Food was terrific, service great but the noise level was unbearable. The room we were seated in has wooden ceilings and they amplified the already loud guests at other tables.
I will not be going back unless I get to sit it an area where we can hear each other and our server when he/she tries to interact.
Food was TO DIE FOR. Both hubby and I agree it was the best steak we have ever tasted. A bit pricey, but we knew that going into it. They gave us a card and some orchids for our anniversary which were really sweet. Our server seemed less pleasant and more rushed than the other servers who seemed to take their time with other guests. However, overall I’d definitely recommend it. Hubby says he wants to come back for his birthday!
The Arroyo is my FAVORITE place for an anniversary meal. Great service, AWESOME steaks, and amazing ambiance.
Food was excellent, everything was cooked to perfection. Service was great, as well. Will definitely go back.
I am sure that there is a better steak experience somewhere, but in my journeys across the City, State and country I have not found it. Even Peter in Brookly can't top it for me. Steaks aged and cooked proper, classic sides with just enough of a twist (jalapeno corn souffle, lobster mashed potatoes, cream spinach). And a lively fun feel. Celebs, old school Uber wealthy regulars, boys proposing, and people who just want the best meat they can eat all should up on any given night. And don't you dare drop by without ordering the souffle.
Had my birthday celebration here and couldn't have made a better decision to dine at The Arroyo Chop House! THANK YOU for making it special!
Arroyo Chop House is a special treat every time we eat there. It's a long standing favorite.
The staff is excellent, and it's an testimony to the basics. GREAT quality food, excellent ambiance and the staff is top notch.
Great food, great service. Overall, a great experience.
High end place in all ways. Food lives up to the hype, exquisite service & friendly staff!
We dined here for my mom's birthday. The food is spectacular, and the ambiance is nice and comfortable for a semi-fancy dinner. I actually quite liked our server. The one issue I had was that we were told at the beginning of our meal that there was a reservation for our table following us so that we had to be done by a certain time. There may be perhaps a better way to convey the message rather than at the start of the meal, before we all even sat down. While I understand the logistics, it just felt unnecessarily unwelcoming.
My BF asked for Medium well and he got medium. I asked for butterfly medium rare and got charred steak. The server was very friendly, but was too busy (maybe they were short staffed?) and he didn’t check on us as much as I think he should have (especially for the price that we paid to dine there). Overall, I would not go back, but had a good time regardless because of my awesome and handsome BF.
Always exceptional and a dinner I always look forward to. My only complaint is that sometimes it can get very loud...I mean VERY loud. Food and beverage and service is exceptional.
I bring a group of customers to the Arroyo Chop House every year and the food and service are consistently top notch. I worked with Zoe, one of the hostesses, as far as the arrangements and then our server Robert took great care of our group.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Only downside too dark and too loud.
I still think this is the best rib-eye steak in LA.
I booked the reservation same day and they had a hand written note and two orchid stems for my mother's birthday, which was very appreciated. All the food was delicious and the service was great!
we have been to this spot too many times to count - never had a server not mention his name... we had our favorite server stop by 3 times so that made the visit enjoyable. You will not be disappointed in the food and atmosphere - what a great spot.
I had the surf and turf with garlic mashed potatoes. It was sooooo good.
I was disappointed in the service and the food. The server was cold and inattentive. The steak tartare was lacking flavor. The rotisserie chicken was dry. The garlic bread could’ve used more garlic/seasoning. The tea selection was poor. The tableside ceaser salad was not as flavorful as the last time we ordered-the taste quality should be consistent. I don’t think I’ll be returning. Houston’s never disappoints. A waste of $200. It was my son’s first time and he wasn’t impressed-and I had raved about it. I felt I had lied to him. I had 5 pm reservations on 3/17. Overall quality, service, and taste need improvement.
For a special occasion, it's hard to beat. Excellent service, food, and wine & liquor list make it an exceptional dining experience. Since you get what you pay for, it remains a special occasion place for us . . . but your special occasions are worth it, right?
Took my fiancee here for her birthday the second year running as it's her favorite place, and it did not disappoint. The ambience is great, very cozy and good for enjoying a nice time with someone you love. They had special birthday flowers & dessert for her. The service was outstanding as always. We will continue coming back here every year for her birthday.
Kenny made the whole experience a great evening!
Arroyo Chophouse never disappoints. Still one of the best steakhouses around. We much prefer it to Morton’s, Ruth’s Chris, etc. Love the Wagyu beef but all their USDA Prime steaks are wonderful, particularly bone-in selections. Good seafood options as well. Great side dishes, wonderful wine list. Try the barbecued shrimp appetizer or the Caesar salad to start. The half & half bread ( half sourdough/half garlic bread) is the way to go. But the ‘must have’ is the Grande Mariner Soufflé. Perfect for sharing, light and flavorful. Highly recommend Arroyo Chophouse.
I have been to this restaurant many times and never experienced bad food or bad service. Excellent quality food and 5-star service, our server, Madison even went the extra mile to get me a cappuccino across the restaurant due to their machine was in maintenance, best of all he put it on the House! Can’t find this kind of service anywhere else.
This was my first time at the Arroyo Chophouse. I took my bf there for his Birthday and we enjoyed it very much. Our server, Stephanie E., was amazing, friendly, cordial, and provided excellent customer service. She was very attentive, provided great suggestions and explained how things work there. The BBQ Shrimp was great but the sauce was even better - make sure to save some of your bread to soak it up! I ordered the Filet Mignon and he ordered the Wagyu Filet - both cooked medium rare. The Filet Mignon was perfect, tender, flavorful and 11 oz! His was tender, more bold in flavor, and 6oz. The pricing isn't bad or more than Houston's, but cheaper than Ruth's Chris. If you're looking for a good steak at a decent price, considering all local steakhouses, Arroyo is a good place that still take reservations. Everything is A La Carte though, so make sure you share!
Food was perfection. Service was excellent. Will be back!
My boyfriend and I enjoy this restaurant. It’s our favorite. I had a surprise birthday dinner for him and it was amazing!! It was 4 of our guests first time and they loved it. We always ask for Thomas the server. He’s fantastic! This was the perfect birthday dinner!!! Thank you Thomas and Arroyo Chop House. Everyone from Mike the bar tender to the ladies that sat us. Everyone was awesome!!!
When we arrived, nearly a half hour before our reservation time, we were told we would be seated on time and it was suggested we have a drink at the bar. This we did. Fifteen minutes past our reservation time I went to the desk and asked when we would be seated. They apologized and said in two or three minutes. We were offered appetizers on the house and seated in a few minutes. The great lobster bisque arrived almost immediately. However, we were seated in a small side room and I felt like we were shuttled off to a room for riff-raff and I think they had overbooked, perhaps expecting no-shows because it was a rainy night. Our server, Thomas, told us how busy they were and went out of his way not to neglect us, stuck off in that room as we were. The food was marvelous and we lingered over our meal. Then when I looked at my phone when we got home, I found that Arroyo Chop House had told Open Table we were no-shows. Not true!
This was our first visit to Arroyo Chop House and will definitely be my last. We decided to come to celebrate my mother in law’s 70th Birthday.
We started with an 8:00 reservation for 14. I get it, it’s a large group. So us getting seated in a timely manner was expected to be delayed due to the size of our group. We finally get seated at 8:50.
As we are barely getting seated into our chairs our waiter starts asking us for our drink orders, we haven’t even had the chance to locate a drink menu much less glance at one to even consider a drink other than water. Once our water was brought to us we were offered their garlic bread and sourdough bread. The bread was pretty good, but our waiter never asked our table if any one of us cared for another drink beside water.
After what felt like a lifetime we had to tell our waiter ourselves that we were ready to place our order. Apparently he was too busy to check and see if we were ready.
At the time we placed our order, we weren’t notified if there were any specials or how their menu worked. I asked the difference between the Filet Mignon and the Wagyu Filet and the waiter gave me some basic explanation of the wagyu which did nothing to clarify the difference to me. So I proceeded to order their Filet Mignon med-rare. We waited another lifetime to receive our meals (9:45pm) and was never checked on in the meantime to see if we cared for another drink or more water or anything. My med-rare steak arrived more like med-well, very little pink. So unfortunately I had to send it back. They were pretty quick to bring my second Filet Mignon, this time my med-rare came rare/raw. I gave up. I decided I would just take it home and cook it a little more myself.
My husband ordered the cowboy ribeye med-rare. His steak was a solid okay, but once he reached the middle of his steak, his med-rare was more med-well.
We wanted my mother in law’s birthday to be special, but honestly, there was absolutely nothing special about our experience.
Just had a great dinner with 4 friends celebrating our friendship for the past 19 years when we all had babies. Lorenzo was our waiter and is the best of the best! Steaks were perfect and so was the fish dishes. And chocolate and grand marnier soufflés were devine!
Excellent food, steaks done rught where medium is medium. Servers are attentive but not intrusive.
The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I recommend the bacon wrapped scallops and crab cakes for an appetizer!
Arroyo Chop House is always a good place for dinner. The food is consistently good and some things are really great. The veal chop was delicious and perfectly cooked. My friends had steaks and said the same thing. Three of us shared two salads. One was a special salad and the other was a caesar. Both were fair, nothing special. We also ordered corn and spinach sides. Both good. We'll be back again.
A classic! I took my husband here with the family for his 60th birthday. Everything was absolutely wonderful! We will definitely be back soon.
We had terrific service from Stephanie.
In addition, the folks on the phone were wonderful in that we were flying in from Northern CA, and it appeared our flight would be delayed. They indicated they would work with us to accommodate us.
As always the food was superb, and the wine list is amazing.
Such a special treat!
The food here is always delicious and the service is great. I highly recommend it.
Normally, we love Chop House, nut it was off its game on March 1. Tbe kitchen was slow (35 minutes between the salad and main course). The salad was not good. Dessert was another 30 minutes. We could not hear the piano which we always enjoy. It just wasn't its usual "home run" evening.
I had a great overall experience. The food was amazing as well as the service.
