Food OK. Waited too long for a host to appear to seat us. OK if nothing else is available but nothing to really recommend.
We went there for dinner after the Pretty Woman show at Opera House. The three of us enjoyed our dinner.
Small and intimate restaurant close to the theaters and the common. Everyone was very accommodating from the doorman to the manager. The Ritz restaurant "The Artisan" is beautiful and a really nice treat for a nice night out. I just wish we could have stayed longer for dessert and coffee but we had to get to the theater.
Context: rainy Christmas Day breakfast in a hotel dining room. Nothing special - exactly what you'd order from the room service menu - an unimaginative breakfast selection of waffles, berries and yogurt, eggs and potatoes. Everything tasted delicious but would be considered overpriced anywhere else in town. There was something missing in the ambience. A bit of the Ritz Carlton has rubbed off in the cloth napkins and stylized flatware, but otherwise it felt like a midwestern Courtyard by Marriot dining room. None of the warmth or elegance found in the rest of the hotel. Our waitress was kind but slow (bless her for taking the holiday shift). We booked a table for 5 and were crammed with our coats and 3 full grown teenagers into a 4 person booth with an extra chair. When we asked about the table for six we were told it was reserved. It sat empty for the duration. Bottom line - A satisfying meal before departing to the airport, but not a particularly memorable experience.
Food came out fast, servers were nice but not the fastest in coming back to the table, my burger was undercooked, and we found hair in the Bolognese. Manager was apologetic, however can't say I would recommend this place, especially for the prices they charge.
We were looking for a restaurant in Back Nay that served breakfast indoors. I love Open Table for giving me great options. The reviews were great for Artisan Bistro. The breakfast and service were fantastic. I was a little surprised to get charged for coffee refills but other than that we loved it here and will definitely go back.
So convenient to get to the opera house from the artisan. Food was yummy, service was lovely, and we would go back.
Great service, excellent cuisine!
Quite overpriced for what you get. Service is very good, but there are options with much better food just a couple blocks away- Stoddard's, Marliave, even Legal Crossing all have better or superior offerings at an either equivalent or lower price point.
A friend and I had brunch there before the theater yesterday. I’ve been there several times over the years but it was her first visit. We allowed plenty of time and had a delicious meal and a relaxing time!
The price of.Macallum 12 whiskey was extremely high. The hamburger was specifically ordered very rare and was served medium. When we looked at the ticket order the server ordered medium rare. Server was non responsive to our comments
Medium rare steaks came out well done. We didn’t have time to send back as we had a show to see. Was very disappointed. Our waiter was amazing however.
Delicious food, attentive service. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I suggest that the "additions" or sides to dishes be served in greater proportions. For example, a spinach it would have been nice to have more accoutrements. The pan-roasted chicken was delicious but I'd rather have more potatoes and roasted vegetables than two huge chicken breasts, which are impossible to finish. Just a thought...
We asked for the round table when we booked a table. They kindly offered us the table. We really appreciated it. We had steak and salad with steak. Both of them were great. We also had drinks at the lobby after dinner even though the bar was not open on Mon ans Tues. The server was so nice and friendly.
For the cost the experience was sub par. Repeatedly asked for my water to be refilled without success. Food was adequate but for the price would have expected better.
Excellent experience ty again hostess outstanding server as well
The hospitality was impeccable. From the hostess to our server, and everyone in between, there were nothing but warm smiles and welcoming attitudes. The food was great too, but the people were top notch!
Quite informal setting, not what I expect from a restaurant at the Ritz Carlton
The service was awful. The food was overpriced. That’s pretty much it. I would never go back.
Birthday event there before a show in the theatre district.
They brought out champagne and a little birthday treat at the end.
It’s close to the theatre district and was really nice !
Excellent dining experience celebrating successful completion of an exam! Looking forward to dining here often. The service was noteworthy as well.
Excellent service. I was so pleased with Mouad and Bal. Their attention to my every detail was impeccable.
Brought our daughter and friends out for dinner as they attend BU here in the city. All other choices where booked as it was last minute and later in the evening. This place was quite and the ambiance was great. The meals where spectacular although pricey. From the bolognese to the Steaks all approved and the three large cookie desert was the icing . Restaurant is a-joined with the Ritz Carlton
Terrible experience. We waited at least 15/20 minutes to give our food / coffee order and then at least 45 minutes after that for our food and it never came. We got up and left. We ordered fairly simple dishes too - eggs and toast!!!
Wonderful breakfast - beautiful food presentation and attentive service. Thank you!
Great spot for a bite to eat before a show. Ended up coming back to the lobby bar afterwards!
The service is very much in the tradition of the Ritz Hotel, which means attention to detail, sincere, friendly, and professional. While my club sandwich was delicious, and my friend said her burger was also tasty, unfortunately her burger was not cooked to her specifications. Obviously, she could have sent it back, but since it was tasty, she excused the level of doneness. For those that like it a little quieter, it's best to sit by the windows. The booth seats by the bar can be very noisy if there are a lot of bar patrons. We felt like we were part of the bar couple's conversation from where we sat.
All in all, the Artisan is a nice place - pricey, but nice.
The only reasons I did not rate this outstanding were the ambience and the fact that small plates (appetizers, salads) were priced almost as entrees. Tables were not set until seated and the place was totally barren and unwelcoming when we entered (no other diners). Decor is basic hotel restaurant. But the food was delicious (perfectly cooked tenderloins served with a lovely salad) and staff were friendly. Our server went the extra mile and had each of the two tenderloins on the shared order prepared at two different temps to preserve marital harmony!
We have cherished The Artisan for years, and our return yesterday didn't disappoint. Of course, the food is excellent and prepared beautifully (those filet mignons!). The best part though was to be attended by Eugene, simply the best waiter in the world.
Great ambiance and wonderful service! The filet could’ve been cooked more on the rare side than medium. Our server was very friendly and attentive!
Was super excited to enjoy an afternoon at Artisan and found myself very disappointed with the experience. Service was spotty (we found out after waiting 15 minutes for our pre-ordered dessert that our waitress had gone on a break) and food was only alright with our taco appetizer cracking before we even fully picked it up + dessert only okay. For the price, I’d definitely choose many of the other great restaurants nearby.
Waitstaff, hostess and servers are so friendly and welcoming - outstanding service!
We arrived at 5:15 so the restaurant was not busy. The service was attentive to our need to be done before 7:00 PM. The appetizers were adequate, soup and a flatbread pizza. Two of us ordered the burgers, one medium rare, the other medium. Both arrived medium well to well done but we didn't want to take the time to send them back. We shared a creme brulee that was not up to expectations. The cost for this meal including 2 coffees and an additional appetizer with tip came to over $200.00. We won't return.
Nice Bistro, but sub par food.
Unfortunately Artisan was understaffed the night we dined. Every table was booked. The hostess stepped in to take our order. We had theater tickets and had informed our server upon arrival. One of our party was a few minutes late which didn’t help. With the delays in placing our order, etc., we made it to the theater barely in time for the curtain despite booking our dinner reservation to allow for two hours. This was supposed to be a celebratory dinner but ended up being stressful. Fortunately, the food was good.
Very good restaurant. Server was excellent. We used a Travelzoo voucher. Such a great deal $75 for 2 drinks , one shared app, and 2 entrees. It is in the Theater district. You can park right in the garage attached for $20 if you use the Spothero app. The food was excellent. Had the cod over a mushroom pasta. We ordered the chocolate linzer dessert, it was just ok. Not really any chocolate in it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you are going to the theater.
Birthday dinner with my daughter in law
Had a good time especially since the movies were so close
Don’t waste your time or money! Menu/food and service leaves a lot to be desired.
nice place with great service, the entrees are well over priced without truly being outstanding. Complimentary bread was excellent as was the spinach salad.
