About

This restaurant is permanently closed. Artisan offers a warm, welcoming ambiance, appropriate for both special occasions & casual get-togethers. The highly refined food of Chef/Owner John Marquez, blends Northern California's local/organic sensibilities with French influences & techniques. The warm interior is a reflection of the casual elegance you find in every meal. This upscale bistro is intimate, personal and inviting. The dining room is contemporary, stylish and elegant, displaying natural wood beams, a cozy stone fireplace, and exhibits by a local artist.
In the kitchen, the sophisticated menu is prepared by Chef Marquez, with over 15 years of French American culinary experience. He has recently served as Chef at Fringale, Chef de Cuisine at Coi in SF., with prior work at Picasso in Las Vegas, Per Se in NY and The French Laundry in Yountville.

We decided to change up our Sunday routine and drove to Lafayette (from Livermore) to eat at Artisan. It was a nice day but we decided to sit inside. The service was friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict and cleaned his plate. I order the Benedict with Crab and Avocado, a nice change up. He had a mimosa and I had the Kir Champagne and Pomegranate cocktail. Delicious.

We have been going to Artisan Bistro for 8 years and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, they are closing and this was their last night of being open.
They have another restaurant in Concord called "Lima" across from Todos Santos Park and it is veery, very good Peruvian Cuisine. They are open 7 days a week, lunch and dinner. Very, very good. I highly recommend "Lima". Excellent quality food.

Artisan has been one of our favorite places to dine whether dinner or brunch. Unfortunately, it is closing and we will miss this great restaurant offering a varied menu using the freshest and in season produce.

This has to be one of the best, quite possibly the very best, restaurant in Lamorinda and we're so sad that it's closing.

Always our "go to" local restaurant for a great meal. Sadly they are closing in a week due to landlord/property owner/rent problems. Sad to see such a good restaurant fold for this reason. We will miss them.

I took a friend for her birthday. She ordered the hamburger, and I ordered the fish tacos. We each shared a small portion of our dish with the other. The food tasted great and fresh, and I am sorry to hear that it will be closing very soon.
