They where very short staff. Only had 1 bar opened and it took 30-45 mins to get a drink. The food didn’t have any seasoning except for the chicken wings. Told them we was Celebrating a birthday and they didn’t even knowledge it. I will not be back. The hotel is very nice.
Great ambiance along the river, terrific live music, only downside was inattentive service.
Was my first time dining for restaurant week and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my overall experience! Great drinks, food and service
Nice bartender, nice view, nice beers on tap, good date place
This restaurant had a great menu and the food that we received was good. Unfortunately, the Humus appetizer arrived after our main dishes, the side or one diner was mixed up and not replaced until after we were done eating and the salmon I ordered to go with my salad was never delivered. (Though all was billed.)
Then, after all the trouble, I get a message that the reservation was not eligible for point credit? Won’t be back!
The outdoor seating and the view is great. They had live music and over all it was a great experience.
Monday night with a great little quartet plus Sinatra-esque singer. Wonderful sound, outdoors.
Service was good. Food mediocre
This was a favorite brunch place with a nice view of the river from the outdoor patio. They have recently spoiled the serene atmosphere of the patio with Sunday loud live music that makes conversation impossible. Too bad. it is no longer on our favorites list.
Went for brunch on Saturday in the summer. Great views, ok food, but overall a hotel restaurant. Not much to look forward to if you aren’t sitting outside.
Table of 9 (two families with kids age 10-20) sat outside for breakfast on a picture perfect Saturday in July, just before a Duck Tour. Food was very good. Service was excellent. The server was very friendly and attentive. One meal came late and was taken off the bill without even asking. Nice view and location.
We had brunch. The life music was good. Food was good too, except the wait service was very bad. We ordered:
1. cesar salad with no anchovies, it came with the anchovie. Then it arrived 25 minutes later only after we asked about it.
2. 3 eggs omlette without cheese, it came with cheese.
3. Order hash brown, did not arrived. When asked, french fries came instead.
4. Order yogurt and granola, had to asked for it before it arrived.
5. Had to ask for croissant twice.
Almost every thing we orderedd had to ask for them again. We flagged down the bus boy or hostess for help. Finally someone as our table talked to the front desk.
Service was really slow but, one of our waiters went out of their way to make sure our drink looked amazing! He’s was awesome! Poutine was amazing also!
The food was awesome--our waitress was trying so hard. It seemed the manager was new or lacked social awareness and was confusing the situations. One of the individuals in our party went out of her way to be difficult so hard to know where the real opportunity was. Our waitress, however, went out of her way to fix any opportunities. I'll definitely be back for the view, drinks, and food.
We had planned to sit on the patio - but the wind picked up and sat inside. A mistake. The AC was blasting and the entire group even with jackets were freezing. Food was exceptional. We had the wings, calamari and tuna tar tar to start. Everyone enjoyed. Meals arrived hot and at the same time. Services was attentive and helpful. Would recommend for lunch when the sun is shining.
I ordered the "make your own" omelette with mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar. It came out with mushrooms only. There were birds all over the patio eating food off of tables that had not been cleared in a timely manner, and one even landed on a woman's head. Our waiter was very nice, but the service was slow. My friend at the blueberry ricotta pancakes and they were to die for!
Does NOT take reservations for outdoors, which was an unpleasant surprise. Outdoors was overloaded and everything took a lot of time. Food was meh. Location is great though...
We come to ArtBar to celebrate our anniversary each year and also in the summer to enjoy the patio seating. This year, we noted significant renovations to the indoor area and the new layout is great. Our server went above and beyond to make the evening memorable, greeting us with drinks and wishing us Happy Anniversary. The manager stopped by as well once we had our food to ensure everything was great. The food was delicious. We started with the burrata, which was soft and creamy. I had the ArtBar burger and it is definitely one of my favorite burgers I've had in my life . I had to have it cooked medium well (pregnant), but the burger was still juicy and tasty and came with toppings that just made it perfect. The sweet potato tatertots are fun and very yummy, not too salty or greasy. My spouse had the scallops and said they were very fresh and cooked perfectly. I can't wait to come back this summer to enjoy more of the great food and hopefully get out on the patio (it was raining when we went).
Way too noisy even with only a couple other tables. Acoustics are terrible
Three of us went on early Saturday evening, before a play. The service was a little slow (they seemed a bit overwhelmed by the crowd that showed up when we did). The food was good, not great. The fish tacos were cooked and presented well; they could have used more spicing. The pappardelle with truffles was excellent. The burger was fair.
Despite having reservations and being there on time, we were sat in a room by ourselves with zero ambiance where all the cereal and whatnot from their brunch bar was set up. I felt like I was dining at a dingy hotel chain on a Tuesday morning. This alone deserves the one star considering the reservation we had.
Our drinks were subpar: he ordered an old fashioned that tasted sour and watered down, I ordered a Paloma off their drink menu— too sour to drink. Both drinks had tiny little ice cubes like you’d get out of a hotel ice machine— shameful. We didn’t even drink them after a couple sips.
Burger was ok; bun was good but meat wasn’t really seasoned. Fries were soft. Calamari was crunchy but marinara tasted like it was from a jar. Wings app was good— nice and crunchy with a little tang to them.
Waitress was pleasant and attentive.
I imagine if you are out on the deck in the summer it’s nicer, but overall the biggest let down was the ambiance and the drinks were inexcusable. Won’t be going back.
Small restaurant. Good parking across the street in galleria mall. Fish tacos were not good (don't order) but the pasta with Mushrooms I think is the best dish I've ever had EVER. Can't wait to go back for that. Waiter was nice.
Let me start by saying, the food and service here were very good. My boyfriend and I were staying in the hotel for our anniversary and made reservations here on the last day to grab brunch before we left. We were very pleased with wait staff, the drinks, the food. However, this is NOT a restaurant. The hotel has clearly converted a conference room/banquet hall into a dining space. The kitchen was hidden behind a shoji screen. The overall experience was quite bizarre. While it was fine considering we were already at the hotel, I doubt I would ever go back to just the "restaurant" again.
Wow - what a disappointment. I'd been to ArtBar before and was happy to suggest it for a lunch gathering of coworkers in from out of town. What a mistake that was. It would've been really nice to get a heads up that we'd be dining in a CONFERENCE ROOM IN A HOTEL - not in the restaurant.
After being redirected down hallways to a conference room (the breakfast buffet was still set up from the morning), we were seated by someone who somehow kept a straight face, and then were promptly ignored for the next 20 min. Shocking considering there was one other group in the whole room.
Food was fine, but incredibly disappointed in the lack of service, much less acknowledgement of what we'd be walking into. Instead it felt like the crew tried to pretend it was business as usual.
I won't be back.
It took over an hour to get our second course and when we did receive it the food had clearly been reheated. Portions were cold while other portions were too hot. No one addressed the issue until the food was ready so we were left to sit wondering for an hour what was happening. We were ready to walk out when the food finally came so we stayed to finish. It was a 4 course prefix menu. The portions were oversized and the kitchen was off timing. Food was not good enough quality to make up for the poor service.
Exceptional service from waitress. She had great recommendations and was very attentive.
Absolutely ruined our Thanksgiving. The ambiance was 2nd rate Ground Round chain restaurant set in a convenience store; the food was really bad -- mushy oily stuffing, unseasoned sweet potatos, rhe cranberry sauce had NO SUGAR --really truly terrible. My daughter felt so sick from the horrible dressing and the very loud space that we asked them to Pack our meal. They packed
Up the horrible mushy vegetables and didn't include any of the dessert-- the only edible dish. Never again. Never.
We had a lovely delicious thanksgiving meal here and the staff could have been more kind and accommodating.
My husband and I drove in from the North Shore to dine for the Thanksgiving Dinner. When I read that the stuffing/dressing was made with brioche, I was excited. The price of $50/pp was in the middle of our price range, so we booked it.
The meal was delicious for the most part and the brioche stuffing was even better than anticipated. The turkey was the bomb- thick slices of white meat and smaller pieces of dark- also so tender. But no bread rolls? I admit, we should have asked why.
The dessert pies were very disappointing. The pie crust on one was rancid tasting. The bacon caramel sauce was a great idea, but was not tasty for some reason.
The whole staff was pleasant and we drove home happy and thankful.
We had our thanksgiving meal at Artbar. Food was great and server, Cornellia, was better.
The waiter was very helpful and made my son's birthday a special day!
My wife and I have had brunch/lunch at Art Bar on numerous occassions and have always found the food delicious, the ambiance relaxing, and the service excellent. I highly recommend “Texas in Cambridge” from the brunch menu and my wife has great things to say about the salads. We especially enjoy the patio during any of the warm months from spring through fall.
One of the few places where you can sit right on the water at this part it is the river beautiful view of the Boston skyline, boats the science museum. Indoor or outdoor dining ...both has views. very nice selection of Boston favorites salads and a good cocktail list. Only downside is when they do validate for parking is still going to cost you $15.
Had a higher expectation about this place. The overall ambiance was good, not a fancy place, not too simple either. Our waiter was quite nice and very attentive.
However, the food is below the expected standard for a place like that. Menu is limited and choices are quite unsophisticated, plain I might say. Food wasn't bad , but definitively not remarkable. Shrimp cocktail was on the skinny side and lacking taste for what we expected. Blackened fish tacos were subpar and I would think that the cook was sort of tired for the day since the garnishes were massive chunks as it came from the ground, plus a taco without cilantro is simply not a taco... it was a good piece of fish in between two small tortillas, but hardly a taco.
Drinks were also ok, not worth a second trip to try. SIgnature cocktail was 'meh', slightly pretentious as in trying multiple flavors to practically cancel themselves...
Would I go again? maybe, for some beers and a great view of the Charles River.
The worst lobster roll I ever had, extremely over priced
Service was great. We ordered lobster bisque, not only was it nasty, it was entirely to thick and the wrong color. My mother sampled and instantly sent back. The lobster rolls have a bigger piece of lettuce than lobster. and the lobster wasn't fresh. I was very chewy. Never again. A waste of my $73
This restaurant is a part of a hotel and it kind of feels that way. We had a nice time, the service was good, and the view is great, but I don't think I would go out of my way to go. We went because we were staying in the hotel. For that purpose it was great! Then again, we are vegetarians and while we were very happy to see options there for us, I generally seek out places that have more than a few options for me. Folks looking for seafood might have a different opinion.
We came here for a birthday celebration. Overall, this was an awful choice and nothing we ordered came out correctly.
The meal start off with our appetizer (corn dogs) being served with long (human) hairs tangled in the food. We were assured that this would be free of charge and another plate would be out shortly. Next, we received the 'pickles n' dip', which came without any pickles to dip in the hummus. At this point it's been 20 minutes since our first appetizer was taken and we still haven't received a replacement.
We ordered a burger cooked medium with a side of sweet potato tots. 20 minutes later the burger was served with the wrong side. Our waitress took the whole plate to switch the fries. She came back 10 minutes later with the same plate and told us to eat that burger and she would send out a separate side with the sweet potato tots. The burger was cooked rare, not medium, so only half was eaten. At this point we asked for the manager. In the meantime, the sweet potato tots came out, but did not come with the garlic aioli sauce it was supposed to have.
The manager came over and we explained how each dish we ordered was incorrect in some way. She promised us the meal was free of charge (although we didn't eat anything we were served). They came out with some free dessert for us.
After eating the dessert, we still had not received our first appetizer. As we left, the garlic aioli finally came for the sweet potato tots.
Bad food, service was poor.
Better service needed, salad wilted and pita chips stale
Derek was on point with everything.
I will return with some of my favorite people.
Date night is in order with my loves.
