Robin was an excellent host. Every dish she recommended was delicious. I suggest you ask for her while making your reservation.
Robyn was such a great sever! She even noticed that I was having trouble reading the menu and brought me reading glasses! The food was excellent, spacing between appetizer dishes, entree was great, no rush feeling at all.
We could not find the restaurant after riding around the area in circles. Then we arrived about 5 minutes after our designated reservation time, so we were seated pretty quickly. Two different waitresses offered to bring our drinks soon after that, but it was another 25 minutes before anyone came back to take our orders. I believe our waitress had too many tables and had forgotten about us. It was restaurant week, and they were extremely busy. We also noticed a "help wanted" sign out front, so we assumed they were short staffed with waitresses.
The ordering process went well. I selected from the restaurant week menu-ceasar salad, NY strip steak with whipped potatoes, and the mascarpone cheesecake. My husband ordered pan seared salmon with cous cous, and strawberry gelato for dessert. Our waitress overheard my husband mention to me that he was hungry, so she brought out a couple of small bowls of white beans to accompany our bread before we started our meal. She said we could think of it sort of like hummus, but unprepared, lol.
When our food arrived the portions were small, and my steak not cooked to the correct temperature, but it was all really good. My husband said his salmon, however, was "nothing special". He spent about $80 total. Overall, we actually still had a pleasant dining experience, and I would recommend eating there.
Great experience. Food was fantastic. We both finished everything— compliments to the hardworking kitchen staff!
Great Food! I suggest the salmon, mussels, any of the pastas!
Menu at restaurant differed from advertised menu for restaurant week. Very limited menu. Appetizer was basically inedible.
Place was hopping, but we got seated at our reservation time. Our server was attentive, friendly and answered our questions, providing recommendations. Food arrived promptly. The gnocchi appetizer was stellar as was the braised beef short rib. The rosemary whipped potatoes had just the right amount of rosemary without being overbearing. The wine list is somewhat limited; heavily focused on Italian reds, as one would expect. A good selection of Super Tuscans and the wines are reasonably priced. We finished off the meal with a Marscapone cheese cake and cappuccino. A nice bonus was that we we given a coupon for 10% off on our next meal. A very pleasant evening.
Apparently the menu posted to the queens feast site was incorrect when reservations were made. Changed to a very limited menu. Should've honored original menu. Service was great though.
Our waitress Robyn was great. Attentive, kind and wonderful
We had a wonderful meal. We did Queens Feast and the options we had to choose from were great. If you didn't want to do Queens Feast their entire menu was available as well. Portions were perfect sizes and the food was great. Or server took very good care of us.
Our dining experience during Charlotte Restaurant week was absolutely fantastic. The menu selections were very nice. Our choices were delicious, beautifully presented with lovely service. We plan on returning with two more couples to introduce them to this restaurant.
Also, the restaurant is beautifully designed and very calming with their color choices.
We visited during restaurant week which can be hectic, but our experience was fantastic! Our server, Robin, went out of her way to make our dinner fantastic! Always a great time! Can’t wait to come back!
I love Aria Tuscan Grill. The gnocchi is THE best. In-house limoncello is delicious. We went during Queens Feast so 3/$30 is great deal! Entree of short beef rib (very tender) with potato's was filling and veal, pork, beef pasta delicious. Tiramisu and cheesecake both perfect. Ambiance upstairs is pretty low lighting. Even tho the room was full, table conversation was easy.
Restaurant week. Service bar was out of one of the mixers to make my drink and took 10+ mins for my server to let me know then another 5 mins to get the replacement. I had appetizer finished and salad 1/2 way done before I ever received my drink from the bar.
Nice place, good food, the ambience very nice, and service outstanding
We had a wonderful experience at Aria during Charlotte Restaurant Week. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We would absolutely go again.
Everything from the food to our server Robin was excellent. Started with bread and a little dish of a cannellini bean mixture with olive oil. Our server instructed us to mash the beams and put on the bread. It’s addictive is what we were told and it was. Reminded me of a different version of hummus. Enough so, we got more bread. The carmelized gnocchi with prosciutto di Parma, shaved pear, gorgonzola cream and truffle oil was delicious. My husband had the NY strip cooked perfectly medium rare and I had the chicken parm. The chicken parm has 2 perfectly thin cutlets topped with cheese and marinara. It was the perfect portion and so delicious. We finished off with the delicious mascarpone cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake. Perfect for or date night.
We went for Queen’s Feast week, and the food was delicious! Our server, Robin, was amazing as well!
I came here for an anniversary with my boyfriend. And they sat us at a table in a nook which was perfect! Our service was top-tier and we were also greeted by multiple people who cared about making our experience enjoyable. The food was awesome and they had live music and great wine. Ambience was a 10 out of 10. What more could you ask for? Will definitely be back!
It was really lovely! A little loud but everyone was so nice and accommodating!! Food was delicious - the restaurant week menu was a little limited (changed menu from what was initially published). But overall a really great experience. They validate parking in Bank of America parking garage. 😁👍
My fiance and I ate there with another couple for restaurant week. I don't eat meat or poultry and when we picked this spot to try they had a non-meat entree listed. They had removed that entree, which I had been looking forward to dining on, and instead I was given pasta carbonara minus the bacon. It was pretty much pasta with cheese sprinkled on top. My meal was not a good deal for $30! I had a small Caesar salad which was fine, and a chocolate mousse dessert which was fine, but honestly, the meal was worth about $15. Very disappointing to have them change the menu before we dined.
Tonight we dined at Aria Tuscan Grill for the first time, and definitely not the last time! We chose this place off of the abbreviated restaurant list for Charlotte restaurant week because our favorite restaurants were not participating this time and we wanted to make the most of this occasion! We started with the caramelized gnocchi, Caesar salad, and cheese and meat board. The gnocchi and salad were delicious but the cheese and meat board was AMAZING! It had Caciocavallo (Cow’s Milk, Firm), Gorgonzola Dolce (Cow’s Milk, Soft Blue),Robiola (Triple Cream: Cow, Sheep + Goat, Soft), House Made Parmigiano Gelato, Calabrese Salami, 600 Day Aged Prosciutto di Parma, Seasonal Pâté, House Made Sea Salt Focaccia and could have been a meal in itself. The entrée was the braised short rib and the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. The Tagliatelle alla Bolognese was a mouth full of deliciousness and the short rib was very tender and if any one component of the dish was missing it would just be a beef dish at IHOP. Dessert consisted of a mascarpone cheesecake, which was light and not sickly sweet, and a dark chocolate truffle cake which paired very well with the Côtes du Rhône red wine that accompanied the meal. we will return to explore other dishes on the menu!
Great food and service
The service was amazing and the beef rib was delicious!
It was extremely uncomfortable sitting upstairs where it felt like there was no air circulating. It was supposed to be a nice evening and the downstairs level felt more cooler than the extreme heat above it.
Three friends and I dined at Aria this past Thursday during Restaurant Week. The food was delicious. The timing of when each course was served was well done - not rushed and not too slow! A nice Italian dinner.
My husband and I were on a date night and chose to try this restaurant. We initially intended to go for restaurant week, however we did not participate in that menu and ordered as usual (a la carte). The Berry Sugar Rush was a well balanced beverage. The marinara sauce was fresh and fragrant for both the meatballs and lasagna. Everything tasted great! I ordered the tiramisu to-go and it was amazing! Will definitely return.
If there is one thing that is against this place it's the stair climb to the second floor! Otherwise the staff and food was excellent.
I would like to see a few more wines, from the very extensive list, made available for by-the-glass. I like to try several wines during a meal out.
Despite the haul of food from the first floor, all food arrived hot and ready to eat eat. Our server, Lauren, was excellent.
Food was outstanding, as always! Service and Overall Experience was Great.
Our server Robin was excellent. She gave great recommendations and made the night special for my date and I. Robin, the drinks and the food get 5 stars.
I do have two pieces of feedback-first, the tables are too close together. I nearly had to sit in the lap of an unsuspecting stranger in order to sit at my table that shared a common bench. A few more inches between would make that experience much more comfortable. Secondly, my reservation was for 8:45. I called at 8:43 to inform the staff i was running about 10 mins late and in response the person told me the kitchen closes at 9 and paused to wait for my response…. The kitchen may close at 9, but if this was such an issue, there shouldn’t be 8:45 reservation because even if I had arrived perfectly on time, The likelihood of me being seated and ready to order food by 9 is very slim. After me questioning why they offered a late reservation if there was such a rush, The person over the phone eventually said as long as I was in the building by 9 I would “be good.” This interaction started my experience off with a poor taste in my mouth and I nearly took my taste buds elsewhere. Good thing Robin was my server. I had forgotten the whole thing…..but I have taken the time To share this experience because it bothered me. Next time, that person should express what is needed from Me a late, but super eager guest upfront. I realize I was late but every nice restaurant extends some sort of grace period (usually 15 mins) and I did my part to call….so instead of being greeted with inuendo to not even bother to come, the person should have said “no problem, but we’d need you to arrive by 9pm in order to accommodate you.” That’s all I wanted. Rant over.
Went to Aria for the first time. Excellent Staff plus Excellent Food equals an Outstanding Restaurant. Our dinners were great, The lamb shank fell off the bone, the caramelized gnocchi was to die for! Cocktails were superb! Top offed by a chocolate truffle cake! Buon Appetito!
Service was wonderful--the hostess, bartender, manager and server all top notch!
Gnocchi appetizer was REALLY good & just the right size for an appy. Tagliatelle w/bolognese was really good. Plenty of sauce, pasta al dente. Yum! I'll be back again!
We had the Queens Feast for restaurant week, it was amazing! Big portions! Great wine list!
Lamb shank was delicious. Chicken parmigiana— have had better!
Anniversary dinner. Chose Aria for Queen’s Feast, based on the published Restaurant Week menu. Had the old bait and switch. They changed the offerings after we made our reservation. Very limited options. I don’t think restaurants should be allowed to remove the menu items after it is published on the website.
Took advantage of the restaurant week promotion: excellent value and the food was delicious. Service was good.
Our server was Robin. Great hostess! I really enjoyed my date& the server was amazing. Very informative, had knowledge of the menu , able to help at every turn. Wonderful job. I’ll be back
Best restaurant in Charlotte.
The restaurant was very nice. It had cloth table cloths. The waitress (Lauren) was very friendly, and a good waitress. The food was fantabulous. The prices were good. I would definitely go back.
I normally LOVE Aria but last night was certainly "off". I hope the chef team didn't change during the pandemic but all of our meals were not the fantastic meal we typically get. I had the Pasta Al Nero and half my mussels had no meat (and it wasn't loosened elsewhere in the pasta), very tasteless dish, the pasta was slightly overcooked. My husband did not receive his entree (I think it got lost) and received his salmon when we were all 3/4 through. Our server was fantastic and the manager was apologetic. I'll return because of many great past experiences.
