Artichoke Cafe never fails to be enjoyable, although we both thought the kitchen was too heavy-handed with the spices, as our dishes were overwhelmed by the heat. I had the scallops diavolo, and, yes, I expected some heat. My husband had the crab cakes. The wine list could be extended and maybe include half bottles.

The Artichoke is just solid. It's a reliable fine dining destination. We were a party of four for dinner. The service started off a bit slow but I got the sense our waitperson had several tables seated at once. Everything after that ran well. The noise level is a bit high for this type of restaurant but I'm sure if you asked they would work to find a quieter table.

The entrees were excellent. I had scallops, which I immediately insisted my companions sample because they were, truly, the most perfectly prepared scallops I have ever had.

The desserts were a bit of a disappointment but flourless chocolate torte and creme brulee - well there's only so much you can do with those so not a deal breaker.

I'm grateful The Artichoke is here. I certainly can't afford it very often, but when I go I know I will be rewarded with an excellent experience.

We had a lovely time. Three of us had the pork chop and raved about it and the polenta. Had the Best lemon drop vodka martini I have ever tasted.

Lived in Albuquerque for several years and we've been to Artichoke Cafe a few times. It's not as if the food is bad it's just OK. Service is always friendly and attentive. I've never once left there and been impressed with the food. I don't care what the price is, I just want something to remember. I know people love this place and I can see how it might make for a memorable evening but if you're looking for cuisine to keep your coming back for more, search elsewhere.

This was our first time dining at The Artichoke Cafe and we were highly disappointed. The service was terrible. Our server was rude from the start, to the point we thought we had done something to offend him. My date's meal was undercooked, mine was nearly cold. We will not be returning.

A lovely place for everyday and special occasions. Excellent food , great service. A bit noisy but we were sitting in the bar. Our waiter was truly excellent. He made very knowledgable suggestions, was attentive without hovering, and helped make a special occasion even more special. He even brought a surprise birthday dessert which was the PERFECT finish to a birthday meal!

The artichoke was overcooked and the duck was undercooked , less than "medium rare" and hence tough (the knife would not cut it through). The duck had good flavour, what I could cut up and eat.

Loved the service and the decor. Great New Mexican wines. Was certainly satisfied with our meals, but have had many better Caesar salads and my ravioli was not as exciting as the ingredients led me to expect. Husband loved his Caprese salad and scallops, however!

Hits and misses. Sent steak back twice. Ordered pink got well done. Secondition try rare and bloody. Chicken was very good. Chef needs to go to a few French places to realize French onion soup should taste like beef stock and onion and not over taken with sage or rosemary. Also very little cheese.

I first visited Artichoke Cafe in 1996, and was pleased to see them still in business -- and apparently thriving -- 21 years later. Our server was attentive and informative, and my husband and I both enjoyed our meals very much. I would happily return if I'm in Albuquerque again.

Everything we ordered was well prepared and delicious. We started with an artichoke, given the name of the restaurant. It was quite good. My entrée was excellent and my wife's dinner salad was very fresh and tasty.

The wine I ordered was also very good. The service was leisure away but everything arrived fresh and hot. Overall the experience was excellent.

The experience overall was barely fair.

Spotty and at times questionable service. Our waiter was unfamiliar with the hard wax seal on the wine. He used his fingers to remove the wax on the mouth of the bottle - a little unhygienic. I ordered the duck which was moderately cool when served and the fingering potatoes were only warm and underdone. Our guest who ordered the same meal was served burnt potatoes - ugg.

The puree was served cold which I was not expecting; and wasn't sure if intentional.

The wine was excellent, a Morgon Beaujolais at a fair if not a bit high-price.

The noise level was distracting and our table was adjacent to the reception desk. Not a prime seat; and why would you even do that to a patron?

Artichoke Cafe is expensive ($218 including 20% tip for 3 entrees, one appetizer, two cocktails and a bottle of wine for three people: $72/person) and for the experience - not worth the price point. I'm from Chicago and it was big city pricing for an unremarkable meal.

Daryl in the parking lot could use a little lesson in customer engagement as he was friendly enough but came off as the "lovable" bouncer and barely looked up from his cell phone. We couldn't even get his attention to tip him. For a place that's touted as one of Albuquerque's fine dining experience I think there were far too many details left out.

Won't be returning unless our guests request it again.

Just excellent! Everything we had was bursting with flavor. Started with the crab cocktail - beautifully presented and the vinaigrette complemented all the ingredients. Also had the roasted garlic as an offset - the roasted garlic and olives, goat cheese, red peppers and baguette toasts came together wonderfully. For entrees we had steak-frites and the ravioli. Best frites I've ever had and we cleaned up every bit of the pasta sauce. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful with selections. Overall a great experience and will definitely go here on our next trip in the area.

Although pricey the scallops were beautiful and cooked perfectly. Slightly less sauce would have made them perfect. The flavor of the sauce was very nice, but so much takes away from the delicate scallops. We ordered an artichoke but had to send it back. We had to peal away more than half of the artichokes before we got to a leaf that wasn't too tough to eat. WAY undercooked. They offered to cook us another but we denied because it was getting too late. Their bread is nothing special, cold and absolutely nothing special. If they would start with delicious warm bread, cook their artichokes so the first leaf is al dente, and a little less sauce, it would be five star.

My friend had been to the Cafe several times; it was my first. I had heard many good things, and the experience did not disappoint. My friend had the chicken with curry and raved. I had the Caesar salad with (Hallelujah!) white anchovies. The real thing! I ordered a crab cake on the side. The waiter was attentive and friendly but not overly so.

The host was accommodating and also friendly. He gladly changed our table when I mentioned that the area where we had been seated was uncomfortably warm for me. He suggested another spot, and checked to make sure it was more comfortable. It was.

I look forward to going back there and trying some other items. Or maybe I'll have the Caesar salad again.

We had a very delightful special dinner. The service was impeccable. The food was very good although perhaps a little expensive. The artichoke which we have enjoyed on previous occasions felt a little under done. It's one of our favorite places to dine for a special occasion. Highly recommended.
