Arms Reach Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The waitress actually helped me prepare before my guest arrived (special guest!), by serving the dessert that I have prepared beforehand. Everything was fantastic (especially the special guest). However it is quite pricey, except the truly excellent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. CERTAINLY well worth the price overall. I will be back and I will be back with my Special Friend (if she will have me).
We came a little earlier then what we were supposed to. And unfortunately we had to wait for a table quite long. But with overall experience after, it was worth of my waiting.
We had a server Michael, he is very polite and went above and beyond. Meals were very tasty! It was a good finish of 2017!
We greatly enjoyed our meal at Arm's Reach before heading to the Deep Cove Panto. We had family visiting from out of town and they were very impressed with everything - the food, wine, atmosphere and excellent service. Thank you, Arm's Reach for always being a source of pride for the locals.
This place is a gem! Housemade pasta cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of sauce. The carpaccio and Brussels sprouts were two yummy appies. And the wine - a very well-chosen list in all price ranges with an incredibly fair mark-up. Best place for wine in the Lower Mainland! In the summer, sitting outside and looking out to Deep Cove is spectacular. In the winter, the beautiful tall trees seem to fit in with the rain. We are always happy to return to the Arm's Reach. The challenge with all these great reviews - it is difficult to get a reservation!
The location is perfect, and the ambiance was lovely. It was cozy, yet classy. The server was amazing. She knew why different things were used in each dish, and the desired outcome of the flavour combinations. I will for sure be going back! As a side note, the food was also incredible.
Everything was wonderful except the table of 8 behind us who were actually screaming at each other as if they were at a concert. We complained several times to our server as did the table beside us but I did not hear anyone ask them to tone it down. It was almost impossible to converse with my friend across the table from me. It really did ruin the evening. I have been to your restaurant many times and this is the first time I have had that experience. Not sure if I should have spoken to them myself.
We were disappointed with our meal. The calamari, which used to be our favourite, had thick batter and the dipping tomato sauce was sweet and not spicy as advertised. Not at all what it used to be like. The spaghetti sauce had a strange spice flavour . Service was great.
I have been to the Arms many many times. In the past I had always enjoyed the food. And while the service still remains excellent the “main” dishes have been changed. I had always relied on the “Angry Chicken “ but it had been removed. The other selections were not appealing but tried the Coq au vin”.
Bland and tasteless. I am not enticed to return any time soon.
We went for brunch on a rainy Sunday morning. The brunch options are limited but reasonably priced and nicely presented. The venue is small and intimate with a nice view of the water (we had a window seat) and the service was good, wait staff friendly and competent. All in all a pleasurable experience.
Food was excellent like always. The Mussels were spicier then usual. I still really enjoyed them but they were a bit much for my wife. We have had them here numerous times and I wouldn't generally say they were too spicy for Caucasian Canadians. I had the Kale Salad. It was excellent. Our kids had the baked spaghetti. It's always hard to know whether to get the half order or full order for our kids as they are growing.
Always a favourite: good food at a reasonable price; never poor service; grade A location; excellent wine selection. Sorry to see that a couple of favourite items are no longer on the menu - understand the need to change the menu from time to time but disappointing of course if the items are a personal favourite. Don't ever remove the beef carpaccio though, that'll end our relationship!!
We were disappointed in the menu - it had very few lunch options compared to previous visits there. The service was good but we were not impressed with the food. The parking is a nightmare in Deep Cove on a busy weekend. We will choose another restaurant when we go out with friends next time.
Visited Arms Reach for brunch after a hike nearby. I had the kale and goat cheese frittata, and it was exceptional for something so simple. Very high-quality ingredients. My friend had the hash bowl, and it was reportedly great. Friendly service, lovely view of Deep Cove and our food was quick to come out. We'll be back!
