Our steaks are aged and hand cut daily and then perfectly seared in a 1,500 degree oven. Traditional steakhouse side dishes include creamed spinach, baked potatoes, asparagus spears with hollandaise sauce, and Arroyo Chop House's famous onion rings. We also offer live Maine lobster and fresh fish, Alaskan King Crab legs, fresh oysters, and shrimp. Compliment your meal with a bottle from our award-winning wine list and finish the night with one of our delicious desserts such as a Grand Marnier soufflé, warm apple pie, butterscotch pudding or chocolate pecan pie.
Best steak I ever had but really expensive. Unfortunately I can only afford for special occasions.
Its an old stand by in the Pasadena area. Can't say anything bad about it. The food is good. The service is good. Really enjoy the Caesar Salad prepared table side. Cocktails are pleasant and refreshing.
Best steaks in LA. Just ate their last night and once again reminded why the steaks are the best. Extensive wine list with the best wait staff.
Good quality meats always
Good service, food and ambience.
If you don't want to go to Ruth Chris or Flemings this is a great alternative steakhouse and try the chocolate souffle.
Arroyo is pricey $$$$ but a great dining experience. Service is excellent.
It's a favorite of mine. Love the presentation and though its a steakhouse, the also have a great lobster dish.
Great accessibility with shared parking for this restaurant and the Parkway Grill on the opposite side of the driveway.
The service was wonderful and the food was delicious!
Was visiting the area from out of state. Visited the Getty & stayed in Pasadena. Bucket List kind of journey. Found Arroyo Chop online. Amazing Amazing Amazing!! Our waiter was fun & informative. Just a lovely evening. To all with Chop House. Beautiful food, beautiful evening. Recommend to one & all!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Excellent meal. Great service - minor glitches were handled promptly and with grace. This place makes fantastic steaks and wonderful sauces. Their "birthday cupcake " is a little pathetic compared to what other restaurants do, but overall we love this restaurant.
Too many great qualities about this restaurant to mention - Just go and have a great time!
This place NEVER fails me. I can always look forward to a great cut of beef every single time. The bartenders always seem to make the perfect drink and the BBQ shrimp is definitely a MUST!
Always great.
Excellent service and food was supper - a little noisy, but it was doable.
Thanks to all the staff at Arroyo Chop House
What a great place for a first date and romance..... loved the food and the service.
We decided to have fun and splurge on a Thursday night meal. I have eaten here a few times before and had great experiences. We were seated in the covered patio area near a larger group and some four tops. We knew quickly what we wanted and ordered. It took 45+ minutes for our order of two medium rare ribeye and a side of mushrooms to come to the table. The mushrooms weren't hot or seasoned enough. Disappointed in this visit to Arroyo Chop House, but I'm sure we'll give it another try. I'm happy to spend $$$, but expect that to be matched with quality service and food.
My first time here. Celebrating my brother’s retirement. The crabmeat cocktail impressed me the most. The drinks were super. So was the Zin I had with dinner. The service was very good but I would not say exceptional. I ordered the soufflé moments after I sat down as I read online one needs to do if this is the dessert you desire at the end of your meal. When that time came and I mentioned it to the waiter, it appeared he did not make a note of it or write it down and had a pained look on his face. That did not make me a happy camper. However, within 2 - 3 minutes, a marvelous soufflé was delivered to me. It was fantastic! My steak was done perfectly but it was definitely too salty. My brother also had his steak prepared the same way as mine and it was the same cut – but his was rare to be sure, and not medium rare. He’s more kickback than I am so he did not want to send it back. However, I don’t expect that to happen at a steakhouse of this caliber. Also, I had wanted to order their peppercorn sauce to go along with my steak. I forgot to mention it but I wished our server would’ve asked me if I wanted one of their many sauces to go along with my steak. That would’ve jarred my memory. Too bad he didn’t.The side dishes were fantastic, especially the creamed spinach. I will probably revisit again sometime soon. But there is a lot of competition in Pasadena for fine dining. Also, had to wait 15 minutes for the valet to park the car. That was definitely not a plus. And this was a Thursday night.
Our dining experience was amazing. The food was wonderful and Tom our server was outstanding. He was very personable and attentive to our table. The only down part of our experience was the manager who was very passive to us when we asked him to come over to tell him how wonderful our server was and the food. He wouldn’t look us in the eyes and was trying to leave before we were finished speaking. He made us feel like we weren’t important at all. Being a manager myself, I know managers are suppose to touch every table and engage with customers. This was clearly not the case for this guy.
Best place always. Good food and good atmosphere. Good times
The food was absolutely amazing and so was the service! Blair was great and ensured we had a great experience from start to finish. Definitely will be returning!
Classy steak house with excellent food and service.
Beautiful restaurant. Dark, beautiful wood finishes. The diners were lively yet the energy-level of the room was not over the top. Our personable server recited a list of specials that was somewhat long and with a degree of complexity - we were impressed! The food- halibut and crab cakes - was wonderful, along with our cocktails. We plan to return and would recommend Arroyo Chop House without hesitation. And yet, I do have one personal gripe. It was our 35th wedding anniversary. I posted it on the reservation through Open Table and told the host. We did receive a lovely handwritten note and orchids. When taken to our table, we were only offered a choice of small booths. A large booth sat vacant but since it was not offered, I assumed it was reserved for a larger party. And then a party of 2 was seated at the large booth. Ours was too small for me to sit next to my husband for a selfie! It could have been the perfect evening.
Very nice experience, but a little loud for this hearing impaired diner.
The place was literally empty when we got there at 5:00, plus I had reservations, and yet we still had to wait for a table. The ambiance was spectacular, I was impressed. The service was good, not great. Food was tasty. Overall a good experience but a little pricey.
Food was good. My steak - New York - medium - was good at the beginning but a little dry at the end. My husbands - New York - medium rare - medium rare at the beginning and rare at the end. BBQ shrimp was amazing but overpriced. Sides were good. Dining experience was a little long. Little over 2 hours for just two of us. Apple Pie was okay. Beverages overpriced $5 for a cup of coffee and $5 for coke. We were celebrating our anniversary-there was a nice card and flowers on the table when we arrived. Nice touch. Overall the experience was nice.
There's been so many years that I've driven by Arroyo Chop House and never taken the time to go there--big mistake! We were there to celebrate a retirement and based on a recommendation 9 years ago to try Chop House. Server was friendly, knowledgeable, and was able to accommodate our group of 5, even though most of the appetizers were for 4 or less. Sour dough and garlic bread was delicious. Shrimp appetizers and scallop appetizers were large and cooked perfectly. Ribeye steak was probably one of the best I've tasted and beef skewers as well as filet were cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. Hard to get halibut cooked nicely and it was juicy and delicious Corn souffle and lobster mashed potatoes were gobbled up and relished. We were really full, none of us were able to finish our entrees and sides (asparagas and beans) but we decided since everything else had been so good we might as well try the chocolate souffle. WOW! Even the non-chocoholics were convinced it was the best souffle we had ever had. Great place for a special celebration or just a nice dinner!
Everything was terrific as usual. PLEASE PLEASE BRING BACK THE TABLE SIDE CESEAR SALAD!!!!!!!
Our 2nd time at this restaurant. Bartender was absolutely amazing! Our drinks were the best we’ve had! He was super busy but still made the time to answer our questions about their specialty cocktails and seemed happy to do it. Before we were sat at our table we were warned that there were 2 large tables that were very loud. The manager had already asked them to quiet down, but he said if it was still too loud they would do their best to move us. The groups of people were obnoxiously loud, they should have been embarrassed about how loud they were. They happily moved us to another room and we were served an outstanding meal! Awesome service!
Never a problem or negative experience. Been several times and we've always been pleased with overall beginning to end on all aspects. You owe it to yourself to visit and I'm sure you'll keep this on your list.
Still a good experience 4th time there. Food is always delicious, however had to check on my drink twice because waiter forgot all about it, which was okay he probable had a long day. Overall great place to wine & dine.
Birthday- we got a card in an envelope and a free cupcake. We had an enjoyable time. Food decent and large portions. Definitely pricey.
The way the restaurant is set up, allows for different sections, and we were in a section of all booths with a glass partition. We were dinning much earlier than normal, but by the time we left, the place was packed! We were coming from a play at the Pantages and my mom had not been here before. We’ve celebrated at Parkway grill but never had she been here, the staff was beyond accommodating, we had booked on open table and we weren’t able to make the time but they let us come in a little late. The wine glass pour is very generous, and the drinks from the bar were well made. I had just by chance been here during restaurant week and got to try my steak “Oscar style” then, and was really quite delighted when I asked if they were able to do it again tonight and they did! (Oscar style: Béarnaise sauce, a ton of crab, and 4 spears of asparagus) worth it!! Our server was really good too, I can’t remember her name, but she was very sweet! They have someone refilling water, clearing plates out of the way, just wonderful service- Ill be back!
The Arroyo Chop House has maintained its quality, integrity and consistency since we started going over 15 years ago. Yes, some faces have changed, but if you want an excellent cocktail, whoever is tending to the bar that night can make that happen. The wine list is expansive, with a variety of opportunities available.
We were seated in the enclosed outdoor room next to the water feature. Was it the most perfect spot in this area of the restaurant - maybe. To compare, next time we are going to ask to be seated by the fireplace in the same room. Both locations are fine.
The service was perfect. Whatever we needed, no issues, no mistakes, no rush. Really well done.
The food is always great. The BBQ shrimp salad is a classic. We usually share it since we want to order so many other items. This night we were ordering from all over the menu, surf and turf, cowboy steak, creamed spinach, etc. The 4 of us were quite satisfied.
Well worth it even if a bit pricey (but I would not suggest price discourage anyone from going) because you will get what you pay for on every level.
Everything was great. But two guests had a bad piece of steak. We usually get amazing quality here. We are regulars. But this time two out of 12 were bad pieces. Disappointing.
