Artisan Bistro
Great ambiance and wonderful service! The filet could’ve been cooked more on the rare side than medium. Our server was very friendly and attentive!
Was super excited to enjoy an afternoon at Artisan and found myself very disappointed with the experience. Service was spotty (we found out after waiting 15 minutes for our pre-ordered dessert that our waitress had gone on a break) and food was only alright with our taco appetizer cracking before we even fully picked it up + dessert only okay. For the price, I’d definitely choose many of the other great restaurants nearby.
Waitstaff, hostess and servers are so friendly and welcoming - outstanding service!
We arrived at 5:15 so the restaurant was not busy. The service was attentive to our need to be done before 7:00 PM. The appetizers were adequate, soup and a flatbread pizza. Two of us ordered the burgers, one medium rare, the other medium. Both arrived medium well to well done but we didn't want to take the time to send them back. We shared a creme brulee that was not up to expectations. The cost for this meal including 2 coffees and an additional appetizer with tip came to over $200.00. We won't return.
Nice Bistro, but sub par food.
Unfortunately Artisan was understaffed the night we dined. Every table was booked. The hostess stepped in to take our order. We had theater tickets and had informed our server upon arrival. One of our party was a few minutes late which didn’t help. With the delays in placing our order, etc., we made it to the theater barely in time for the curtain despite booking our dinner reservation to allow for two hours. This was supposed to be a celebratory dinner but ended up being stressful. Fortunately, the food was good.
Very good restaurant. Server was excellent. We used a Travelzoo voucher. Such a great deal $75 for 2 drinks , one shared app, and 2 entrees. It is in the Theater district. You can park right in the garage attached for $20 if you use the Spothero app. The food was excellent. Had the cod over a mushroom pasta. We ordered the chocolate linzer dessert, it was just ok. Not really any chocolate in it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you are going to the theater.
Birthday dinner with my daughter in law
Had a good time especially since the movies were so close
Don’t waste your time or money! Menu/food and service leaves a lot to be desired.
nice place with great service, the entrees are well over priced without truly being outstanding. Complimentary bread was excellent as was the spinach salad.
Good food. Well presented. Portions on the small side. Low noise level. Good wine selection. Not rushed. A little more attentive service would be great but nevertheless was still adequate. Nice atmosphere.
Food was ok. Should be much better given the cost of an omelet. Ambiance was more like a 3-star hotel dining experience than a Ritz Carlton experience.
We were on our way to Plaza Suite so Artisan, which we have enjoyed before, was perfectly situated. Valentines Day special was a full dinner so we ordered it. Four corses and all very good. The app was a little skimpy, the Soup was quite nice, and the entree, halibut and filet were ample and delicious (steak was perfectly rare). Dessert was super skimpy. All in all very good. A minor issue since our waiter asked us if we’re going out, was the length of time between courses to the point that even though we arrived at 6 PM we had rush dessert in order to make our 8PM curtain
I was diappointed in our visit to the Ritz’s Artisan last week. While the folks out front were terriic, the waiter was medium. Not bad but not particularly knowledgeable. The grilled oysters weren’t great. My girlfriends cauliflower steak was just OK, not particularly interesting...My $39 scallops were served cold. Then heated up on the same plate and reserved luke warm. — they never seemed freshly cooked. And we were not there at a peak time. It was 2/3rds busy — and beofre the rush...
The bread was excellent and the setting and ambiance are very nice, but I expected a lot more from the Ritz. If you are charging $39 or $50 for a plate in a bistro like setting, it ahould pretty exquisite. — or at oeast felt more of an effort should be made.
I would go back for a burger, maybe, but not dinner and would not recommend it to others for dinner...
Sorry!
Great pre theater location.
Space could use an upgrade.

Good service.
This was the first time dining here for my fiancée and I. Our friends highly recommended this place and I’m glad they did. The food was delicious, but what we appreciated most was the service all around.
The Artisan Bistro is located in easy proximity to the bustling theater district. The staff and service personnel are very accommodating and professional. The ambiance is inviting and the noise level acceptable. There is a full wine and cocktail list to accompany a range of generally good food offerings.
I would expect with a hotel like the Ritz Carlton housing this restaurant that I would be wowed. I was happy but not wowed.... we could have been anywhere.
Enjoyed everything we ordered. Our waiter made it a very special occasion.
Terrible service. Never got coffee
Nice location after a show, menu is very limited at lunch for gluten free options. Our entrees were delicious sliders and flat bread (not gluten free) and salads were fresh. Unfortunately, service was not up to the standards for the Ritz. Server ignored us, but was very attentive to other tables. We were a bit disappointed.
Overpriced for the quality of food and serve. The grapefruit in the cocktail was stale (though the cocktail itself was delicious!). The server was not that knowledgable about the drinks on offer. When my fork fell, the server promptly brought me another fork, but it was smaller (a salad fork) and from a different set, so had a different heft to it. I would expect better from a restaurant at the Ritz Carlton and for this price range.
We arrived early for dinner prior to going to the theater. Atmosphere is pleasant and staff was welcoming/ friendly. Our server was very pleasant , helpful and efficient. Menu is smal but the food was excellent and presentation pleasing. All in all a pleasant night out and we made it to the theater timely without ever feeling rushed. I would definitely recommend it and will return next theater night.
My husband’s appetizer came before his cocktail and his entree came 1 minute after his appetizer! The waiter was inexperienced and not at all what I expected from a restaurant at the Ritz.
Excellent food and service.
Highest recommendation.
This is a nice place to dine before a show. The menu is limit, but the food was quite nice.
This is a classy place to go pre or post-theatee. Food and ambiance are both excellent!
We brought our granddaughter to Boston to see the Nutcracker ballet and for a special treat had an early supper at the artisan bistro. Everything about the experience was perfect-the service, the food, the ambience. My husband and I decided we’ll have to come here more often for just the two of us.
Holiday lunch before the Nutcracker.
Staff was nice enough, but wait time for food, even dessert was surprisingly long
Met some friends for some drinks at Ritz and decided to stay and eat at the Artisan. Overall, we had a great experience given last minute decision to stay. We had a few appys that were very good, hot and fresh! Our service was fast, server was funny and pleasant. Nice surprise all around given it was theatre time and everything was bustling.
Put waiter was fantastic as was the food. Will definitely go back!
Great food, Great space, Great cocktails. All around wonderful experience.
Not up to a Ritz venue
Poor service, the restaurant need reno
This is the eighth year we brought our grandchildren,Daren for brunch before walking around the corner to the”Nutcracker” at the Boston Opera House. Even when they were very young they were treated as special guests by the staff. From valet service for parking our car to wait staff to food we have never been disappointed.
Recommend it to everyone I know that is heading into Boston for a show
Outstanding food and service. Went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff provided a wonderful experience for my wife. Would definitely recommend this place.
After many years' absence, we went back to the Artisan for brunch. We were pleasantly surprised. The chef even made delicious crepes for me. They were listed on-line but not in-house. Since we now live at 1 Avery and get a 15% discount, we will go again.
Great food, great service. Fun and upbeat. A bit loud as we had a very loud group seated next to us. I would recommend and would go back again. Great dinner before a show!
We had a 12:00 reservation and they said our table wasn’t going to be ready for a while and they sat us in their lobby. We had to eat in the lobby. At 12:25 we hadn’t even received drinks yet. After I said something, the drinks and food came. They did give a discount on our bill, however eating in the lobby was not acceptable.
