Artisan - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
We decided to change up our Sunday routine and drove to Lafayette (from Livermore) to eat at Artisan. It was a nice day but we decided to sit inside. The service was friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict and cleaned his plate. I order the Benedict with Crab and Avocado, a nice change up. He had a mimosa and I had the Kir Champagne and Pomegranate cocktail. Delicious.
We have been going to Artisan Bistro for 8 years and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, they are closing and this was their last night of being open.
They have another restaurant in Concord called "Lima" across from Todos Santos Park and it is veery, very good Peruvian Cuisine. They are open 7 days a week, lunch and dinner. Very, very good. I highly recommend "Lima". Excellent quality food.
Went here for brunch for the first time. It was quite and not many people there for a Sunday brunch. I got the artisan burger which was probably one of the top burgers I have had in Lafayette so far. Seasonal drink menu and a nice selection of cocktails, wine, beer and spirits. We were pleasantly surprised with the prices and very competitive with other restaurants in the area. Will go back again for the dinner and of course brunch.
Big disappointment, been there a few times before but this wasn't anything I remembered, pork chop was hard and tough, octopus ( which is why we came back) wasn't nearly as good as I remembered, short rib was really skimpy for a 17.00 appetizer. No worth the trip
My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant printed a menu with our names and the nature of our celebration on it. Because it was early, we were allowed to choose our table, which meant we sat in a bright, open area with wonderful ambiance. The service was perfectly attentive, and the food was off the charts.
The meal was excellent and the setting charming. They go out of their way for returning customers, and offer champaign or desert for a person celebrating a special occasion-even put your name on the evening menu. (Nice touch). It will be our go to resturant.
Wonderful! We were celebrating my daughters birthday and she loves brunch. Are waiter was great and made my daughter feel special. Everything we ordered was perfect, amazing French toast, delicious veggie scramble. The crab salad was so fresh and light. I could eat it everyday. The French fries with aioli were delicious as well. Great birthday celebration!
Artisan Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants in the entire Bay Area. The chef does an outstanding job preparing creative dishes with exquisite care and detail...and the results are delectable. We have never been disappointed with the fusion of unique flavors and textures. We come here multiple times per year, and there are always unique, new items to try on the menu --depending on what is in season. It is our 'go-to' restaurant for special occasions and sometimes 'just because.'
The setting is cozy and comfortable...in an older converted house in downtown Lafayette. It's worth a drive out from SF, if you'd like to get out of the city for a change and try something different!
Food was fine. ..nothing special. The salmon was fair, lots of barley on the side but would have liked a substantial vegetable instead of little pieces mixed into the grain. Limited choice of salads. Beef was OK, horseradish mashed potatoes did not have any horseradish flavor. Food was generally kind of bland. The restaurant is quiet and good for having a conversation with your tablemates. The ambience is its strength. In warm weather there is a very nice outdoor patio.
We loved the NEW MENU with lots of dishes to share and daily specials, all with interesting, delightful flavors… amazing cuisine as usual. Artisan also has a great selection of wines and tasty cocktails in a cozy setting with outstanding service. No wonder they won the best fine dining of the bay area.
This is always a very successful "go-to" restaurant for lunch or dinner. The lunch menu is not large - but diverse and very interesting. Always several tasty options. And they make an AMAZING Manahattan. Good value, great food, very nice environment. Doesn't fail.
We had a disappointing visit to Artisan Bistro. Our waitress was awkward with her service. In essence, we felt a waitressing job was not a good fit for her. She also seemed flustered all night. Two in our group wanted the ribeye steak and were then told it was no longer available. It was only 7:30. She didn't really seem to care. We had the same situation with dessert where one of our items wasn't available. Our waitress indicated it just "wasn't her night"; I indicated it "wasn't our night". Water has to be requested. Our meals were mediocre: $27 for stir fry; the duck was a very small portion; the risotto was just OK.
The total meal was over $300; we were disappointed in the quality of the food and the service.
I took my husband here for his 42nd birthday. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent. The only complaint was that the octopus was very rubbery and we only ate half. When our server asked if we are finished she should have noticed that it wasn't eaten and asked us if it was OK. We would've shared with her that it was very rubbery and not edible. It's important to check in once in a while to make sure the food is tasting good and everything is OK. If I had noticed something was half eaten I would've inquired as to why and maybe brought out a dessert or something to rectify the situation. Instead we paid for something we didn't enjoy and didn't eat. Other than that the ambience was very lovely.
