Arrowleaf Bistro Ratings and Reviews
This is our second trip to Arrowleaf Bistro. We find the team there to be delightful. We love the hostess; this is the second time she has seated us. Frankly, I want her to be my friend. We were seated next to a large party so it wasn't as quiet as our first trip. It certainly wasn't loud either. My husband was thrilled as they were very understand of his celiac disease requests. His cocktail was on point. We will go back next time we visit Methow Valley. Thanks!
We have been going to Winthrop for over 30 years and have eaten at this establishment when the venue was still in town. They have recently moved to their new location just outside the town - a new building with lots of wood and warmth, tables well spaced and the same good service and food that one would expect at this price point. We liked the old place for ambiance, but the newer building has more room and better parking facilities. Overall it was excellent.
This is our all time favorite restaurant. We love the food, but the owners and staff make it a place to return to often. We live more than 300 miles away, and yet we try to visit at least once or twice a year, just for the experience. The service is outstanding and even the limited menu choices allowed us to eat there three nights in a row. Anyone visiting Winthrop should include at least one dinner here.
We had reservations and were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation. Noise level of conversations in the dining room made having a conversation difficult. Server was gracious and attentive. Service was a bit slower than I would have expected. Food was excellent. Portions were very reasonable. Overall experience was good, not great.
It may have been the worst meal we've ever had. The 'fresh' fish could not be cut, even with a knife and was returned. The local lamb was delivered well done, although ordered medium rare. It also was extremely tough and difficult to cut. The caesar salad was that in name only. The lettuce was wrong, the croutons were stale. No achovies. The wine was a cab in name only. Very sweet. Not a good experience.
Great evening out. We ordered the special lamb, which was great with huckleberry reduction and polenta. Also had the chicken, another great choice. Portions were large, so next time we will share and entrée and order salads or appetizers to go alongside. Service was slow but it was a holiday weekend. That being said, we did not feel rushed along which was nice. Top-notch ingredients with perfect presentation and technique.
We thoroughly enjoy the Arrowleaf Bistro and we make a point of eating there the first night every time we are in the area. The craft drinks are exceptional and the bartender is very insightful. The menu consistently offers excellent choices and we haven't been disappointed. It is a must stop.
First time i was in the dinning room. Been to the bar a lot and i'm always happy with the food, drinks and servile but my experience in the dinning room topped it all. service was great drinks where awesome and the food was absolutely out of this world. To be honest it is pricey but if your treating the right person to an amazing night there is no better place in the valley to take someone special. Thank you Arrowleaf!!!
My husband and I ate here based on the reviews and we also wanted to have a nice dinner because we were in Winthrop for an anniversary weekend. My husband had been looking forward to having the lamb and when he ordered he was told they were out. I ordered the risotto and was told they were out of that also. Granted, we were there on a Monday, coming off the weekend, but we were both disappointed. My husband ordered the steak frites and thought it was good. I ordered the fish cakes which were flavorful but a bit too salty. The service was good, the restaurant nice and the noise level high.
Have dined at Arrowleaf Bistro once or twice a year for several years...whenever we visit Winthrop. Have to say the quality of the experience has declined since the move. Service is slower and the food, though clearly trying to be exceptional, has consistently not been as good as it used to be. We're glad the restaurant is doing well; hope the quality catches up!
We had a wonderful surprise when we got there. Food was delicious, we had a perfectly cooked Alaskan halibut and delicious smoked trout crab cakes. Food was beautifully presented in the plates. A very good surprise as well with their sweet corn as a starter. A must in the town.
Came here based on reviews. The appetizers were very good, although I was sad they didn't have oysters as listed. We were with our 10 year old and once seated found there were no presented options for children. We ended up ordering a full sized pasta entree for her which I regret as she didn't like it. I should have asked, but I do think a server should proactively tell you one way or another whether they offer any dishes for children. I ordered the smoked trout cakes and they were very salty, I could barely eat half the dish. The service was kind, but very slow throughout. Clearly this place is popular but for me it just missed the mark, like it's trying too hard.
Disappointing. Appetizers were the best part. Braised lamb typical bistro food, risotto was under-cooked and chewy, smoked trout cakes were nothing special. Wine by the Glass selections were, unfortunately, like many Wine by the Glass selections. Not very true to variety and tended to the residual sugar side of "dry".
This restaurant is a gem in the Methow Valley. If you like meat, there are always great options as the chef's father was a butcher. He shines on the fish, fowl, and vegetarian options as well. Always locally sourced when possible. Friendly atmosphere. The chef's wife works the front room and will make you feel instantly at home. For a less pricey/quick option sit yourself at the bar and have a cocktail or a beer and whatever grabs your fancy from the menu. The desserts are very top notch - may be as simple as the best blueberries around, or a perfectly executed creme brulee.
My wife and I were having a date night dinner, special but not like an anniversary dinner.
We had so much fun, and the dinners were so good, it became a night to remember - really.
We get treated so nicely, granted we know most of the staff to some degree, but there is such a great spirit there, it's like we have small genuine visits with friends - even tho they are at work. The food was the best, great flavors, unpretentious and cool presentation.
We like to have a drink or cocktail and the choices are always well chosen and the drinks well made.
We both (and most of our friends as well) think The Arrowleaf Bistro always delivers a great experience - all the way around.
