Food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. AC
Considering the selection of the brunch menu, I find it difficult to justify the $36/person charge. I understand the location is centralized and the cost for the monthly rent must be substantial, but perhaps trimming some of the staff maybe the answer?
Food was good but didn’t get what I ordered - serious language issues- finally got my drink at end of meal (it was melting so probably forgot)
Food, as always, was very good. Server was very diligent, but seemed disorganized. I ordered a margarita with salt. Didn’t think he heard me...it is very loud there...so, I repeated it twice. Came out with no salt. It was easily remedied. My wife ordered a side of queso for her tacos al carbon, specifically said that. They brought it as first appetizer. And, please.....bigger water glasses. Otherwise, great meal!
Excellent food, best margaritas in town, and fantastic service
Great all around !!!
Maggie Service awesome !!
We enjoyed the margaritas. However when a friend ordered a glass of wine, it was about 4 oz. she got up and went to the bar and the bartender added more. We had to ask for more water which was difficult since we couldn’t find our waiter for several minutes. We got separate checks and three out of the five checks were wrong. The biggest thing was the noise level. When we got outside, one of my friends said, “I felt like I was yelling the whole time in there!” I said, “Because we were.” Nobody dislikes their food but also nobody said, “This is great! Ya’ll have to try it.”
We are a group of friends that have know each other for years. We started a “supper club” a few years back so we could see each other more on a regular basis. We try to meet once a month and so far, we usually make about 10 months out of the year. This experience we enjoyed the least and I’d say it was because of the noise. If we were able to chat and laugh as we usually do without such an effort to hear, empty water glasses and mixed up checks wouldn’t have matter.
I am always very satisfied when I eat at Picos. The service and quality of the food are excellent.
Very loud restaurant. Table was in the walkway and service was slow. Food was okay but nothing great. Will not go back again.
First time here—-so disappointed I waited so long to cone here!!!! Fabulous in all facets: food, music, atmosphere, service. Cant wait to try other menu items
You can count on the food and service it never disappoints. And the tequila menu is outstanding.
Most items were fresh, paella was dry, service was. UST and a bit slow.
The food was delicious and the service was great.
Service was slower than usual even though we went early and the restaurant wasn’t crowded. We had small kids along, and their food came out quickly, but they were finished eating long before the adult orders came out. The pork rib dish wasn’t very good. El Tiempo’s ribs are much better.
We really enjoyed watching the Astros game at the bar tonight. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Hector is a professional and great waiter .
Always a wonderful time at Picos...from the staff, drinks to the food...simply great!
Great service and great food make me keep coming back.
There were three of us on Friday, Oct 3, 2019. Waiter recommended a main course that was not eatable for one of us. Waiter didn’t come and ask whether our food was ok. He failed to notice that appetizer was not eaten and main course was also not touched. When he brought the bill I said that one of us couldn’t eat the main course as the meat was simply disgusting. Waiter asked whether we wanted to take it home... unbelievable
Meat dish looked awful and wasn’t cooked properly. We also had an octopus. Two legs of the octopus were ok, one had a funky smell. Ceviche is huge there and mixed with other stuff - very little raw fish and fish is not that great - big chunks. We won’t be back. Paid over $100 for there people plus tip. Really?
Enjoy the restaurant being a little quieter than their competitors and the tables being further apart so conducive to conversation. Chips are warm and love the roasted flavor in the salsa.
Best Mexican food I have ever had. Authentic with live music, amazing service, and a even better price
Buen lugar para comer auténtica comida mexicana.
This was our fourth time dining here, it was my wife’s birthday dinner. She ordered Fish which very dry and I had grilled shrimp, also just OK. Previously I have had the bacon wrapped shrimp which always excellent, but perhaps anything wrapped in bacon would be?
The service was really tentative, I think it may have been a new waiter?
So we will not be so eager to rush back
A fabulous Sunday brunch buffet! We celebrated a family birthday in style!
Food and drink were great! Service was a bit off. Multiple servers and had to keep tracking one down.
Family dinner. Been here before and knew dinner would be great. Our family is from GDL, MTY, Filipino, and good ole Texas. Be back soon!
The wine is way overpriced
Very disappointed in the menu choices - very limited as compared to the selections seen on line when making the reservation. Price point reasonable if food would have tasted better. Had their version of a skinny margarita- I would not have another. Also building obviously need some updated a/c - had at least 4 tower fans in various areas around the restaurant. Would not recommend to a friend. Will not go back. Too many better choices in the same area.
Wonderful authentic food and great atmosphere. Could have been a bit quieter.
Reliably good food and service in a quiet-ish environment. The roaming musicians were a bonus on Sunday.
Family dinner—we had a great time. Food and service were excellent.
The only issue we had was that service was slow. Our waiter was good and accommodating, it's just that we sat for almost 30 mins before we had a drink and then he did not come back often enough.
Food was delicious- Too loud
The food was ok. Service ok. Server did not make suggestions or offer dessert menu.
Enjoyed all day happy 😊
Great Sunday brunch buffet. Many great mole dishes to choose from. Service took a bit because it was a busy Sunday, but the margaritas helped pass the time. Great value and fun way to choose a favorite dish for regular dining.
Crawfish enchiladas & the sauteed spinach were excellent as always. Our waiter though left a lot to be desired. Only came to our table once after our food was brought out & only checked with the male at our table about the food. Margaritas were bad. Waiter must not have told the bartender no salt because everyone's drink tasted as if they had been poured from a glass that had had salt on it into another glass. One bad waiter will most likely not keep us from returning because the food is good. Margaritas are hit or miss though.
Abraham was fantastic!
Great food; however, extremely noisy. So noisy that it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Please, consult a designer and add carpet or whatever it takes to bring down the noise level!
Great service, food is fantastic along with dessert! Highly recommend Sunday brunch.
