The prices are bit too high, especially the platter for 2.
Also the rest of the food prices should be reduced a bit.
From the moment we arrived I knew this was going to be bad. The service was good, the bathrooms were an absolute joke. The food was no better than a Truck stop. As for the price, I did not get what I paid for.
The sad thing is, the place could have been really good. They need to update the menu and the bathrooms( there was no garbage can therefore paper towels all over the counter and the tap lifted right out of the counter) . A little music and bring the place out of the 70's. The first thing I would do is get a new cook, a ole of carrots and a piece of cheese covered broccoli is not a pretty site.
This was our second visit. I wasn't thrilled with my first experience however I did really enjoy the Cesar salad, so decided to give it another try when we were looking for someolace for a special night out. We had my parents with us and so the evening began. Our waiter, a middle aged, heavier set man never introduced himself to us, just asked us what we would like to drink ...he never came by once to see how our meals were and was no where insight at the end of the evening. Cesar salad was as good as the first time but the meals were terrible. Both my parents had the veal oscar which neither of them could eat the veal was so tough. I had the veal parm and it was OK. My husbands steak was good. When the table was cleared the young waiter asked if he could box up my mothers meal and she said no it was terrible and tough and I was not able to eat it. He said I am sorry to hear that, no offer of a refund or a manager coming over to apologize.
I went to the washroom and there was no TP the cupboard door was broken and it was dirty.
I just don't feel that you can pronounce that you are a fine dining restaurant. You are past your best before date, outdated food , very poor service and old decor. I would recommend that you try Mondello's in Streetville or Pasquale's in Oakville or any other of the really fine dining establishments in our area to see what the customer expects from an evening of fine dining....and here's a hint.....it not just about the food it's the entire customer experience.
Sorry about the poor review but it was our second try and you again failed to meet expectations of a $150.00 meal for 2 people
The food and service was outstanding
Really enjoyed myself as did my girlfriend.
Would highly recommend to others
Very reasonably priced as well.
The waiters were friendly and accomodating and the service was good although the restaurant was not busy.....I think only 3-4 tables being served, but it was a Wednesday evening. The food was "okay" at best but definitely not something to rave about. The prices would reflect something better. We had the "Catch of the Day" (trout) and Veal Oscar. The trout was.....good, but the Veal was chewy and the crab had shells in it. To be fair, I did not bring this up to the waiter as we were celebrating a 65th Wedding Anniversary and I did not want to make this about the food. Again, it was okay, but......Our first time at this restaurant. Not quite what I had hoped for.
Excellent food and good portions for the price. Appreciate the family dynamics. Service was prompt.
I'll definitely return.
The chatauebriand for two was by far the best I've ever had.
Food was mediocre. The table side Caesar salad preparation was great, but the veal Oscar was forgettable. Should have gone with a steak.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!!! Not one complaint went for New Year's Eve and couldn't wait to go back. Now it is a number one favourite. Thanks to friends for having New Year's Eve dinner there.
Went to this restaurant after a co-worker talked about how much he enjoyed it. Maybe my expectations were a little too high. The service was a little slow and they didn't do anything extraordinary to make it a special experience. The food vas good but I don't think it matched the price tag.
Was disappointed that we made a note on our Opentable reservation that it was my wife's birthday and the restaurant (which was basically empty on a Sunday night) staff did not make mention - assume the OpenTable comments were not read.
Took my parents for their Anniversary dinner and had been there before but at least 10 years ago. We were seated in the corner near the window and saw that there were wasps in the restaurant by the window where we were sitting. The waiter go up onto a chair to deal with them. He ended up closing the blind. We were not asked if we would like to move. The menus were dirty cobwebs by the window. The food was okay but we will not be returning. This is the first time I have written a review but felt I needed to share our experience.
Old restaurant, Good food, Very good and kind service.
no kids meal.
I had been here about 18 years ago and I was pleased to see that the food was just as great now as it was then. The portions are very generous, you certainly do not leave hungry. We had an excellent evening.
Fantastic old school steak house. Very different experience from Keg or Chop. Quiet and refined. A retro treat.
Excellent service and food was delicious and well plated. The handcrafted Caesar salad is a must at Aristotle's ! Our family has celebrated many birthdays at this restaurant and we keep coming back. Until next time...
We have been going to Artistotle's for years and they never fail us. Atmosphere, food and staff (owners) are all amazing. Love this place.
Start your dining experience with the made table side Caesar salad. Best salad ever Caesar we have ever tasted. And for main Entree- Aristotles platter for Two is mouthwatering, flavour bursting, cooked to perfection wow!!!
Fillet Mignon steaks and loads of seafood. So delicious!!!!
We Will be going back.
Table beside fireplace makes for a perfect setting. We made reservations for that specific table.
Go and enjoy.
First impression is that this place is tired and about 30 years out of date. We almost cancelled when we drove up as it lack cursive appeal, but went in anyway. They didn't seem to have our Open Table reservation (they use a book).
The wait staff is pleasant enough but need some polishing. "Do you guys want anything to drink?"
They bring you very buttery garlic toast, homemade pickles and olives to start which were great - a definite plus.
We ordered the Oyster Rockafeller which were pretty good. BUT... I do not recommend the fried calamari. The taste was fine but it was rubbery. We sent them back and they said they could not make it better so likely that is from a frozen box. The salad was ok, though all iceberg lettuce. The NY steak was prepared rare as requested but lacked anything special. The Chicken Marsala was bland. I kept thinking of a brand of frozen chicken that is injected with liquid that they sell in the grocery store. The rice was fine, as were the fresh vegetables with the exception of some grey blob on the broccoli.
This is not fine dining. The salt shaker was greasy and grimy, the glass on the wait station is in desperate need of cleaning. All the wall sconces are crooked and the decor and paint is chipped.
Time to refresh the restaurant and the menu! And teach the servers how to properly address ladies and gentlemen.
I give them three stars across the board. It was food, most of it OK. Like someone's parents' house you've been invited to for dinner. Not your favourite food but you eat it anyway to be polite.
No complaints. Absolutely the best meal I've had in a restaurant and worth every penny. The service was friendly and non intrusive to our intimate dining experience, and the atmosphere was just perfect.
Aristotles is a rare gem these days. It's fine dining at its best with excellent service. This restaurant has consistently great food and the staff are just great!
Aristotles' is a great place for a quite business lunch. The rib-eye steak was large, juicy and cooked perfectly.
Greek decor brings old world charm to this steak and seafood restaurant where waiters are attentive as they serve great dishes.
If you like meat this is the place for you. Huge portions!
It was really a tired experience. The best thing was probably the garlic toast. A very average place.
The low point was the tan glop on the broccoli.
My husband and I used to go every year for our anniversary dinner (15+ years), and decided to try New Year's Eve. Totally regret doing that as they rushed us in and out. Can you believe $200 dinner and we were seated, rushed through appetizers and dinner, paid and all that in 45 minutes. You expect that from a fast food restaurant not a fine dining restaurant. We will never go back after that experience. Such a shame. Reached out to the manager, and no response back. Shame on you Aristotles.
friendly service with a sense of humour
We were looking to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday and not wanting to go to one of the chain restaurants such as the Keg or Milestones. The birthday boy is a big meat eater and delighted with his prime rib.
We also liked the fact that the music was not too loud and that we were not elbow to elbow with other guests.
We all have found the keg and Milestones too loud and too crowded. You have obviously been in the business for some time.
This is the ideal spot to take a Client and select a quiet corner at which to conduct business.
The Staff are mature professionals and certainly know the appropriate moments to buutt-in,
to move things along (Servise-Wise).
ALL around great Venue, that never disappoints.
A restaurant with 2o years of history got to be old fashioned from staff to decoration. The place give you a sense of nostalgia with strong Greek setting the first minute you walk right in. Lots of choice on the menu and reasonably priced. Blue cheese dressing on your salad is a must to try. Dinning there may give you a feeling of inside the movie Godfather.
Aristotles continues to impress with great Food and Service.
Always a great venue to treat a Client at.
The Staff are always friendly and courteous.
Great food as always, although a little cold compare to previous occasions. Unfortunately, the place itself is no different than it was circa 10 years ago, my last time there , before this past Friday. The place smells of old, and yes, one of the waiting staff smelled horribly of BO. Thank God, that particular one only came by our table once.
The food here is spectacular.
Thee Char-Grilled, Veal T-Bone was done to perfection and my partner's Chicken Marsala was also excellent.
We were in town for business and found Aristotles on Millcreek and booked for a nice meal. The service was very personal and top tier. Food was fairly priced and prepared well. Waiter's recommendation for wine an apertif was perfect.
A great Venue for a Client Luncheon Meeting. Excellent Food & Service.
The Menu offered a wide variety of Entrees.
Great service and attention to detail.
Ovearll, a great Dining Out Experience'.
Could offer more of a selection of 'Wine By The Glass'.........The push is on Bottle Service.
As always, fairly quiet; but, you do know that, going in!
We chose this restaurant for a 65th birthday celebration. The food was amazing - steak and chateaubriand done to perfection. The service staff was professional, courteous and delightful. Even though it was a weeknight celebration and the restaurant was not too busy, we never felt rushed to leave the restaurant. It was so worth the 100 km drive to get to the restaurant!
As always, Aristotle's did not disappoint. My date and I were equally impressed with the decor and dining experience. She said that she felt very special that I would have taken her to such a fine restaurant and suggested we make this 'our restaurant'.
The venue is visually pleasing, clean and sets the stage for a fine dining experience, however, the food was only mediocre and there was only 1 selection for wine by the glass. The portions were large and the prices were fair but I did not finish more than a quarter of my dinner. The service was not bad, but lacked that "something special" that a great steak and seafood house should have to keep you coming back.
The Food here is just awesome and the Waiters take care of every detail.
The Staff know how to treat the Business Clientele.
