Outstanding food with a great variety of selections and excellent preparation and presentation. Service was excellent with the patience necessary to wait for us to walk our way through the different course selections.
Artichoke Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. Food is always excellent, service is too. My husband as usual started with a Caesar salad ( this one was colorful with mixed romaine lettuce), followed by prime rib. I started with tomato basil soup and had the crab cake appetizer as my entree. Perfect portions leaving room for essentials like dessert. Completing the meal was the cheesecake with candied ginger.. a nice lighter version.
The food was good. Our server was not especially attentive. We enjoyed our dinner none-the-less.
Very good food and service was amazing. One of our favorite date night spots.
I love artichoke cafe and we come sporadically. I do *usually think it’s one of the best restaurants in ABQ (our food scene is not great). This visit was disappointing however. I ordered the scallops which is one of their signature dishes and he scallops came out perfectly cooked and tender with a nice sear but completely COLD. I actually sent back the plate because I don’t eat cold food, which I have not done in quite some time. They did remake me an entire new dish and the second came out warm as expected. The flavors were good. The only other issue was the risotto, while tasty, was clearly RUSHED and crunchy. For a $39 entree I expect better. They gave us free dessert - a stingy attempt at apologizing in my honest opinion. They clearly would rather ensure they get as much money from me on this visit rather than work hard to make me want to come back. It’s so rare for a restaurant to go above and beyond to make up for poor service or food preparation. I would be embarrassed if I were the owner. Sad to leave this review as I love artichoke cafe, but you guys need to get it together.
The menu is creative and the portions are large. The pasta special- ravioli was especially tasty.
Service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our evening there.
Really delicious food, excellent cocktails, and outstanding service!
This is my favorite special lunch place. We celebrated my brothers birthday . He loved the shepherds pie . The red chili mashed potatoes accented this fabulous dish. The small muffins in the bread basket are just the right size and so delicious. The unsweetened ice tea is so refreshing. The service is always over the top! Love this place👍
Artichoke Cafe is our pick for our special occasion meals. The food is outstanding, beautifully presented and delicious. The service is elegant. I would like to see a bit of expansion to the menu but each dish is so well done that current menu is just fine. For diners that come more often than we do I do think variety would be a plus.
The shepherd stew was great - everyone loved the food and ambiance. Our service was a little slow for lunch-time but professional. Would always go back for great food.
Everything was excellent from the service to the food. Would go back if ever in the area again.
Host and waitstaff outstanding. Food was not a delicious as I would have expected. My dish felt greasy and heavy for ravioli. The salads were excellent. Nice place to dine.
Sam was an attentive waiter and our food was exquisite. This was our second visit in a week to Artichoke. The farm salad was fresh and tasty, the pork chop outstanding.
Wrong appetizer, stakes were hard, fries were super good.
Food was awesome. Dinning spaces were very nice too. Service was really good, but I can say our server’s personality was not of my liking. We all could plainly see the personality and service was great on purpose, not genuine. Sometimes could feel a little like we were a inconvenience by dining there. I only mention this because we spent $100/person avg, meaning this is a fine restaurant, great wines, and amazing food. I have higher expectations for the service too. To be clear, service was great, but personality was not.
The service was sub-par that evening. It seemed a bit chaotic as far as wait staff goes. The one guy's main job was handing out bread by coming around with the basket. Several times he went to the table next to us and didn't even think to ask any other tables. He seemed a bit lost, many times standing and just looking around like he was lost. Not impressed with service nor the food for the cost. I used to consider it my favorite restaurant, but sorry I can't say that anymore.
Great evening, good value
The chicken dish w/ grains did not taste good. Broccolini hard to cut if not impossible. Friend's chicken was dry. Mine was swimming in distasteful sauce and very little grain.
Other friend w/ scallops was great. I've had the salmon before and it was great.
Prefer my calamari fried. Artichoke always good, tho missed the aioli w/ garlic. With the bacon it was too heavy.
Sorry to say the above -
This is an exceptional Albuquerque restaurant. The food is great and ambiance is very nice. I recommend highly-you will not be disappointed.
DELICIOUS!! The scallops were worth every penny!! Will be back!!
Outstanding food, quiet adult atmosphere. Good service. Good wine list. Just a fine adult dining experience.
Expensive, but high quality in service, ambiance and food quality. Comparable to some of the best restaurants in Santa Fe and a thoroughly enjoyable meal with plates that were also beautifully presented. If you don't mind paying for this quality then would recommend for a business dinner or special occasion.
Hadn’t been here for several years, still doesn’t disappoint.
All in all a great experience. Their wine guru helped us select the perfect wine.
Wow!Excellent!!
Beautiful dinner with great service
It was our first and last visit to this restaurant. We were given the wrong appetizer and my steak was overdone. The staff didn't really have any pride in the establishment. They were just "at work". And the prices were too steep for what you actually got.
My wife and I enjoyed Valentines Day dinner at Artichoke. We have been many times and are never disappointed. Despite it being a very busy day for the restaurant, the service was outstanding, as was the food (I had beef tenderloin, and my wife had a ravioli dish).
The Crab Cakes, Steak and Lamb were very good. The desert of Creame Brûlée was excellent! BUT the most OUTSTANDING feature was our fantastic waitress who has a delightful personality, warm, gracious, accommodating and a true professional. I believe my receipt identifies her as Chloe. She truly made our dining experience exceptional...

As always, incredibly delicious and worth every penny.
Valentines
Special dinner, ambiance , menu and service were all fabulous.
The staff was positive, prepared and gracious. Dinner was excellent.
So happy we ordered the delicious steamed artichoke. Very nice.
A memorable Valentines Day.
With gratitude

Our favorite place for a date night romantic dinner!
Went here for a lunch date on Valentine’s Day. Food quality was very good. Service started out well, but waitress forgot to bring our drinks in a timely fashion. Quaint interior with interesting artwork and design.
Artichoke Cafe is one of our "go to" places. The menu is excellent, service is great, ambiance is good. The wine list is well built. Bottle prices are not "ouch" unless you select from the reserve list, and the selection of wine by the glass is exceptional.
Food was excellent and service was great even thought there were a couple of instances we felt rushed.
I had been twice before, what a gem ! I am from out of town, out of state.
Met some new friends for dinner, from ABQ, my treat, and I bragged on the place.
This time the place was OK, but not as great as I remembered ...everything was “ok, but nothing was memorable “
Food is solid but nothing to write home about. Not really worth the cost imho. Ambiance was okay. But the service was good.
Very good as usual. The food was tasty. The pork chop was done to perfection. Nice and quiet. Perfect place to have a conversation. The music was there to listen to but not so loud as to be intrusive. My only complaint is the lack of Domestic wines by the glass. California has wonderful wines as does Washington and New York. May be my problem in that I never developed a taste for European wines. Still, an excellent meal with attentive, not intrusive, service. We certainly will return
Excellent service for a pre-show evening with friends. Food was delicious and served beautifully.
