We have eaten at Arrowleaf a few times. It is always very good, with the exception of our experience 8-11-18. I had the Steak Frites, which was fine, as expected. Two in our party had the pork chop. They both said it was overcooked and dry. We all know pork chops can be tricky to avoid being dry but we expected the pros at Arrowleaf to overcome this. The tough thing about a restaurant like Arrowleaf is that they set a high bar and a poor dining experience is not expected. But we'll be back. Meanwhile in Syria...................
Table was ready, prompt service with a smile, Pork Chop was delicious. Glad I made a reservation early in the morning..
Arrowleaf was incredible. The service was attentive and subtle. the ambiance was calm and cozy. We enjoyed multiple dishes that blew our minds. However, as a vegetarian, the only vegetarian entree (pasta with an eggplant sauce) was super disappointing, especially at a $30 price point.
We started off with great craft cocktails in the cozy bar. My husband had the rabbit mushroom risotto and I had the crab/fish cakes. Both were to die for. Service is warm and friendly. The menu is seasonal. Well worth the money.
My husband and I have been eating at Arrowleaf each year since we married in 2016. We came to Winthrop for a mini-honeymoon and come back every year for a quick anniversary trip. Our dinner at Arrowleaf NEVER disappoints. This year we had the Crab-Fish Cakes, Duck Breast, and Chicken Breast. I told my husband that I would eat for more vegetables if I could prepare them as masterfully as the staff here. My Bistro 75 cocktail was the best version of the classic cocktail I've had. We also had a slice of the Honey Apricot Cheesecake. We will continue to recommend Arrowleaf and will return each year!
We had the best time here. It was our first time to the new restaurant. The food and service are always on point. Plus being a family with pups they accomadated us and we were so happy. We love this place and will be back again.
First wedding anniversary
Great food, and even though this is a more "upscale" restaurant in Winthrop, it felt relaxed and casual.
We were staying at the Freestone Inn in Mazama and their restaurant was closed on Mondays so we ventured out to look for a good meal. We were very pleased with this restaurant. Creative menu and fresh food seemed to be locally sourced. Appetizers were yummy....burrata cheese and figs were great as was the pork belly. Entrees were the lamb shank (very good ) and the special fish for the evening which was sockeye salmon which was good (but a little overcooked). We had a good meal and enjoyable evening. Good wine list.
Everything was great. Good service and the food was perfect.
Really nice place for a good meal. We were a party of 7 and every one of us was happy with what we ordered. The service was a bit slow, especially when we got there, it seemed them to take a good while to get us much needed water and take our initial drink orders. However, once they seemed to get going, all flowed well. We were hot though as we were seated close to the kitchen.
All in all it was a good experience!
I have been to Arrowleaf several times and have never been disappointed. Saturday evening was no exception. The grilled calamari with Thai spices is the best calamari I have had anywhere (and that includes at dozens of restaurants in Asia). The main course of linguini with sautéed vegetables was heavenly. Dinner was topped off with a very nice L'Ecole Grenache Rosé wine.
Arrowleaf brings to the Methow Valley very fine quality cuisine where one would normally not expect to find it. For fine dining in the Methow no other venue comes close to Arrowleaf in quality at a reasonable price.
Food was very good to excellent; the duck breast that I had was fantastic and the starters (including burrata salad and bread) were also outstanding. Service was professional but friendly, and very efficient. Only downside was that a large and very noisy party of 8 was seated next to us, and their loudness and occasional shouting really made our meal much less enjoyable. I think the restaurant should try harder to either isolate the larger groups, or figure out a way to diplomatically ask the patrons if they could be a bit less rambunctious. I would still recommend the restaurant, but the acoustics are such that if you get seated next to a group of six or more, try to request to be moved. I think my duck breast -- which was delicious -- would have been even more enjoyable if not for the deafening noise our neighbors created.
Excellent meal! Best restaurant in Winthrop. Will definitely return
Loved my 3rd visit. Duck breast for him and fresh baked trout for me, plus caesar salad app and desserts. Only quibble with ambience is chairs are not padded. And it’s pricey: $30 entrees, but worth it.
Great food, excellent service. This place is a gem.
This is our 4th visit to Areowleaf Bistro in it’s newer location. The quality of the food, the terrific cocktails and the level of service will bring us back again!
The physical setting and staff were wonderful, warm and professional. The food portions were generous, ample and well presented. Some of the disappointment came from expectations established by very positive Trip Advisor & Yelp reviews. The calamari was very good presented with a nicely breaded, tangy batter with sliced hot peppers and chili flakes. The House salad had very fresh and diverse greens...the vinaigrette however was a runny vinegar and oil combo with little taste or flavor which detracted. The linguini (a pasta primavera) was a very large portion drenched in a tasteless and runny homemade pesto. The vegetables were negligble and lacked flavor. The chicken was well prepared and satisfactory. The meals are not a good value and highly priced ($26/pasta...every other entree cost more) even for a resort area. There is aspiration to be the go to for area fine dining and the bones of this exist. Preparations and/or the chef have a long way to go to get there.
We always enjoy the food and service at Arrowleaf, definitely the best bet in Winthrop/Mazama.
This is our all time favorite restaurant. The food is always excellent and the owners and staff are fabulous. We drive more than 250 miles every year to eat dinner here at least twice. We have never been disappointed. Try new things they are all good. Thanks Jon and Joanne.
Brooke gives great service (and Larry is a good catch).
We go here every year when we visit Winthrop. Menu changes so it is always a new adventure
It was a return visit from a year ago.....quite busy but good meal. My husband enjoyed his steak frites, I found the menu more challenging as I have food sensitivities...enjoyed fish cakes without the sauce. We shared a Caesar Salad which was good and fresh. Nice choice of wines. Sweets were good but nothing special.
We are regular to the Arrow Leaf. Every time we pass throughout Winthrop we always enjoy a great diner
We always enjoy our dinners at the Arrowleaf Bistro. We usually take out-of-town guests there, and they are always surprised to find such elegant and creative dining in an area where most of the restaurants are rustic (burgers and pizza). The menu makes extensive use of local ingredients and the items are always interesting and well-prepared. The bistro has a reasonable wine list, and the restaurant atmosphere is attractive and inviting.
Excellent meal and service!
Jon and JoAnn have what is simply the best restaurant in the Methow Valley. I would consider it to be in my top 5 all time. Highly recommended.
Exquisite farm to table experience with wonderful service. What a gem!
Fabulous food and wonderfully accommodating for our large group. A real treat for the whole family in a lovely setting.
our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. She knew the beer list and descriptions off the top of her head. The service was good.
We ordered everytype of meat we could in our group and shared bites so basically, i tried four Entrees. They were all prepared beautifully. The duck was a very generous serving. The lamb with Chimichurri could be my favorite. The Meatloaf with dried cherry gravy was also very good.
Jon and Joann have created the perfect storm. Service that exceeds expectations, food that delights the palate, and
atmosphere to please . Love this place.
Perhaps the best trout entrée I've ever had. Broiled, easy to eat, delicious! A perfect finish to a brief vacation in the Methow.
Ate here twice during getaway and enjoyed the splurge both times. Food was very good, service friendly but a little spotty. Waitresses seemed a bit overwhelmed. Love that they offer an affordable sweet instead of a whole dessert. The mushroom and rabbit risotto was superb!
The food was excellent, as was the service. The portions were generous. The duck was perfectly done. Our server was lovely. We had two elderly parents with us, and they were well treated. The whole evening was perfect.
My wife and I were staying at the Sun Mountain Lodge and were referred to this place by the woman running the stables. It was as she said, upscale with great food. We split the Pork Belly Bruschetta for an appetizer. I had the lamb and my wife had pork chops. All was great!
place looks and feels very nice. Service is friendly and prompt. Food is expensive and only fair.
I wanted a place that was local and served locally grown and season, this place was that. I had the trout which was outstanding, very rare treat. The staff was very friendly and fun. I would dine here every time I am in Winthrop.
Strong wine list, and the best asparagus I've ever had!
