food is down grading and the daily special menu price is ridiculously rip off .
Service was fantastic and the food, as always, was delicious!
Very bad service. The waitress did not take care of our table since we were more than 6 people and her tip was automatically added to our check. we waited for more than 20 minutes for a refill. IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 6, DO NOT DINE THERE!!
Regional Mexican specialties, great service. Very loud. Too loud for conversation.
Amazing margaritas and seafood . Authentic interior of Mexico cuisine
We went for the soft shell crabs, which didn't disappoint. However, at 6:30pm, the place was very noisy...could hardly talk! Will return at a less busy time of day.
I had not been to Pico's since they had moved from their original location. I heard that they had "Americanized" the menu and raised their prices. While the menu may not be as adventurous as before, there are still many mole offerings and items you don't normally find in a Mexican restaurant, such as crabs and lamb.
Best place !!!
Picos has very mediocre fajitas. No comparison to Lupe Tortilla.
The food and drinks were priced too high and the restaurant noise level was not "energetic"...it was so loud we couldn't hear our friends. Mariachi band only added to the excessively loud restaurant. Ugh.
All entrees were delicious
Service was slow and inattentive. Water refilled once in 2 hours.
Wonderful margaritas and variety of central Mexican entrees.
I went for the soft shell crab. I had the soft shell crab. I loved the soft shell crab. It I also loved the fresh margaritas. Great lunch! Great soft shell crab. I will return
Excellent food, service can be spotty. Nice selection of Margaretas. Good happy hour in bar, but they will not honor happy hour drinks in the restaurant; terrible policy when I'm spending a lot more money on dinner than the reduced price appetizers at the bar. Prices seem a bit high, but the quality is worth it. Suggest you go early and sit at the bar, much better value than in the dining room.
Upon reading other reviews thought we would give this a try for a family dinner on Father's Day. The food was some of the worst food we have had at a restaurant in Houston that was supposedly at this level. Taco Cabana would get higher scores! Despite reservations, we were seated at the entrance to the kitchen. The salsa verde was so pungent with lime juice it was inedible. We ordered mixed parrilla for 3 persons and the seafood enchiladas. The mixed plate was beef and chicken fajitas, shrimp and ribs. Beef and chicken was passable but unremarkable, shrimp were dry and overcooked, the ribs were so overcooked they were mushy and had no seasoning. The seafood enchiladas had a definite slight ammonia smell and taste to the shrimp. After the main course disaster we opted not to waste any more $ on desert. We went home and ordered chinese take-out! This restaurant is off our list permanently, we will not be back. Gave a rating of 1 only because they have free valet parking!
We've gone to Pico's since the time it was just a small restaurant on Bellaire Blvd. at Hillcroft. The food is always delicious and thank goodness, it is MEX-MEX although there is a concession to Tex-Mex tastes with a few dishes. In fact, the menu has grown with the passage of years to include...well, just attend any one of the Sunday brunches or Fathers/Mothers/CincodeMayo etc. specialty brunches for the full breadth of tastiness. My particular favorite is the cochinita pibil - tastier than some I have actually had in the Yucatan. The wait staff is top-notch, the location terrific. The only downside is that costs have increased but hey, so has gas & electricity, right?
Father’s Day Brunch was excellent! To top it off we got to watch a World Cup match. We will go back no doubt.
We have been enjoying eating at Pico's for decades and as always it was wonderful. We went for our 35th anniversary as a special treat.
Totally overpriced, it's Mexican food, the margheritas are good but again totally over priced! They are in a high end rental district so need to wheel in as many as they can to pay their overheads. Much better choices for both food and value when it comes to eating Mexican cuisine.
Wonderful food and service
Very Good food and good service...acoustics were not great for a business meeting as the bar area can be very loud and that volume carried throughout the whole restaurant ...
great food, service and atmosphere. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Excellent soft shell crabs
Service is slow...
Excellent soft shell crabs. Can’t wait to go back.
It used to be a fun place with fun crowds. It’s no longer that. Hopefully they can’t bring it back to life. Good margaritas
Excellent Mexican cuisine in addition to the very good Tex Mex fare. Always very good.
Great service and food !!
Highly recommend it !!!
The food was delicious, I went there to celebrate my birthday and it had a great time. The staff were very friendly, and the staff sung happy birthday. Loved it!
We always enjoyed the food here. We really like the waiter but it took over 10 minutes for them to bring us water after we asked three times. Monday blues perhaps.
It was perfect The food was Delicious fast and Hot! Everything was perfect 😍😋Pico’s is My favorite Mexican Restaurant. Staff Friendly and professional.
Mother’s Day brunch:
Service was gracious and friendly... just a bit slow at times.
Food selection was plentiful and delicious, but the buffet looked very messy and unappealing.
The restaurant is very dark, as well, which felt shadowy and cavernous on such a bright, sunny day.
Fantastic food, even though it is a buffet the quality is there. So much to choose from not enough room to eat it all! We will be back
Authentic Mexican dishes. Good variety. Not the same-ol, same-ol.
Pleasant atmosphere. Very clean.
Good and service was outstanding!! We will definitely return soon.
Poor service. Mediocre food. Not the restaurant it once was!
Graciela is the best waitress we’ve ever had. We love her and she makes our visit a great one.
Fun ambiance, food was lacking flavor and spice. Margaritas were great and above average. Waiters were definitely overworked and had too many tables thus a long wait for food and check.
