Arrowleaf Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated my birthday at Arrowleaf with a group of friends. Winthrop is a small town, so we knew many of the other diners. One couple was also celebrating a birthday; another an anniversary. It felt like one big party.
The harissa deviled eggs had the just the right amount of heat, a spicy variation of one of my favorite foods.
We have an extensive wine cellar, so always bring our own wine. On this occasion the pasta with lamb, eggplant and greens paired well with our 2001 Joseph Phelps Insignia.
The German chocolate birthday cake and espresso was a perfect end to a wonderful meal.
We have been coming to the ArrowRoot for years. I loved their previous location. This was only the second time we had eaten there since they moved. The dining room is serene and has beautiful local art. I had the fixed price summer special and all three courses were delicious. The gazpacho was the most interesting zesty version I've ever tasted. And it was beautiful. The chicken was tender inside and crispy on the outside accompanied by white beans in a tasty broth. The presentation was lovely. The service was attentive and waitstaff friendly.
Came here as it was close to our hotel and from reviews. The only thing of note was with a 6pm reservation they had run out of 3 main courses/appetizers. Since the dining time extends for many past 9pm it looks like they're still figuring out the supply/demand question. TO run out this early in peak time left us feeling a little unhappy. Fortunately the items we ordered were outstanding. Definitely would repeat and recommend.
The new location for the Arrowleaf Bistro is new and modern and comfortable. The ambience is classy and relaxed and our wait staff were very friendly. The food is of excellent quality, and very tasty. It's probably the most pricey of the restaurants in the Winthrop area but we enjoyed ourselves very much!
Okay. We were here for the 3rd. time in 8 days and the service was really poor this time. The chef did not even allow to substitute a side dish which we did not like too much. How ignorant is this. And drinks were not served as ordered or forgotten. Just not what I expect when my tab is 150 for 2. Not fun. The quality of food was great, but the poor treatment killed the enjoyment...
Dined here from online reviews. Neal was generally good. Artucchar slightly over cooked, duck breast was really overcooked and was properly replaced, fresh oysters from Hama Hama were good but served room temp. Commented oyster temp to server and got strange look but did acknowledged to mention to kitchen.
Wine by the glass were limited eg only one Pinot avail for the duck dish.
Resto has potential.
This was by far one of the best restaurants we tried during our July 4th trip to Winthrop and the N. Cascades. Our dinner was absolutely delicious from beginning to end. Oh my goodness, the white chocolate cheesecake with rhubarb puree was divine...the perfect ending to a fabulous meal.
Our server offered helpful, spot on recommendations from Arrowleaf's innovative menu and provided us with outstanding service. Last, but not least, the restaurant's hostess went the extra distance by calling us to let us know our table was ready early.
AMAZING! Enjoyed it all- the warm ambiance, not a huge operation and field-to-table fresh, Unique daily offerings that we great and quality. It was full as we expected (we knew this and had reservations in advance) a bit slow on first course service but this possibility the time to just order a cocktail and take it as good chance to relax and slow down.
Really enjoyed our evening meal - lamb medallions with potatoes for the man (more than he could eat) while I enjoyed the ling cod preparation in wine and lemon with fingerling potatoes and zucchini in olive oil. (I ate every bite!!) My husband drank a Merlot by Jones - a nice finish to the wine, I had a Boudreaux dry Riesling from WA state - pleasant white wine which complemented my fish.
Friendly wait staff, dining room comfortable....seems like a new building too.
I certainly would recommend this restaurant - fine meal in Winthrop and as good or better than some I have eaten in Greater Seattle! We shall visit again when in the area.
Extremely friendly service, we celebrated our anniversary and they helped make it a special evening. The food was prepared with care and high standards, we enjoyed our meals very much. Love the fresh, local ingredients and the variety of drinks offered as well. It is a smaller venue and would recommend making a reservation. With not much room to spare the tables were very close together and the noise level can get a bit high.
Lovely place to eat! My husband and I went there for a date, I had the lamb that was perfection! My husband ordered the grass-fed filet that came a bit over cooked, he asked for medium-rare but it came medium-well, but he said was still delicious and tender. The accompaniments with both main dishes were very tasty.
Excellent food, much of it locally-sourced and organic. Expertly prepared by the co-owner/chef, creatively combined with side dishes and delicious appetizers (try the deviled eggs!). The servers were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Over all a 5-star experience, clear up here in the "wilds" of the Methow Valley. The desserts are delicious, prepared in-house by the co-owner/pastry chef (imagine a ginger-kissed carrot cake that's not sickenly sweet, including the creamy frosting). The best meal we've had in a long while, and we'll be back again next year (we don't live here).
Oatmeal bread was great..liked the texture & flavor of the heavier bread. Pork chop was excellent...tender, flavored perfect, and the rhubarb chutney ( ?) was a perfect accompaniment. The small fries were very disappointing...very cold too small and something I could get out of the frozen food section of the grocery store with little effort.
Our other meal was a steak that was mouthwatering tender, done perfectly (rare/mr) and excellent flavor. For a meal of this price the fries were pitiful. Great coffee. Waitress was very personable and provided great service. Did not have dessert
