We had a very tasty meal. The staff was shorted that nite when a server called off. The bartender and rest of the staff worked hard to ensure that we had quick and attentive service. We were very pleased!
The rooftop is shut down for the whole season, the bar area was kinda depressing for a date night. Probably won't go back.
I was the only Villanova fan at the Villanova vs Purdue game. Pleasant surprise to see that game on all TVs except one which had the Giants vs Bengals game - the other game I wanted to see.
We reserved a spot via open table and when we arrived I was informed they do not accept open table. Very disappointed.
The rooftop has a beautiful view. It wasn't crowded for brunch. The bacon, egg and cheese was really good! Really good breakfast potatoes too.
We had the bacon wrapped dates- really great and just the right size. Also, had Happy Hour wine and a great salad. Would recommend and try to go to again.
Subpar food with subpar service to match. Chicken in my sandwich was tough, which was consistent with chicken in other dishes at our table. Fries were good. Simply not good enough compared to nearby options.
I thought the restaurant area would be more separated from the bar area. The food and service were good!
We had a very poor dining experience here. Very bad service, bad facilities (the booth we sat in was disintegrating), but a great place to meet friends for a late night drink. Save your food money and eat at another restaurant in the area, and venture here for drinks. They definitely staff the bar better than the restaurant.
Not what I expected. Went on a Sunday night, no one greeted us until the bartender said oh sit anywhere. There was only one server on and she was dealing with a party of 5. She only checked on us once when we just wanted the check. She was sitting with some guy at a booth chatting with him. I wouldn't call this restaurant awesome by any means. The food was good but that's about it.
Very friendly service and delicious food!
Great place for a bite with friends. Good food and good service
The food and service were exceptional. We checked out the restaurant in February, so we weren't able to experience the rooftop location. The rooftop opens in April and we are stoked to check that out! The ambiance was great and the drinks were also superb. We will definitely visit again!
Honestly, my chicken sandwich was gross but our server was awesome. I'll go back for drinks!
The rooftop is showing its age and the new owners know it! Having said that they're not apologizing for the food but definitely for the ambience, or lack thereof!
The food has never been great but always consistent...it's always been the view that kept us coming back so when pulling that thread it's safe to conclude that no rooftop equals no patrons.
Yes, it was a Monday and yes, we were the only table seated in the restaurant with two or three people at the bar.
I'll look forward to going back to the Rooftop with new decor and probably a new and improved menu!
Great place to just eat or get drinks
They do have some unusual food. I had a duck confi Ruben sandwich. It was yummy. My friend had a buffalo chicken salad. He was very happy with his food as well. The alcohol was good and I liked the beer selection. The service was ok. It was a little light and slow. I'd still go back.
I would recommend it only if you can eat on the roof. Inside is dark and not at all inviting. But service was a bit haphazard.
Had a reservation for a largeish party (9) that was confirmed earlier in the day. When we got there they had my reservation, but said that 'they had nothing downstairs - it must be upstairs'. Scott, told us to go upstairs and ask for the hostess by name. We walked upstairs and the place was packed which wasn't a surprise considering it was a Thursday night. And there was no hostess stand or hostess that we could see. So we went back downstairs to find Scott, who came back upstairs and walked around for a few minutes and then disappeared. We waited for a while longer upstairs and then decided to leave as it was obvious we weren't going to be seated anywhere.
As we walked back downstairs, I saw Scott serving drinks behind the bar. A very nice bartender with a beard asked if he could help me and I said I needed to talk to Scott. about our reservation. He walked over and said something to Scott who turned around and saw me standing there. He said something to the bartender and then turned back around. The bartender came back and it seemed like he didn't really know what to say. I asked him if Scott was the manager. He said 'yes' and I just said 'Thank you' and we all left.
We visited the Rooftop Bar & Grill in anticipation of bringing a friend there. The rooftop area is roomy, with a good amount of tables and ledges/counters for standing with drinks. Table service is provided at the area in front of the bar. At the tables behind the bar, you have to serve yourself.
We ordered one beer and one cranberry juice, and were shocked to find out the juice was as expensive as the beer--$5.50! My husband had a friend chicken sandwich, which he said was pretty good. I decided to go with the nachos. These were some tortilla chips with a little bit of sour cream, cheese and salsa. Very underwhelming.
The attraction is definitely the outdoor location with a nice view over Arlington, but I don't think we will bother bringing my friend there, as the drinks and food did not over-excite us.
The service was not good food was good the serves could have been better
I have been here twice now for lunch and brunch and have loved my meal both times. Each time I see the menu there is something new I want to try. Food is well seasoned and delicious. I will be coming back here again with friends.
Appetizers were good. Limited entrees -- and really weren't that tasty or good. Very good service. Not recommended.
Meh. Food was OK. Got my order wrong. Sticky floors. OK, but not impressed.
I added steak to my quinoa salad and it was to die for!! The hostess said her husband was the chef, she's a VERY lucky lady!!
Had a good dinner here. Nothing special. Ordered burgers and they were good. College football games playing, so good atmosphere but very loud. I could barely hear the waitress.
We enjoyed our evening out at this wonderful place very much. The food was scrumptious and the atmosphere was so nice. We sat outside on the rooftop and watched the sun set and listened to the music and relished every bite of our food. It was a Monday night so we were able to find street parking right out front. We'll be back!
We sat in the inside dining room. * if you are able to sit on the roof, the experience is 10x better *
The food was extremely run of the mill. I wouldn't go here unless you want a burger and fries. If that's what you are looking for, this is a good place.
Can not reserve on the roof top before hand but you can once you are there. I wish I had known that earlier. Rooftop is a lot of fun. The food is very simple but good.
The combination of quantity of entries makes this a GREAT CHOICE...and the festive atmosphere having Great quality food, the meats are quite tender and good having tried several. Having the TV's for entrainment is great addition. The rooftop dining is lovely, loud on the weekend due the bar area and crowd, but tolerable.
My husband and I (early 60's ) went to the Rooftop Grill after an early movie at AMC. Loved the food and the casual, comfortable, clean atmosphere! We were probably the oldest people there. We made reservations online prior to arriving and requested a quiet spot. Upon arrival we were escorted upstairs and seated at a bar height table close to the fireplace. This section has a warm welcoming atmosphere with the two sofa groupings of designed for casual conversation. This establishment is obviously managed very well. It has a clean, warm, and welcoming feel. I hope to take my daughter and her friend there soon - I have more items on their menu I need to try. Compliments to the chef!!!
So we went in on a Sunday after the Marine Corps Marathon. Immediate impression - this is basically a sports bar, with a tv every foot. Which was okay, but wasn't really what we expected. They seemed understaffed, for a football Sunday with the MCM ending a few blocks and metro stop away; clearly there were a several marathoners that had made it in. Service was slow, but friendly. Food was sort of hit and miss. It came out a couple plates at a time. My Benedict Filet was decent - could have used a steak knife and the eggs were cold, but it was generally tasty. My wife's pancakes seemed underdone. We got refueled and had a couple of toasts and enjoyed ourselves - but I can't see going back....
A bunch of friends met here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It wasn't crowded and they had plenty of seating. We were a group of 7 and they took pretty good care of us. It was weird how it wasn't crowded, but we sat right by the entrance. Still, we appreciated the service. They split up the checks correctly. I had brought in cupcakes for my friend's birthday and they brought them out nicely displayed and one with a candle! The eggs benedict with the ham was great. I got the fruit, but wish I had gotten the potatoes since the fruit portion was really small. I didn't get the mimosas, but others did and said they were good.
Good spot for brunch. In the warmer months, I recommend dining on the roof. Affordable menu with $3 mimosas - can't beat that. They could make the omelets a little bigger and stuff them a little more, (and give you more fruit) but overall, the experience was a pleasant one. We saw several other patrons' food pass our table and each plate looked delicious, so we'll definitely be back to check out what else the restaurant has to offer.
I chose this restaurant because it was close to the AMC movie theater. The food was great. Loved the vibe and I will be going back soon.
We had a very so-so experience at Rooftop. We've been fans of the food, but the menu seems to have gone downhill and the service was very sporadic. The happy hour wine was almost undrinkable.
I had a great business lunch. The avocado and lobster tower is fantastic and was only $14. It was very quiet for a weekday business lunch.
They were nice enough to allow the 7 of us to eat on the roof; it's a nice view.
first visit; food good; portions bigger than expected; nice to be outside up on a roof;
not an awesome view or anything, but great little spot to know about
We'll be back for sure
Too noisy, impossible hear each other with a person in front trying to coordinate games that just a few paid attention. Really a bad experience
