If you are going to the Opera House on a Sunday, this is the perfect spot for brunch or lunch before or dinner after. I love the food, service, and convenience.

The food was great here. Both me and my wife went here for a pre-ballet dinner and drinks and we weren't disappointed. My wife said that her dish (scallops) was the best she'd ever had. My dish (cod) was also incredible - great combination of ingredients and flavors. The drinks were also really good. The artisan mule is a hit. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Fantastic Waiter and service, nice elegant layout, good food choices, attentive staff. Only negative was a buffoon watching Football at the Bar Loudly trying to intrude on everyone's space.

After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes before our waiter came over. He was pleasant and apologized, but it was not busy so I’m not sure where he was. Dinner went smoothly and was super tasty, but then after waiting 30 minutes for our dessert, that never came, we sadly had to leave for the show. He did offer to give it to us for free if we came back after the show. I would definitely give it another shot, in hopes he was just having a bad night.

This is a great option if seeing a show at the Paramount. The food is delicious but quick service can happen if needed. We’ve eaten at Artisan multiple times and they are great at accommodating food requests.

All of our food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was lovely and well paced. In fact, our server couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We were going to an afternoon ballet up the street at the Opera House, so we had plenty of time to enjoy a delicious meal and still get to our performance easily. We were celebrating the upcoming birth of a new baby in our family, and our waiter brought us a special plate of pink and blue sweet treats — gratis! I’ve been here several times and had similarly special experiences. Artisan Bistro is my favorite restaurant in Boston’s theater district.

The worst restaurant experience EVER!! We had reservations, were seated immediately, and explained that we were pressed for time and would order immediately, and then only one course. No one came to our table to take even a drink order for at least 30 minutes! After repeated requests, our food never materialized, and we sat there with only bread and water for close to 1 1/2 hours. We finally walked out, sans food. The manager apologized for a mix up in the kitchen, but the apology seemed hollow. We were told we could come back after the show for dinner, but that clearly didn't solve our hunger. We will NEVER return.

Was looking forward to the meal before theatre on Friday night. Staff was friendly when we arrived & we were seated quickly.

Food was “eh”. One guest’s scallop entree was cold. Fish (asked for well-done) was cold & under. Med. Rare filet mignon was over cooked.

Waiter was definitely friendly, but inattentive. One round of drinks was forgotten. He seemed to disappear between apps & entrees.

For dessert, the churros weren’t crispy. They were limp & cold - but tasted good.

While I don’t mind $200+ for 3 people, the quality & service weren’t worth the price.

My friend and I went to Artisan Bistro for a pre-theatre dinner. The menu sounded promising but the food did not live up to our expectations. My brick chicken was dry and overcooked and when I mentioned it to the waiter his response was "What do you want me to do about it?"
For the price of $28 for chicken, it should be cooked to perfection. I seriously suspect that this dish was precooked instead of cooked to order. Not good for a restaurant at the Ritz.

The Egg Benedict with lobster was ordered by 7 out of 8 people at our get-together last Sunday. Everyone loved the food. The desserts took quite a while to come to the table but we did not mind because we wanted to chat. I have brought friends here many times before because I like (1) the quiet, casual atmosphere and (2) never long lines or crowded. Price is a bit on the high side but okay if I really want to have a good conversation. Chinatown is nearby and restaurants there are cheaper but noise level too high and service not attentive.

While the restaurant is pricey, I always know when I visit a RItz-Carlton that my expecatations will be exceeded, and I will leave feeling that every penny spent was worth the experience. The staff are always friendly and accommodating; the food is vibrant and fresh, and if you have the chance, always order their orange juice - there is no better orange juice in the world. No one could convince me otherwise. The ambiance is relaxed, yet refined, perfect for conversing with your dining companions. No shouting necessary to hear one another. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I will always return to Ritz-Carlton dining whenever I am able. It is joyous.

The service was most lacking. Very little attention to what we needed. The basic service qualities were not there. Waiter was nice enough just not even the basic attentive after we ordered our meal. Took a long time to get the food and the quality was lacking in taste and appeal. While we think he took a break he obviously did not do a good handover to assure we had what we needed. Value was not there for the cost.

I was very disappointed in my recent birthday dinner for my boyfriend. I chose Artisan because I have had several good meals there in the past ; this was a special occasion; and proximity to the theater we were going to. It was a Labor Day Weekend Saturday, so it was not busy at all. There are two sections plus the bar and there were only 2 other diners in our section. Staff was very friendly, but slow to bring water and bread and take drink orders. I ordered the Steak Frites, and my friend ordered scallops - we ordered a side of grilled asparagus with butter sauce. When the meal was served it was decidedly unimpressive in presentation. The scallops and accompaniments looked like they were thrown on the plate -- no care at all. However, my friend said that the meal was very tasty. The grilled asparagus was not grilled - it was steamed and overdone, spears were hanging limp over the side of the serving dish and they were drowning in butter sauce. My steak frites was not in fact steak frites. The frites were actually thick potato wedges. One expects very thin french style frites. Second, the steak was an unidentifiable cut of meat, gristly and overly fatty. It was not hangar, ribeye, strip, flatiron -the usual cuts normally served as steak frites. It was unflavorful and in fact I could only eat half of it as it was so full of fat. Once again the food looked like it had been thrown on the plate with splatters unwiped. Ketchup was in a metal container on the side of the plate with ketchup dripping over the side. The waiter was unattentive, though very pleasant when she appeared. We ordered tea and a very good crepe cake with chocolate hazelnut filling. I told the waiter that it was my friend's birthday and the cake was plated with a happy birthday inscription and candle. She did not charge us for the cake. It took forever to get our tea and cake. I can't figure out what was holding it up as she wasn't serving anyone else at that point. Disappointing.

The hostess greeted us ( myself, husband and adult daughters)with a warm welcome and seated us. Our server was attentive and we never felt rushed. The food far exceeded our expectations: melt in your mouth filet, outstanding wagyu burger, brick chicken and mussels were all seasoned well and cooked to perfection. My husband started with a traditional clam chowder which he enjoyed and my daughters and I shared the lobster taco appetizer which was outstanding!

Customer service was great. Very personable and accommodating. Atmosphere is very pleasant. It is expensive, but we went for restaurant week, so it was a good deal for us. My only complaint about the food is that a few dishes were overly salty, but the flavors were otherwise great and everything was beautifully presented.

We went for brunch, before watching a matinee. There were perhaps four tables, not crowded at all. Our food took a long time to prepare. When it did arrive, two of the three dishes that we had ordered were lukewarm, as if they had been sitting around for a while. The omlette, moreover, was terrible. The eggs were way overcooked, stiff and not fluffy, and the outside golden brown.

Artisan Bistro is part of the Ritz Carlton hotel. I was seated promptly, and while there was a large crowd at the bar the dining room was relatively quiet. The menu is limited, not huge, but what is there is well chosen. I had a glass of white wine (finally, a REAL pour of more than 4-5 oz!) and a warm swordfish salad with fresh green beans, artichokes, kalamata olives, and heirloom tomatoes in a very light olive oil reduction. Fresh, al dente and very nicely done. Accompanied by excellent olive sourdough and regular baguette. Service was attentive. Would go back!

My husband and I brought my mother-in-law to Boston for her 70th birthday, we were seeing a show a the Opera House. I chose Artisan Bistro for brunch after seeing it's close proximity to the theatre and reviewing the menu. I noted in my reservation that we would be celebrating a birthday and requested a "nice table with a pretty view". We got the best table in the house, we could see the entire restaurant, as well as people watch out the windows. The service was exceptional and at the end of our meal, which was delicious, my mother-in-law was served a warm, iced cinnamon bun with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate on the plate. I did not order this, but was pleasantly surprised at the subtle and classy touch. My mother-in-law was simply thrilled! We would definitely return to Artisan Bistro the next time we are in town.

I booked on line. Had no idea it was connected to the Ritz.
Food was very good - good quality.
Atmosphere was ok. Not bad but nothing special.
It was clean which is important and had good natural light.
Service was slow and not great. Waited 45 minutes for bagel and lox.
Server mixed up coffee order. Not Ritz service to say the least.
It was great for the pre-theatre 1pm show , so we went for brunch.
Need more gluten free options.
