Arriba Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had a terrific time after a very trying day and the waitress was wonderful to my guests . I am also very pleased the waitress/hostess Ashley called the day before to make sure the reservations were still on. Thank you all for a delightful evening before our adventure with the kids for Disney on Ice.
We booked it for Winterlicious we didn't realize it was in the Rogers Centre till we got there. We had a nice window seat facing the currently empty Stadium but it was interesting to see. I ordered the gnocchi it was outstanding. My husband had the salmon and said it was also very good. For dessert we had bread pudding and a flourless brownie both were absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be back. We went on a Wednesday night and they had a singer and bass player that were quite lovely we enjoyed the atmosphere.
What a view! My son attends the University of Toronto, and we live in Cleveland. I'd made reservations a week or so before we left Cleveland , since we were arriving Friday evening. Of course, traffic caused us to be an hour late, but were welcomed to dine even though the restaurant was closing soon. Our table was gave us a birds eye's view of the stadium. My son, an avid sports fan, was captivated by the size of the massive size and design of the building. Our server was charming, and spoke with us about loving Cleveland and was relaxed and accommodating even though her shift was over. Good food, excellent view, and casual dining made this evening a great experience.
We've been to Arriba a number of times and also recommend it to our family, friends and clients . Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. We were never offered more water and flagged someone over for it. Our entrees we never quality checked. Plates were not cleared and after waiting for 25 minutes I got up and asked someone for the bill. This all seemed unusual as the service has always been very good here. I'm glad this wasn't my first visit as I wouldn't be inclined to go back. The food again was outstanding! We will be back but definitely hoping for a more attentive experience . Thanks
The service was kind of slow, I believe there was a no show but the waitress and staff were nice. It's better to go on a day there's a baseball game and request window table so you can dine and watch the game, which would make for a fun atmosphere during lunch/ dinner. Unfortunately, there was no game on the day I went. The food overall was pretty good.
Ordered Steak and I was happy with it, but my 3 companions who all ordered Fish & Chips were disappointed with their food. They found it too greasy. While the batter was more than well done, the fish was not cooked ;( At least the Caesar Salad was fresh and they were able to eat that.
It's a shame because I wanted them to like Arriba since we live at the waterfront and would have liked to frequent this place...
My husband and I love to have brunch at Arriba before the Jays game and watch the pregame warmup and BP. It is always great! On this particular night we decided to have dinner and watch the Jays game from the restaurant. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend this as an alternative to buying tickets to the game.
I think they are taking advantage during Blue Jays Games. The Houston Astros are not a Prime Ticket Game, yet Arriba charges a $10/person on their bill. If it was the Yankees or the Red Sox I could understand. I think this is just a money "GRAB". Great place to watch the game, great food. so-so service. Just had a hard time with the Viewing Charge. I would have a hard time to telling friends to go there.
Went for brunch before a Jay game. Service was very good as was the food.
The view of the playing field was terrific. Would recommend for this.
However, there must have been a family with small children at the table before us....the floor under the table was covered in crumbs etc. Not very pleasant. The chairs have seen better days...rips and stains. The hotel should do a renovation!
Food was really good, view was even better. The only disappointment was the waitress would not serve ny boyfriend and I because she claimed that our MA ID's were fake (which they are not). So make sure if you are from the states to bring your passport with you as well because chances are they will not serve you! Other than that the place was great
Made an 11 am reservation and had access breakfast and lunch menus as well as the breakfast buffet. This restaurant serves as the Renaissance hotel breakfast restaurant, and overlooks the Rogers Centre baseball field. We made early reservations to avoid paying the game time minimums, but got players warming up on the field. Very cool experience with great food and service. Not many vegetarian options but definitely fit for foodies.
Out server, Janet, was sweet, courteous and thoughtful. She made great food&drink recommendations but also kept in mind that we were there to watch the game. She helped us pace our meal through the stretch of the game, as she paid attention to the nuances to. I feel like she knew that dessert would be necessary to cope with that 6-5 loss to the Orioles, so she advised us not to get the rather plain ice cream selections. Sooo sweet!
Ps. My lamb was delicious and a perfect medium rare.
P.p.s Great view of the game. Had a direct view of the bullpen phone. They also play the broadcast on the TV so the sports commentary can be heard.
I was looking for a place for brunch to enjoy before the ball game. I didn't know where it was and had a hard time finding it. Eventually we realized that it was in the hotel at Rogers Centre. We were pleasantly surprised that it overlooked the baseball field and we got to watch the warm up while enjoying brunch. The food was delicious too.
We went on the night of Taylor Swift so it was expected to be super busy. They were really good confirming my reservation, and also checked in with us when we were stuck in traffic. The front of the house staff was amazing. I called them to inform them we will be late, and they were extremely nice about it. We were super late, so they ended calling again to make sure we were still going. that's really nice of them.
There seemed to be short of waiting staff on a event night, and everybody seemed confused. We were seated by the front of the house staff, and given the menus and the wine list. 5 minutes later and another staff came and asked if we need still needed menus, but those big giant menus were clearly sitting right in front of us.
The sever for our table told us multiple times that she will be right with us; after 10-15 minutes, the server finally came to take our order.
The food itself was normal. The wine list didn't have any nice nor a good variety of selection to choose from.
It took us quite awhile to spot our server to ask for the bill. We finally had to ask some other server to get our bill. The original server finally came to us with the bill, and she was also trying to clean the table up. another server try to help the original server to clean up the table so she can get the bill and payment done.
The food, which took forever to arrive, was bland at best. Even the kid's personal size pizza ordered off of the kid's menu went untouched by both of our kids due to the taste.
While this might be expected for bar food, or gas station food, in light of the prices for this food, it was not acceptable. Definitely not worth the cost.
Went before an ACC Taylor Swift concert. Our server was going crazy with at least 6 at one point 8+ tables. Given the prices and location there is a certain expectation as to a superior level of quality and service. We didn't recieve either. It's not like this scenario is new to this place and I don't see why they were not staffed accordingly. The food was good but nothing special and the experience would have gotten a more favourible review if had the service been better.
Having spent the afternoon in the Rogers Centre watching a brilliant Blue Jays performance, we had an excellent meal sitting next to the glass looking into the stadium. It was surprisingly quiet given the game had been on though we were early at 6.30. The service was excellent and the food very good and not 'gastro' thankfully. We thoroughly enjoyed it all especially the cheesecake, and would recommend it!
Service was tardy to say the least, and largely non existent when we were there for brunch on the 20th, prior to the Blue Jays game and the restaurant was less than half full. took 15 minutes just to get coffee.
The only good thing about this restaurant is the view into the stadium.
