Great spot for a wonderful meal. We always enjoy what Chef Jim has to offer. The Stuffed Date appetizer and the Carrot Cake dessert are two of his signature dishes not to be missed!
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Nowhere else have I enjoyed so many dishes that anywhere else I would never have tried. The fried cauliflower appetizer is out of this world!!!
We had forgotten how good this is. Food was exceptional, the cauliflower appetizer was just fantastic.
They were out of so many things on the menu- leaving our choices really limited. The menu is already small- it was even smaller.
The flavor of the food was delicious but the chicken was rubbery. The wine was great, the sides were great. Sometimes you just get a rubbery chicken. Probably not chef's fault. The waitress was super nice but overly distracted during the busy dinner rush. She came up to take our order and soon as my husband began asking a menu questions, she turned around to help another waitress and left my us with my husbands mouth hanging open. It was awkward but funny at the same time as she did it to us a few times. We just figured they were short staffed at that moment. The restaurant has a great vibe, very whimsical with that old Florida feel. I would def revisit and try another dish. The table next to us had a vegetarian curry that looked to die for. I heard they are closing in a few months due to pending retirement. Go now if you want to try.
Wonderful escape from the usual chain restaurant fare. Love the ambience, the chicken salad, date appetizer and pomegranate tea. All were excellent! So sad it is closing in a month!
Very quaint restaurant quite unlike any other. Amusing decor, lively jazz on Mondays. Excellent soups vide Moroccan Lamb Tagine and very tasty plump crab salad. Lavender flat bread and stuffed dates excellent. Hosts and servers very accommodating and attentive. We had a really good time on our last night down South. A plus was kind attention to our Chow dog. The chef and his Wife are great characters and a pleasure to meet.
A cozy little place with an artsy flair. Especially loved the homemade bread, the pompano entree and the chicken breast with fresh mushroom sauce. The carrot cake with mascarpone icing was the perfect ending and some of the best carrot cake we've ever had! Thank you Arts and Eats staff. We had a great dining experience!
this is a place you want to go to before it closes. Super evening with great food and good conversation.
The food was delicious and the presentation creative. We especially appreciated the clear explanations on the menu and the flexibility for plant-based dining - especially for those of us who have our own version of WFPB :-) - meaning a little fish, gee and, on occasion, certain cheeses. We will definitely be back and will share this gem with our friends.
Our meal was wonderful, as always. The disappointment was that Chef Jim is getting ready to retire in a couple of months. So, you'd better get in while you can. We will!
Got a Groupon to check it out. Happy we did, loved it and returned the following day with friends!
Very attentive servers, unique ambiance, tasty well presented food
It was adorable along with great food. The service was top notch, too.
Good experience. The people were friendly but they were out of chicken so we did not get to order what we wanted.
Sadly, A&E is closing soon, as Chef Jim is retiring. Great people work here, serving great food any way you like it. Funky decor in Bradenton's VOTA (Village of the Arts), where it fits right in. Get there before Jim leaves and talk to him about his music and what's next!!
Jim makes the best soup and entrees while Donna makes sure the front of the house is totally happy with the service, food and everything else. What a team! This place is small and a bit different, but it is a wonderful, family-run restaurant that is a must visit whenever within 30 miles of Bradenton. Great staff as well.
The best creative food in the area. Do not think about it, just go. The food is worth it.
We were 3 people and we all had an entree
and small plates to share our entree. Samples from heaven. We left feeling great. With The Carrot cake to go.
A must Destination.
It was hard to decide what to order! My companion went for the lamb shank, which was fall-off-the-bone tender. I chose vegetable curry with a garnish of pineapple chutney and a side of tzaziki—the dish was spicy but not overbearing. Consuming a vegetable dish justified my ordering the carrot cake, which was everything the reviews said it was—just divine!
Always great! Thank you Jim & Donna for all you do! Jim, add your Fried Chicken to the menu my friend!
We will visit as many times as we can before Memorial Day!
Met 2 friends there and the food, service and ambiance were wonderful. Very good casual entertainment with singer/guitarist. Food fresh and well prepared with a nice selection. Well definitely go back!
Only our second visit . Surely not our last. Felt like we were eating with family serving us + the food & service were terrific. All 4 of us had different entrees & all delicious including my wifes vegan entree.
Food was fabulous. Highly Rwcommend!!
The waiter was on weed. 11 old daughter was serving us food was cold
This was our third occasion to dine at Arts and Eats. It was, like our first 2 visits, outstanding. The food was exceptional. The chef creates his own dishes and they are unlike anything I have ever eaten. Every meal is flavorful and creatively presented. It's a little pricey so we save our trips here for special celebrations. But it is well worth it. Atmosphere is quaint and relaxed. You will not be disappointed!
An excellent meal. Had the pompano and truffles shellfish after the squash soup and salad. Followed up with the carrot cake. Everything was special. Very personable atmosphere.
Excellent meal! I like moderately spicy food and loved the 5-spice fried chicken dinner. My wife had the Mediera chicken breast and mushroom dish and loved that. Very friendly feel and excellent service. We will return.
Amazing delicious food, loved the fried cauliflower, lamb sous vide and poached pear. Service was top-notch and the ambiance was fun and artsy. Highly recommend!
I understand that this restaurant will be closing in May. It is a unique spot and will be greatly missed.
Five people went, five people left full and happy. No Complaints. Portions where generous, and every thing was delicious.
Outstanding food, service and ambiance!!! A dining pleasure!!!!
We (4 adults) enjoyed the perfect service, the excellent appetizers and wonderful main courses, good wine and friendly people. There are enough parking spots and a wide disability ramp. Price is at the upper end but definitely worth it!
It was our first time visiting Arts & Eats so I don't have a lot to pass on, except to say the restaurant is unique, it's colorful and somewhat pleasing to the eyes. The service and folks working there were great. A cool and interesting menu compared to most restaurants although somewhat limited. The food was good, not great but good enough. One app, two entrees, two glasses of wine, no dessert. If you order the curry meal, just understand it will be nothing similar to the traditional thai curry your use to getting at thai restaraunts, Chef Jim does his own version of curry and at least for me was a little disappointing since i absolutely love spicy curry on rice and this version to me just didn't do for me what curry usually does for me. Overall, it was a nice experience but just not sure worth the $100 price tag we paid for dinner for two.
It was good, I would go back and try something else on the menu. The service was good. I believe it is family owned.
It is in a small house so it is a bit loud from others conversations.
As usual, we had a great meal at Art & Eats. We were hoping for it to be quiet so we could visit, but it was a little noisy. That won’t stop us from coming back. The food is always really good and served hot.
Our second time there. Convenient as a “before the theater” spot to grab a nice meal. Did not disappoint! Food was quick, high quality and well-prepared. We love it!
Service was great, food was delicious. Cozy atmosphere.
We are very picky "foodies" who dine at high end restaurants around the country on a routine basis. This chef is the real thing and the local ingredients and homey unpretentious cooking style made for a special combination. I had the pompano, which was perfectly cooked, light and flavorful, the bokchoy was also perfectly cooked and the rice was excellent - nothing super fancy, just super good. It was as if your Mom suddenly became a trained chef - what could be better. The service was friendly, welcoming and efficient. I would like to see this restaurant remodel its interior and clean up a bit so that the ambiance would reflect the beauty and quality of the food. Overall I would dine here again for a reliably good meal at a reasonable price.
Phenomenal meal; my first time here and I can’t wait to come back!
Quaint place owned and operated by a couple.Husband is the chef and wife runs the operation. Every meal is made to perfection. Artwork on the walls. The carrot cake is exceptional. Highly recommend this establishment.
