I'm always on the lookout for midtown restaurants near the Woodruff Arts Center, and there are no shortage of options. What is in short supply is a location where it's possible to carry on relaxed conversation in almost a serene environment. Article 14 fit the bill. The food was great, the service excellent, and I would definitely go back - that is, if I could.
Unfortunately, my first dining opportunity at Article 14 will also be my last because the restaurant shut down operations at that location on Feb 27, 2016. That's sad because the restaurant had a unique ambiance in a cool location.
Nice for a business lunch or lunch In general. Dinner is also great and the service is always superb.
Had dinner before the Symphony based on another review. Great little find. Valet parking or self parking in the deck that Article14 validates for several hours. At the end of the night, we only owed $4. And, since we weren't parked in ASO parking deck, we got out quickly!
Food was good. Not the best in Atlanta, but a solid choice. Our waitress was friendly and split our salad for us in the back instead of having us share a plate. Sometimes it's the small things.
Great whiskey/bourbon list!
We were disappointed with our experience here. Our main complaint is that the restaurant tries to put too many table in. We had three tables across a very small area and could hear everything the table on our right and the one on our left said. The noise level generally was high, and we were quite uncomfortable being so close to other diners. We were there for brunch, and the grits were excellent. The hamburger was good, but the fries were disappointing. There was an error in one of the orders, and the server immediately corrected the mistake, but it took a long time to get the correct order. I was finished with my meal by the time my husband got his correct order. The server handled it well, but the kitchen was very slow. The food wasn't so good that it would be worth trying this restaurant again.
When we arrived, no one was at the front of the restaurant to greet us, and it took a while to get someone to take our orders. It also took a whole to get our food and drinks. And, the place wasn't crowded at all. There were probably 20 people in the restaurant, and more than half already had their food. Once we spoke to one of the waitstaff about the slow service, the problem was corrected, but until we asked for an explanation of why everything was taking so long, we had plans to leave. It all worked out, but this place needs to be mindful that service on Sunday afternoons is just as important as dinner service.
We wanted a great restaurant in walking distance of the Atlanta Symphony. Place is charming, wait staff knowledgeable and attentive, food innovative and wonderful. Noise level pre-theatre is low - refreshing to be able to have a conversation over dinner. Great plus - valet or voucher self park in same building, making is much easier to get out after theatre. Our group agreed Article 14 will be our 'go-to' pre-theatre and post shopping restaurant when in mid-town.
The place is nice, the food is good. I ordered the trout and liked it.
I went on a Thursday for dinner and it was quite empty, but it was all right anyway.
Dined here twice now and thoroughly pleased both times. Great for lunch if you want to please. Business lunch too.
The kale salad is fantastic!
This place has a great vibe for a business lunch with customers, which is why I was there. The food and service were great, the prices are reasonable, and it was very accessible... I was able to get a table for 8 the morning of the lunch.
Great place and good for a business dinner as well
Article 14 is a sure hit for the weekday warrior or the weekend night out. The menu offered excellent starters and the entrees were proportioned well with plenty of choices, including a fresh fish selection and a seafood stew. The cocktail pours were generous and the service was spot on with great coordination and timing on meal prep and delivery. I highly recommend the salmon or the pork loin with generous ala carte sides. If your headed to a play at the Woodruff Arts Center or to hear the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra/Chorus perform, don't miss this gem for its excellent food and convenience to the venue!
Good food! Lighting was weird.. Definitely too bright. Not much selection for small plates.
It was easy to make last minute reservations for 8 and our service was great! The staff definitely exceeded all our expectations.
As always, excellent food and friendly service. Will definitely eat here again. Thanks.
Food was great! Our server was amazing! You must order the Bourbon Pecan Pie, soooooo good!
We found Article14 from a Google search of restaurants that were close to the High Museum/Woodruff Arts Center and reasonably priced. We brought our 3 children (5,9,11). They don't have a kids meal. But they have portions that our kids split and food our kids love. They even offered to make some things not on the menu for our kids, which we didn't take them up on the offer because their menu has salmon, chicken, burgers, and other foods out kids like.
Our server was exceptional and very attentive.
The food was really great and a great value. We had deviled eggs - best we've ever tasted. We also had Salmon, Flounder, burgers, and chicken - all were super tasty.
Overall this restaurant was a great find and I highly recommend it.
Took my mom here for brunch and was delighted with the menu, service and prices. We didn't realize it but brunch ends at 3:00 and we were running late and a hostess called me to check in and to make sure we knew the kitchen was closing! I was touched. When we arrived, the only diners were two large, private parties and us; but that was fine because the staff were helpful to everyone and didn't seem overwhelmed, nor did they seem to mind that we walked in at 2:45. THANK YOU for quick, kind service and super hot food (I guess that was made possible by the fact that the cooks were LITERALLY only making meals for my mom and me! I got a free OJ refill and lots of smiles from our waitress, bartender and hostess. Apparently they only hire SUPER nicest people to work at Article 14. And a service nut, I'm grateful for that!
I went to this place because of the menu items. I was visiting Atlanta, the menu looked good and the location seemed easy for me to get to .
The location is easy to reach and has( free0 parking available
I was rewarded by very good food with southern touches . The food was very tasty, the mimosas were good, and the general atmosphere was cozy , even with a birthday/ bachelorette party in neighboring tables.
I heartily recommend Article 14 as a place top visit when in Atlanta.
We have had dinner here many times and have loved it. However, it seems to have changed. The dinner menu is less dinner oriented and more lite bites. The wine list is disorganized, and there are only a few wines by the glass, if you can find them jumbled in their list. Wonderful staff, but restaurant is not like it used to be.
