Hadn’t been here for several years, still doesn’t disappoint.
All in all a great experience. Their wine guru helped us select the perfect wine.
It was our first and last visit to this restaurant. We were given the wrong appetizer and my steak was overdone. The staff didn't really have any pride in the establishment. They were just "at work". And the prices were too steep for what you actually got.
My wife and I enjoyed Valentines Day dinner at Artichoke. We have been many times and are never disappointed. Despite it being a very busy day for the restaurant, the service was outstanding, as was the food (I had beef tenderloin, and my wife had a ravioli dish).
The Crab Cakes, Steak and Lamb were very good. The desert of Creame Brûlée was excellent! BUT the most OUTSTANDING feature was our fantastic waitress who has a delightful personality, warm, gracious, accommodating and a true professional. I believe my receipt identifies her as Chloe. She truly made our dining experience exceptional...
As always, incredibly delicious and worth every penny.
Special dinner, ambiance , menu and service were all fabulous.
The staff was positive, prepared and gracious. Dinner was excellent.
So happy we ordered the delicious steamed artichoke. Very nice.
A memorable Valentines Day.
Our favorite place for a date night romantic dinner!
Went here for a lunch date on Valentine’s Day. Food quality was very good. Service started out well, but waitress forgot to bring our drinks in a timely fashion. Quaint interior with interesting artwork and design.
Artichoke Cafe is one of our "go to" places. The menu is excellent, service is great, ambiance is good. The wine list is well built. Bottle prices are not "ouch" unless you select from the reserve list, and the selection of wine by the glass is exceptional.
Food was excellent and service was great even thought there were a couple of instances we felt rushed.
I had been twice before, what a gem ! I am from out of town, out of state.
Met some new friends for dinner, from ABQ, my treat, and I bragged on the place.
This time the place was OK, but not as great as I remembered ...everything was “ok, but nothing was memorable “
Food is solid but nothing to write home about. Not really worth the cost imho. Ambiance was okay. But the service was good.
Very good as usual. The food was tasty. The pork chop was done to perfection. Nice and quiet. Perfect place to have a conversation. The music was there to listen to but not so loud as to be intrusive. My only complaint is the lack of Domestic wines by the glass. California has wonderful wines as does Washington and New York. May be my problem in that I never developed a taste for European wines. Still, an excellent meal with attentive, not intrusive, service. We certainly will return
Excellent service for a pre-show evening with friends. Food was delicious and served beautifully.
Soup arrived luke warm as did main course. Some silverware dirty and had to be replaced. Disappointed.
We LOVE Artichoke and have been going there for many years - almost since it opened. They always make us feel welcome.
We always get great service and fabulous food. Artichoke is our “go to” place! Thank you!
I always enjoy going to Artichoke Cafe. I love looking at their impressive wine list and dreaming about ordering one of the many bottles I cannot afford! They have plenty of meat/poultry/fish options and one vegetarian option (for an entree). I do wish they had more to offer vegetarians (or people who just don't want to each a lot of meat) besides the pasta dish (which was very nice), salad, the occasional soup, and a few appetizers. If you want to order meat, though, you have plenty of options: duck, chicken, pork, steak, fish, scallops. Although I don't find their cuisine particularly creative, they do a good job with their fine-dining approach. I also like their cozy little wine bar.
Great food, great service.
Pear Salad was ok, calamari was very good and different. Pork Chop is outstanding and one of their top entrees. Duck was very disappointing, suggest they either do it correctly or remove from menu. Too little duck, not in a casserole, just not a traditional French style. Key lime cheesecake. Get real folks. As a native Floridian just do the real Key Lime Pie. Its way better than the cheese cake or any or variation of Key Lime dessert out there. Sure the crust variation is neat and I think that's fine. Also, portion was a little small. Seriously, go with the Key Lime Pie, Aunt Nellie's real juice with sweetened condensed milk and high quality egg yokes. Can't go wrong. But the Pork Chop is one of the best ever, even competes with Ranchers Club when they have one. Duck, stay away from the Duck. I love Duck dishes, but not this one.
We were visiting Albuquerque and been reading reviews on several restaurants. It was usually and hit or miss. Artichoke Cafe was a hit from the time we parked ( with an attendant watching over the lot) THe building had charm and the inside looked cozy. We were seated in a section that wasn’t full but it was intimate. After being seated we were offered a corner table because of a cancellation which made the evening more romantic.
Overall layout was simple but comfortable and elegant. The food was perfect, is size, taste and selection. Service was also equal to the ambiance and food
The food was excellent as always.
Our waiter was especially good with his approach and persona.
Made the time there even better.
Great food. First time with family. Will return.
I've been to Artichoke Cafe before and the food and service were always pretty good. This time our server disappointed us. He was not attentive, he didn't have a positive attitude (ok, everyone has a bad day now and again, but at least smile), he took orders for 5 drinks and got one wrong, he took a soup order and got that wrong. The bartender, Joanne (Joanna?), stepped in to help with order taking and delivering food and she was excellent! She was friendly, attentive to detail, and knowledgeable. I'll go back to Artichoke Cafe again and hope for a different server.
Artichoke remains one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque; however, our orders were underwhelming and barely warm on this visit. The restaurant was very busy on Saturday night and we were seated off the beaten track in the library so may have been forgotten in the rush. The atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly and we had a wonderful time. I had had a delicious lunch there the day before so I think and hope that the kitchen just had an off night.
Couldn’t handle special requests for someone in our party with a lot of food challenges. Kitchen is extremely inflexible in this situation. Almost gave up and left given the difficulties encountered in negotiations
Our service was extremely inadequate and food was less than marginal. We have dined here before and this was our worst experience.
