet salad was delicious and my short rib raviolis were very tasty.

Have dined at both Artu now. Charles street last fall and now Prince St in spring. BEST meal ever. Thought the first time was awesome and no way would my second experience be as good. Wrong - It was even better. Wish I lived in Boston. I will dream about these meals until I can return to Boston.

We had a reservation for a party of 7 and were seated right away which was great on a busy Friday night. The appetizers of fried calamari and platters of meats, cheeses, and roasted vegetables were delicious. My salmon entree was a little undercooked and my husband enjoyed the frutti del mar. Our waiter was from Italy. He was personable but was new to the restaurant so our service wasn’t top notch but we would definitely go back!

First, they plunked us down at a table in a room that resembled a barracks. No tablecloth, under spotlights, in a major thoroughfare for foot traffic. Then, our appetizers arrived. They were fine, but not terribly warm or even interesting. While the empty appetizer platters and our plates were in front of us, our entrees arrived. The server attempted to put them down amidst the mess. We had to request crushed red pepper and grated cheese. This is an Italian restaurant! Our dinners were nothing more than fine. We conveyed to the manager that things weren't going well and to his credit he tried to make up for it by sending over complimentary desserts but it was too little too late. It was disappointing to have wasted a North End dining experience on this place.

Came in on st Patrick’s day for lunch. Our waiter seemed nice at first but he was either new or didn’t care much. We had a severe medical issue at the table if the person were to ingest a seed. She is very careful and stays away from most dishes that include things with seeds but we tried to ask if the sausage had fennel and the waiter said he would check. He came back and did not mention it so when we asked again he said “I’m pretty sure they don’t” when I explained that we’re asking due to a medical condition he kind of looked at me and said okay I’ll check. Turns out they do have fennel.

Bruschetta was AMAZING! highly suggest it.

We ordered 3 veal Milanese and 1 pasta dish and a side of Brussels sprouts. The food came out and the waiter had put in 3 veal Parms so we had to wait for three new dishes to be cooked so I ate my pasta dish by myself. The Brussels sprouts never came, I asked again if they were coming and he must have put them in then because they came at the end of the meal.

We ordered vodka sodas and limes, the drinks did not come with any lime so we asked and he didn’t bring them, we asked again when he came over and he didn’t bring them so finally a third time he brought some out.

Overall the food saved the experience. It truly was amazing food. We also had a wonderful bus boy who tried his best to fix all the mistakes the waiter was making.

At a certain point the waiter just stopped coming over and sent other people over. We were not rude to him at all but when this many mistakes happen it is hard to be overly friendly.

I will be back but if I see that waiter, I will wait just so I don’t sit in his section.

Very pleased with the service from our waiter JUAN. Aside from the company of my sweet daughter and my husband... Juan really made the nite special. My friend had actually recommended JUAN AS SERVER and we were fortunate enough he was working.

We were celebrating my daughters 27th birthday. Juan was professional and efficient. Very attentive but not overly so. He has keen people skills.

My lamb was incredible! Upon Juan recommendation I ordered
med rare, I was hesitant but it was perfect- glad i listened to him. My daughter requested an ‘off the menu’ chicken broc ziti dish which was accommodated with no question- and thoroughly enjoyed. My husband ordered chicken parm... the sauce was nice .....but the chicken was far too thin and crisp for chicken parm.. wouldn’t order that again.

OverAll everything was wonderful, the parking is pricey we found a lil lot for $22. Dinner with tip for three was
150. This included drinks- not too bad.

Many dishes on the menu looked appealing. I would like to back.

A terrific experience as Artu had the quality in a restaurant that seems to be something of the past: QUIET!!! Most restaurants are noisy with music blaring and you have to shout to your companions to be heard. Artu was old-world elegance; dark wooden walls, white tablecloths, professional and friendly but not overbearing waitstaff. The food was excellent. I had the salmon which was perfect. I will return and bring family: young and old so we can dine together like it used to be.

I have been here twice within the past month. The last time we had Marco who was professional precise accommodating to special request and knew the answer to every question

The second time was last night. We had a waitress that was nice but talked loud. Didn’t ask if we wanted drinks just dropped bread off and took our order for salad. She appeared disorganized. Our salad came, still no offer of a drink, we had to ask her to come over to order a drink. We waited a long time for our main meal. In fact she came back and asked us if we ordered two things (just checking” she said and they were the wrong orders We had to repeat our order. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time we had to ask where our food was. All the time she was waiting on the table of four beside us and kept asking them about there orders, who ordered what? She didnt tell one of the ladies that her order was extra due to a special request as this lovely lady inquired about the price. I asked her how much one the specials was and she said “around the same as one of the other salads”. It was more expensive than the “other salads”. Anyway the place is awesome but would be more awesome with another wait staff. She is too stressed and passes that on to the customer. I brought my husband there for his birthday and it was a little stressful for him because he was asking about the food and picked up on my frustration. Go with Marco, you won’t be disappointed.
Ps. The manager was no where to be found during this episode because I would have politely spoke to him.

Everything was great except the waitress made us feel rushed. The second we got there til minute we left. I told her 3 times we weren't in a rush. I'm sure she had other groups coming in but we didn't need her asking us every 5 min if we were ready to order. For this reason I might not come back with my business associates.

We were seated right away ...only to be seated at the back of the rest. The waiter took forever to get to our table.. He was very inattentive ...it took 15 min to place order.... when food arrive one of our dishes was cold ... chicken parm informed our waiter he said oooo let me take it back and have them warm it for you ... it came back piping hot floating in a sea of red sauce. When we expressed concern about the plating our server he offered to bring back a plate to drain some of the sauce

CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT ...Finally when we decided just to leave ..... i had to find to go and find our server to get our bill only to discover that he and all of the other male servers were near the bar watching a hockey game.....on the bill they offered no discount or reduction to the bill after we expressed our concerns ... he came back with one canoli as an apology from the chef

REALLY !!!!

The food was excellent and our waiter was excellent. The part that spoiled an otherwise good evening was the support service. We were made to keep our dirty silverware from our appetizer course, I was handed a dirty knife with entre (which was quickly replaced), and we were repeatedly asked if we were done with our dnnee dishes, when we clearly were not. It was toward the end of.the evening, so it was not because they were trying to flip the table.
