Arrivederci Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten here many times and have enjoyed each. However, the last two times the hostess tried to seat us at a very bad table in the rear against the wall. Our reservation was at 6:00 PM and the cafe was not quite half full. After a somewhat long discussion we were seated in the main area at a nice table. When we left, the area was still not quite full. The waiter, Giovani, was superb and made up for our initial poor reaction to the hostess. As always, the food was good.
We had a pleasant evening at this restaurant. The only dish that was disappointing was the calamari appetizer in which many of the pieces were overcooked and quite rubbery. The chicken parmigiana and the beef cannoli entrees were wonderful. The wine list was quite good...Found a great Italian wine. Our dessert was a stuffed cannoli which was very tasty. Service was good but our waiter never smiled through the entire evening and I felt that our being there was an imposition on his evening. The atmosphere was quite loud and we had problems even carrying on a conversation across a table for two. We may go back. Unsure at this time.
I have been to this gem numerous times, but the service has steadily been deteriorating. The owner is still as sweet as ever, and the food is quite good, but the menu doesn't change. I would go back, and recommend to friends with these qualifications. With a little effort, this restaurant would fill it's doors on weekdays, also.
One of our favorite places to go for dinner. Never had a bad experience. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the bus people are friendly and efficient. Coming from the New York/ New Jersey area where Italian food is done right, Arrivederci’s is right up there with them.
It was a busy Saturday evening and even with reservations, we had to wait for our table, but they were so apologetic they gave us an extra appetizer.
Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic! If you want good authentic Italian food, this is the place!
Great things are worth the wait!
We’ve been dining at Arrivederci for years. We love the warm and friendly atmosphere. The service is always excellent. While our dinners were okay the chicken parmigiana was not as good as we’ve become accustomed to over the years. Maybe it was just an off night.
2 of the 3 dishes looked not very appetizing, in fact one sent it back as the salmon and pasta looked so bland, and the kitchen did add a sprinkle of green, My veal marsala was dingy looking and wasn't very flavorful. This was my 3rd time here. Unfortunately the only thing to say was good was a glass of wine. The portobello salad was ok. Too many options where details are taken care of.
We arrived for our 6:30 reservation. The hostess looked in her book didn’t find us, I said we made then on open table- she said “oh okay just wait a little please”. She proceeded to seat a couple of other folks before us (they were in the book), I finally said to her, we did have 6:30 reservations too. She said “yes we’re trying to seat you..” I got the sense we weren’t as high priority as “the book” reservations. Service was mediocre at best...our waiter went down three tables like an assembly line taking drink orders. He quickly rattled off the specials and off he went to get all our drinks. We ordered our food, appetizers and entrees all at once, a few minutes later here come our entrees...... where’s our appetizers? Ok take them back and let’s redo with appetizers first. Our entrees were brought out later and I swear my food must of sat under a heat lamp because it was warm at best...my husbands was microwaved, it was piping hot. Ok let’s just eat and call it a night- not terribly excited about this place - no return visit warranted here.
Only come here if you like chunks of garlic, and I mean excessive garlic. We could not finish our spaghetti as our lips were on fire. Lame salad. Slow service. Even the drinks are bad. I had a Manhattan that tasted like gasoline. Go elsewhere. This place is awful.
Food and service are outstanding. All food is prepared fresh daily and you are served by male waiters in the Italian tradition. The noise level can become high when the restaurant fills up with customers so if you prefer a quiet dining experience, go between 5:00 and 5:30 PM before the crowds arrive.
The food was good, especially the bread; the server gracious; the owner was there but did not come to our table, which was surprising since we were the only patrons during the entire lunch hour. The ambience was, definitely, Old World Italian which lends to it's charm. I'm sure it's a neighborhood favorite.
The small tables for two are the worst. If you have wine, bread, next balance your plate on your lap. Can they get any smaller? We have been here several times. The last two times they cannot wait to rush you and turn over your table. They kept pointing at our table and noticeably making plans for the next two for the table. You lost your ambiance.
