Artisan’s doesn’t disappoint: delicious food, friendly & efficient service, warm ambiance.
I've dined here before, this was probably the fourth or fifth time. It has always been a good place for good food and craft beer. I never had reason to complain about the food or service before - this time is different.
We were seat in the back room, which is usually set aside for parties. It's closed off, but not in a bad way. The ceilings are low, so noise level is a little high. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a party that were playing a game - "let's send multiple text messages to each other with our text warning on high." All phone were pinging and ringing as they kept sending messages to each other. Beyond annoying. Drink orders were taken and filled, then our dinner order was taken, 4 meals. Within a short time, salads and soups were served, and shortly after those plates were cleared our meals came. But one was wrong. The waitress came up, grabbed the wrong meal from the server, apologized and said she would be right back with the correct meal. She was right back, but only to tell us that the correct meal would "be out in a few minutes." So, three of us sat there with meals while we waited for the other meal to come out. And we waited, and waited, and waited. 15 minutes later the meals came out. "Sorry for the mix up" was all we got.
I've had this happen before, and I understand mistakes are made. What this was is the first time a manager did not come to our table, try to explain what happened and make good with the meal being taken off the tab, or a comp of drinks or desert to make up for the mistake. Also, offers to hold food to keep it warm is something else that usually happens. Not this time. Very, very disappointing.
Will we be going back? In a word - no. It wasn't because of the food, which was good, but not hot. Service besides the meal mix-up was adequate. But they really feel on their face in how the mix-up was handled. Too many other good restaurants in the area to be bothered with a chance for another less than stellar experience.
This was our annual Easter buffet at Artisan’s. They do a lovely job and rock the omelet stations! Service was superb - kudos to Brian - our excellent waiter! 😀🍝🍷
Good food, good service. Went for Easter brunch and was very nice. Would have liked to see more of a
Service and overall staff needs training. Food is better than the service which took away from our evening. It’s not cheap but food quality is good. No attention to detail.
1st time dining there. Excellent quality. Exceeded our expectations. We will be back soon!
Hands down best restaurant in Ocean County! Wine list is perfect , crafted beers delicious and food is always cooked to perfection. I go often and would like to see more frequent changes to the specials.
We went for the Valentine’s Day dinner menu. Food was amazing as usual and so was the service. This place is an instant go to for me when someone asks what’s a good place to eat and get a drink around here?! Great value, great service, outstanding food and a decadent atmosphere!
Food was superb, atmosphere was good. The IEPAwas quite tasty, but could have been colder. Overall a great dining experience for a Valentines Day
We made reservations for Valentine's Day. The special menu was good and priced well at $49 for a 3 course meal. However, for two of the items there was a $5.00 upcharge, which then would have made the price $59, didn't make sense to include those items if they didn't fit within the $49 price. I had the short rib dinner which was wonderful. My husband and two others at our table ordered the pub steak and all three were tough and chewy. Overall we really enjoy Artisans and will continue to go there, we just won't order the pub steak.
We were celebrating our 10-year anniversary and everything was superb. Our waiter, Joe, was attentive and made sure I liked my drink when it came out unlike what I had expected. (We wound up buying a bottle for the table. It was a great find!) The food was delicious and we even got dessert to-go. The only downside was that our table for two was seated adjacent to a large group who were incredibly loud most of the time. Other than that, it was a spectacular meal and one of my favorite restaurants.
Had a wonderful meal the short ribs are absolutely spectacular I would recommend them to anyone and the service was great as usual
Service very slow
Everything is great here; especially the salad with the balsamic dressing!
As a frequent customer, I was greatly disappointed by the following: ran out of Corona; limited choice of liquor (no FireFly, no Myers Run); poorly mixed drinks (too watered down) and most importantly, by 7pm, there was a limited number of dessert choices available and the 2 we received were poor in quality. Very disappointed.
The food was really delicious 😋 we got the ensalada Pizza goat cheese salad and lasagna Florentine- everything was good. They have a good wine selection as well. We sat in the bar area the live music was nice 👍🏻
Food was good, not great and overpriced. I will not return or recommend. There are other restaurants in area with similar quality food for less. And there are Monmouth County chefs who are more talented for the same pricing. Sorry Artisans, not impressed.
Beer and cider selection is amazing. Food portions are large... a bowl of pasta fagoli is plenty as a a meal. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals....food was served hot.
The only negative was a timing issue... halfway through the appetizer the main course arrived at the table.
As usual, the food was great. Since the wine we wanted wasn’t available, the manager, Liz, went out of her way to find a great wine that was a similar style at a similar price. This restaurant is consistently very good.
Unfortunately the hostess did not inform our server that our table was his! I had to get up and track her down when we had not been waited on in 15 minutes. Not a good start to the evening. Our server then did a good job in taking care of our table. The food was very good, specials were a bit pricey. We did expect a few more Mediterranean dishes since it was noted for Italian/Mediterranean food. A nice place for a special occasion.
Food was excellent and our waiter Nick made sure we were well taken care of.
We have been here several other times.in the past we ordered off of early bird.this time too late we brought other family members after bragging about it. very disappointed couldn’t believe salad not included with our Italian entree waitress never brought us bread till we finally asked after sitting there for a long time The servings were nothing to brag about. Overall very disappointing and somewhat embarrassing
Always a wonderful experience at Artisan's.
The dinner specials never disappoint, and anything braised is to die for!
Great craft beer list, wonderful staff, and killer food (ask for the hop pickles!)
We've had anniversaries, family dinners, parties, etc. with Artisan's and are always happy with our choice.
Despite the pubby feel and decor the restaurant serves up some wonderful dishes and changes up the menu regularly.
Great food. Wife says best Italian food she has ever had. Nice light delicious sauces and meats. Great service by Danielle our server. Wonderful beer selection too if you want beer instead of wine.
Great menu and the selection of $15 bottles of wine were wonderful. Calamari appetizer was in a balsamic reduction and was very good.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner.
It was fine and we would go back again. Not exceptional but fine
Overpriced blah food
The hostess was very welcoming and friendly and so was the whole staff. The bartender made a very good sangria which I really enjoyed. The server was also very nice and it was my daughter's birthday so it was a very special day she brought out a candle in the ice cream that my daughter ordered. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going there again.
Artisans never disappoints , good food nice atmosphere and the service is always good. Great wine selection and specials. My personal favorite is the ensalada Pizza 👌🙌🏼
Just got lucky and found this place about 1 Year ago and go back at least once a month because of the great quality food
Nice restaurant. Food is okay. Convenient location for business lunches.
Wonderful dining experience as always, food and service always excellent.
Great food and great service. Excellent wine selection.
As soon as we entered the Artisan Restaurant and Brewery we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. This restaurant was both warm and inviting. It was reminiscent of an Italian winery where I spent many hours while a student in Italy. Kathy, our server was AMAZING. Her outgoing personality combined with her excellent customer service added to this already wonderful experience. Besides the food, there was a
good selection of craft beer and an extensive wine list. Also offered was their Sunday Night Pasta Special. The menu is varied and delicious. There is also a party room that would be perfect for an intimate party! Give it a try; I promise that you won't be disappointed!
Very courteous staff, prompt service, accommodating for dietary needs. Enjoyed the decor and meal.
Great place.
We've been to Artisans last 3 Julys while visiting the Jersey shore. First 2 years we were happy, but this past year, a little disappointed. Inside is very nice, but entrees are expensive, and that's fine. But when I'm paying $23 , I don't expect the spaghetti to sit under a heat lamp to the point where it tastes like chef boyardee. Those of us who ordered pasta had similar complaints, but my son ordered a personal pizza which came out last, and appeared to be straight from the oven. He was happy. Don't think we'll be making it 4 years in a row after this experience.
My friend ordered a steak, polenta and asparagus. The steak and asparagus were cold they gave her s new steak which she couldn't even cut . Otherwise everything else was good and the service was excellent.
