We enjoyed an outstanding meal, as always! Never disappointed when we go to Arroyo Vino!
Arroyo Vino knows how to serve its customers with grace and without any pretension. This is a go-to place for my special and almost special occasions.
The food was delicious. The pork t-bones seemed a little small but very tender and there were 2. The new pasta with the crab was a little bland. The pasta with the egg had more flavor.
Outstanding as always. Okay this is only the second time we have eaten at Arroyo Vino so maybe "as always" is a bit of a stretch but remarkable isn't. With expectations as high as they were from out last visit Arroyo Vino still managed to surprise us with an appetizer we are already telling our friends about. It was their House Made Chicken Liver Pâté topped with strawberry preserves. Strawberry preserves. I did not believe it either when it was first served but not only was the Pâté one of the best we had ever had but the strawberry preserve topping just worked, it was a natural pairing but who would have thought it. But it is typical of the creativity present in Arroyo Vino's menu
a bit of a drive from town but worth it. not the tourist food of downtown, but instead best of class. a bit expensive, but the value is clear.
Ordinary food, over cooked and with little flavor was our 6 person group’s consensus.
We continue to enjoy eating at Arroyo Vino after moving to Santa Fe two years ago.
For us, the restaurant is a strong reminder of the 'look-and-feel' of very good Cape Cod restaurants we had gone to when we lived in the Boston, Ma area (for 31 years) and went to the Cape on vacations. The natural surroundings that the restaurant is placed within, the construction of the restaurant itself, and the effect at sunset.
From our opening the door to leaving, Arroyo Vino's service was very good. We felt 'at home.' We began with a very well prepared vieux carre before our meal and then had a glass of red wine with our dinner. Our server gave us a taste of two Italian Reds: one too tannic (edgy in my terms) and the second one much smoother. We both went with the smoother red.
We chose Arroyo Vino's cheese plate as our appetizer. We've had it before and enjoy the fact that the four cheeses are different from previous instances. The cheese plate comes with excellent honey, candied nuts, and figs and crackers. There needed to be a few more crackers: we could have requested them but decided we were 'close enough' to finish the few pieces of excellent cheeses with our fingers.
We both had the New York Strip medium rare: it was cooked exactly as we requested. The accompanying broth was a tad salty but we assumed that was a by-product of cooking the broth for the steak. The meal came with small potatoes and spinach.
For dessert, my wife had a superb strawberry shortcake: made with biscuits or some hybrid short cake/biscuit that stood up to the strawberries. She is a traditionalist and remembers and enjoys her grandparents and parents making strawberry shortcake in that manner. I had and enjoyed the cinnamon crumb cake that came with a scoop of Bailey's ice cream.
As usual, the server brought our bill with two pieces of very well made home-made caramel.
Arroyo Vino remains in our rotation of very good restaurants in Santa Fe.
Service was not as attentive as we are used to
I had to ask for a water refill
We were parched halfway through dinner
The food was excellent but I think refilling water is pretty basic service.... we shouldn’t have had to ask.
The menu was interesting, food delicious and server top notch! We live nearby and will come back often.
What a great place, filled with happy faces and exquisite food. A glorious night for all of us. Our server was just...psh!
Amazing experience time after time at Arroyo Vino!
Wonderful service and delicious food!
While it is expensive, it's a good place to go for a special occasion. My favorite dish has always been the Moroccan chicken, and I was looking forward to it because I saw it was on the online menu. Disappointed to find out that it was not on the menu! My barramundi was not cooked correctly, but all ended well because the waiter whisked it back to the kitchen where another was prepared. Was disappointed to find no Sauvignon Blanc on the menu, but the Greek wine was an interesting replacement
Outstanding food and service. The chef at Arroyo Vino seems to be hitting her stride. The recommended items on the menu we had were outstanding (the pate as a shared starter, the raviolo, and the barramundi (could have been a bit more seasoned/salted and the dash a bit richer). But an out of this world special starter (which we recommend be on the regular menu) was a thin cut tuna sashimi with capers, califlower, and Calabrian chili). As always, food and wine service were exceptional. Arroyo Vino is clearly one of Santa Fe's best restaurants and one of our most favorite.
We gave Arroya Vino 5 stars in all categories not because we were lazy but because we found it to be that good. Service, ambience and food were all excellent. We started with the cheese plate with four Artisan cheeses and really outstanding honeycomb and Candy pecans and crostini . For our entree we had Ricotta Cavatelli with braised rabbit, arugula pesto and baby carrots which was just incredibly good. We also had T bone lamb chops with a cauliflower and farrow sauce, which was so good it could have been served on its own.
And for dessert vanilla Greek yogurt panna cotta with poached rhubarb, pistachio brittle crumbles , and lemon meringue. Just reading the incredients in these dishes can give you some idea of how really outstanding they were, but as they say you really needed to be there but you can be. And we had tasty spirts.
Arroyo Vino is consistently outstanding--- we love dining there! Great atmosphere for catching up with friends, beautiful and quiet (but still energetic) space with lovely décor and views. Lovely menu with something delicious for everyone at the table. The wine list is superb but don't miss out on the cocktails- there are some fun and tasty options on the menu! Professional and friendly service caps it all off.
This restaurant is always the best experience . The ambience is perfect, the service is discreet and excellent and the food always delicious....will always be back for another amazing evening
This is my favorite restaurant in the world. Everything was great
We had a wonderful dinner! Our waiter was sublime, and I really appreciated how much he was accompanying my dietary restrictions. The wine was beyond good, the fish perfectly cooked and we had a lovely dinner. Will definitely comeback!!
Incredible dining experience. Just head towards the sunset and enter Arroyo Vino. Refreshing, our dishes were well balanced. Wonderful depth of flavors, surprising combinations of ingredients all delighted us!
Relaxed, friendly, helpful staff!
Nearly perfect. First the good parts: The cuisine is delicious. My wife had the branzino, which she loved. The chef provided two off-menu choices to meet my vegan needs; I chose the pasta, which was excellent. The wine list is extensive and well balanced; we had a delicious white Chateauneuf du Pape, which, at $115, was well-priced. Our server, Jonathan, was very good. So what wasn't perfect: lots of attitude. When we arrived for our reservation, we were shown to a two-top near the door. If there is a worse table in the place, this was surely a contender. We asked about some empty nearby four-tops and were told that they were unavailable. Right after we sat down, a party of two was seated at one of them. Soon after that, the other was re-set for two. The room didn't fill, and didn't look like it was going to. It would have been a perfect evening, but the attitude up front cast a pall. Absent that, Arroyo Vino was likely to go near the top of our rotation for Santa Fe restaurants. Now we're likely to go again, but not too soon.
The 3rd chef at this relatively new restaurant has had a year to perfect her own menu and based on our visit, has done very well. We mostly had specials and they were inventive and excellent (a dynamite combo!) Service, as always was excellent, informative and engaging. Overall, the menu seems a bit less pricey than previously. Spacing in the dining room was great and they are part of a wine store and have an awesome selection.
As always, a perfect and relaxing dinner. The service is warm and welcoming; the food was interesting and engaging and the wine list is first rate. We dine at Arroyo Vino every time we visit Santa Fe and it never disappoints. On this visit, the sweet potato ravioli and the pasta with house-made Calabrian sausage were standout dishes.
One other thing: in an age when many restaurants elevate noise over elegance, Arroyo Vino stands apart. It is such a pleasure to eat in a lovely environment where you actually can carry on a conversation with your companions. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
My husband and I live close by and have frequented this restaurant over the past several years. This was by far the best meal we have had there. We both totally enjoyed the entrees we ordered - he the special fish dish (barramundi), and me the pasta with clams. We also enjoyed being surrounded by such excellent art on the walls.
Consistent excellent food...wonderful, friendly service!
A wonderfully comfortable environment coupled with attentive informed service and very fine food. We will go back and look forward to doing so when their ambitious garden is in season. Arroyo Vinois out of town and a bit remote but very much worth the drive
Great as usual. Wonderful redfish
The Arroyo Vino staff greeted us with warmth and exuberance, making us feel very welcome. Chef's preparations were fantastic -- we love her food and creativity, and she's batting 1000 with us. The service we received from Mary Francis, Julian, Hannah, Michael, Jonathan was top notch. The only disappointment was co-owner Brian's lack of people skills; frankly, he was downright rude.
Went for both the afternoon wine tasting and then dinner. Enjoyed both tremendously. Mary Francis did an excellent job of pairing wine with our 5 courses. Our waiter Jonathan was wonderful in walking us through how to do a tasting type dinner without a specific one offered. The clam cavatelli dish was outstanding. We will definitely be back!!
Arroyo Vino uses the best raw ingredients and has a chef who uses those to the best advantage. When my brother came from Tokyo, this was the place I took him to dinner.
Excellent menu.... delicious food!
Menu was outstanding in variety and quality and the staff was extremely professional and courteous.
never had a bad experience in the last year!
As usual everything was first rate
AV gets better and better // Chef has really settled in and delivers each course at a very high level //
Flavors were complex and worked well together // Our table of 4 had 4 different entrees and each one was outstanding // Service with Jonathan and Mary Francis could not be better // AV CONTINUES TO DELIVER FROM START TO FINISH //
Love Arroyo Vino. Mediterranean Branzino and Tuna were delicious!
Delicious and sophisticated. Great wine list with terrific help from the staff.
Pretty. Good wine selection. Great value for restaurant week
Great food and exceptional service in a beautiful location. Truly one of Santa Fe’s best restaurants! The staff pays attention to food allergies and is very flexible in accommodating special needs. Truly an exceptional evening.
outstanding service and wonderful ambiance with amazingly delicious food
