Arrivederci Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday evening. The food was cooked well but fairly bland The pasta served with my veal was tasteless and the plating was sloppy. I've eaten in many restaurants in Italy that served simple dishes, but always with much more flavor and visual appeal.
I also did not experience the phenomenal hospitality about which I'd read in other reviews.
Maybe I just caught them on a bad day...
This is one of the best restaurant finds in the Valley and I've been here for 16 years! Small town feel, Old World feel with the owners and staff really caring about you from the moment you walk in the door. Attentive but not over-bearing, the servers are there when you need bringing fresh warm bread (YUM!), refilling water glasses and checking up on needs. The food was EXCELLENT - like NYC quality and I know because I'm originally from that area - hard to duplicate here in the Valley regardless of price point. I felt the price was very fair for what was served. The lobster ravioli, the Frutti di Mare and the cannoli were absolutely fantastic! We were celebrating our birthdays with our spouses and it couldn't have been a nicer night! The perfect ending to the night was when the owner came outside the restaurant as we were leaving and apologized for not escorting us out. She hugged us as if we were close friends and it was very genuine and authentic. We definitely will be back!
Arrivederci never fails to be thoroughly enjoyable. I moved to Scottsdale in 2000 and it has been consistently good on every visit. Their cannelloni is my favorite. I couldn't finish the portion so brought it home. The next evening it was my delight to find that they had kindly topped my leftovers with additional sauce. Now that's a classy touch!
Really enjoy this authentic italian restaurant, which is far and few between in Scottsdale, being from New York, my wife lynn and I enjoy the variety of fresh dishes, great service, at an affordable price !! And plenty of parking!!! BUT make you reservations early on the week ends as they are VERY POPULAR! But worth the wait...have a drink at the bar!!!
We are from out of state and ate dinner here with some friends. This wasn't our destination restaurant, but when we arrived at that restaurant I started looking for an alternative. I took a short walk and discovered Arrivederci Ristorante, and am I glad I did. The service and food was so good that when our son flew in to join us for a couple of days later we took him back for dinner. The staff and owners make you feel very welcome, as if you had been customers for years. The food on both occasions was outstanding, as was the service. We will be returning to the area next spring, and I guarantee that we will be returning to Arrivederci more than once!
Picked this restaurant for a family members birthday. We had a small child with us so wanted somewhere family friendly. The food was all delicious and the staff couldn't have been nicer to us. We all loved it and agreed it was the best meal we had in the Phoenix area during our stay
The Best italian restaurant in Scottsdale! Hands Down!!!! Great variety on the menu! Fresh ingredients, wonderful staff, (seating can be a little tight, bit that's my opinion) full bar, and all at reasonable prices! It's a gotta try!!! Plenty of parking - reservations are a MUST on the weekends, but well worth it...
We eat here every year when we are in Az for spring training. The ambiance is fantastic. It is family run and always a friendly environment. The eggplant Parmesan is the best I've ever had anywhere. This year it was a bit over cooked which is why I gave only 4 stars for food! Everything else was great, including the after dinner free limoncello. We will be back next year!
The food was quite good, but the restaurant overbooked their reservations and were unable to even greet us for almost 15 minutes. We were not seated for our 7 pm reservation until 8 pm. They were frazzled and did not know how to deal with the crowd, except saying we are behind tonight. Not pleasant and poor hospitality. Several diners left unhappy or just left.
My party of four had a 6:45 reservation. At 6:43 we arrived to a hostess stand crowded with people waiting. We waited, and when it was our turn we approached the hostess. She just turned her back on us and took care of something or someone else before she even extended a greeting. Then she told us there would be a ten minute wait, immediately after which a patron who was clearly agitated marched up to the hostess stand asking for a check because he hadn't seen his server "in some time," and needed to leave. By then, there were another ten people behind us, not an open table in the place, people crowded into the small restaurant. This place had no control whatsoever. They were overbooked or understaffed or both. We left before we were even seated.
After hearing good things, we tried this restaurant for the first time, and are very glad we did! Bottom line: the food and service is excellent, but be prepared to wait if you visit on the weekends EVEN WITH A RESERVATION. The restaurant is small. So small, that I'm surprised that they take reservations at all, since many small establishments don't. Our original reservation was on a Saturday at 7pm. On Saturday morning I happened to check OpenTable and noticed that both the "6:00pm" and "6:30pm" slots were sold out. Because I had read through all the reviews, I knew this meant we would probably be stuck waiting a while when we checked in at 7:00pm. Because we had a show to get to after dinner, and I didn't want to risk a rushed meal, I changed our reservation to 6:15 and I am SO HAPPY I did! When we arrived at 6:15 and place was packed and we were seated in the LAST open table. Minutes later, as I predicted, people started showing up for their 6:30 "reservations" and there was no available tables. As we were seated very near the host stand, the rest of our meal was spent listening to some very angry people who had to wait. Note: there is a bar in the reception area to make the wait a bit more bearable. Luckily, the food and service were so good that this didn't put a damper on our evening. As other reviewers have mentioned, most of the tables are VERY close together, and as such, the atmosphere is VERY LOUD, so if that bothers you, I would avoid this restaurant altogether. We had the Caprese Rustica, Lobster Ravioli, Chicken with gnocchi in Gorgonzola sauce, and the Chocomisu (dessert), and enjoyed every last bite! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant as the food and service are top-notch. If you don't want to risk a wait wait, it's better to visit during lunch, or before 6:30pm on the weekends. If you don't like lively restaurant atmospheres (noise) or sitting too close to the tables next to you, this is not the best place for you.
Had dinner on a busy Friday night during the annual Spring Training month. The place was packed, even with additional tables. The wait staff did an amazing job serving everyone in its usual efficient way and turning tables over without anyone feeling unduly rushed. Food was top shelf as usual and at reasonable prices. It's a neighborhood gem!
What a disappointment- do yourself a favor and miss this one! The "bartender" needs to learn some basic customer service skills. She was rude and it was obvious that she hated what she was doing. The tables were wedged in, food was handed over our heads, and the food mediocre. Had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled four times only to be told from our waitress that "she was working on it."
