Arms Reach Bistro
In the heart of Deep Cove lies Arms Reach, a quaint, cozy, bistro next to the beautiful Burrard Inlet & North Shore mountains.

"This Bistro is one of those local gems that foodies like me dream of discovering but dread revealing for fear of exposing its virtuous flavours" Cathy Bullen
"Simply Devine" The North Shore News
It was very good pasta and food. However it is a little pricey although it is in a very pricey area.
Pre-Theatre Dinner on a lovely, sunny Saturday evening.
Amazing food! and friendly efficient service by Katie, a most personable server!
Only complaint - again – is about the volume and selection of music, both not at all suited to this Restaurant. Unfortunately, Management is not listening - for we, and many others, have complained about that issue in previous write-ups!
This is a "view" location that works. Many view spots rest on the view and not the food. This is an exception. The food is very good with fresh, local ingredients and tha staff are exemplary. Arms Reach is the place to go for reserve wines for the mark-ups on higher-end wines are very low. It is absolutely worth the trip to Deep Cove to dine at Arms Reach. Take a bus or a taxi - parking in Deep Cove is limited.
Lovely setting. Friendly service. Salmon over cooked. Curry ok
Our Family's Fave! Great wine list and wonderful staff.
After a very rocky start-service wise, Samatha came to the rescue for providing her personal apology, generously deducting two birthday drinks, presenting a delicious creme brulee, with candle, and singing me Happy Birthday. Well done Samatha, I personally appreciate your making my birthday special and memorable! ( by the way, our food was great! )
Had reservations to get in at lunch time on a busy sunny Friday. Very loud music playing inside. Therefore, needed to elevate voices when talking. Service was good and friendly. Food good, not great. Quality of food not reflective in the price charged. The only place really in Deep Cove for a sit down meal so choices limited.
Excellent service and fantastic food.
See you again soon.
I requested a patio table for my boyfriend’s birthday on their website a week before we arrived. We turned up and were told they didnt reserve tables outside and were given a table facing the wall inside. As the view is the main attraction and point of driving here from vancouver, we asked to move tables to one where you could see the cove but they had no availability and didnt seem particularly bothered. We went across the road to a great pastry place instead.
Hi Daphne, I'm sorry we weren't able to accommodate your request for a particular table. As only 6 of our 18 inside tables are directly next to a window, it's hard for us to decide who to give them to as we usually receive multiple requests a night for a window table for a special occasion. This is why it's our stated policy that we aren't able to guarantee certain tables. We also do not reserve the patio because it's not completely covered and subject to weather.
We had wonderful meals at arms reach bistro, our servers were excellent. We were there years ago when it was the savoury restaurant for our first wedding anniversary.... same table same view!
The only disappointment was there wheelchair bathroom was not accessible as the door swung into the stall so you could not shut the stall door and you could also not access the sinks to wash your hands.
Awesome muscles and deal in white wine! Great place love it there
Beautiful restaurant with an amazing view. We we're lucky enough to get a seat on the patio with a view of the sea. Food was amazing and the staff were really friendly.
Had a lovely dinner! The food was fresh and tasty! Service was great! Always the best every time we go!
As always, the Arms Reach crew knows how to deliver! Excellent food and amazing service! Love, love Arms Reach!
Great food, excellent service.
What a lovely lunch we had here as a post mother’s day celebration. Our meals were split conveniently between two plates as our senior parent’s appetites aren’t huge. The vegetarian sandwich was scrumptious too!
Nice casual atmosphere overlooking the harbour. Risotto was to die for!
Great dinner date night! Food was good, service was excellent and it's a beautiful location. We didn't have a long wait to be seated. The waitress was very good and made sure we were comfortable. A little pricey but a nice special occasion.
John Broderick is an excellent server. Service was so good it made the experience stand out.
WE ate outside on a warm evening - The food and service was excellent. Perfect!!!!
Love this place! The salmon risotto is THE best salmon dish I have eaten in a very long time. Kudos to the chef!
Our servers were all very personable which made it a so enjoyable. The dessert was particularly attractive and delicious and the Mother's Day tulips were such a nice touch.
Thank you !
Food and service were excellent. Calamari starter was generous, and more importantly crisp, not soggy or rubbery. Kale Caesar salad starter good, too. Scallops on Scafata was a new combination for me, worked well. Nice selection of wines by the glass. The inside room was busy, but even though we were not at a window table we still had a good view over the water.
I have been to this restaurant many times. I fee that they have reduced to a small menu for dinner. I believe in the past they had many more items to choose from, it took us awhile to pick as of the choices.
But always a great neighbourhood gathering!
Had a lovely birthday brunch here. Really enjoyed it and will be going back. Fantastic view, nice food, friendly waitress.
Was great! x
Been going here for years and we’re rarely disappointed. Overall was great once again. A couple of minor issues -the beef carpaccio appetizer was smaller than in the past and the rib eye steak was good but in our opinion is not as good as the filet that used to be on the menu.
Great food and great views. A jewel of a restaurant in the cove. Sometimes hard to get seating, but worth the wait.
Always good food, beautiful view and friendly staff
Great night out with friends. The food was excellent - scallops over a very tasty, herby cauliflower puree with edamame beans and asparagus - surprisingly good. Our server was attentive, fun and cheerful - great service. Nice to see the Arms Reach keeping up its good standards both in food and service. We will definitely be back.
Nice spot to be on a warm sunny evening. Enjoyed an anniversary dinner with my wife
We had a beautiful window seat, the ambiance is lovely (a cozy warm atmosphere) and the food was great. But the most outstanding of our experience was our server, Rachel. We had a hard time deciding which wine to have since three of us had very different preferances with white wine. During what seemed to be a very long process...Rachel was extremely patient and very very helpful. We would definitely return. The only drawback was that parking in Deep Cove was horrendous...especially on Easter Sunday! But not the restaurants fault. Its too bad the restaurant doesn't have its own parking.
So happy scallops are back! ❤️
Very good food, pleasant service, comfortable room.
But why do they insist on playing music so loud?
Good food and great view. Service wasn't as prompt as in past visits. Restaurant was too loud for me although energy is not a bad thing....just more difficult to hear my guests
Visitors in town. Perfect evening.
Had a lovely evening, very good service, great wine a food, the calamari starter was delicious, will definitely be going back.
Overall, Arms Reach did not disappoint.
Service was well-timed and friendly and our waitress, Rhiannon, was excellent.
We both had the Chicken Penne dish and it was, as always, very tasty, hot and well presented. Only complaint was the music. No only way too loud, but of extremely poor choice! (Memo to Owner-Chief Dishwasher at Arms Reach Bistro, Alistair: Please change over to different, more low-key music - we are not all 18-year olds enjoying Disco..)!
We had a Plum and Beet salad that was a little bland, but lovely presentation. We both had the Arctic Char with rice and chorizo which was delicious. The wine list is uninspired, so we took our own bottle and there was no problem doing that but there is a corkage fee which was fine.
Tantalizingly food, excellent service, fantastic wine, great anbience, my favorite spot in the world!
We arrived for our brunch reservation 20 minutes early yet we were seated immediately near a window. It's the kind of place that's perfect when the sun is out! Jen was a lovely server who didn't hover over us too much and was there when my drink was empty :)
A more expansive cocktail list would be my only recommendation (there were only three on the menu), and I strongly recommend the espresso creme brulee!
