The food was wonderful, as always. The meatballs were really good and the pasta was cooked just right. Our server was attentive.
The best experience I’ve had a restaurant thus far in Charlotte, and I’ve lived here my whole life.
We had a fabulous meal in the private kitchen room. Service was fantastic, food was amazing. We love this place!
The food was delicious. The service was slow. The messed up our order.
The food and service were good but the lighting is not good. It’s very dim and many people need to use the flashlight on their phone to read the menu.
SPECTACULAR! A must when in downtown Charlotte. Felt like I was in Italy.
Great food and great atmosphere
We were in town for a concert and ask a friend for dinner recommendations. He recommended Aria with no hesitation. We found it just as he said with great food and atmosphere that doesn’t break the bank. We are not in the downtown are often, but Aria is definitely a return trip!!
Food is really good. Service is great to start but two times in a row can't find server to refill water or drinks at end of meal and both times had to get check from a different server.
From the first conversation with the hostess, it seemed we were an annoyance, though I’m not sure why. It seemed as is there wasn’t enough wait staff. I don’t even think our waiter ever came by to ask how we were, only if we wanted more drinks. It took so long for my husband’s second drink (a beer!) to arrive, that we were leaving. Also, my chicken Parm was burnt. I had high hopes after good friends gave rave reviews, but it did not meet expectations at all. I regret choosing to celebrate my milestone birthday there. Two positives- the music and sauce on chicken were good.
Service was terrible until i had to talk to a manager on duty. After that is was better but but the fact that no one knew the problems, i.e. ran out of drinks, didn't take away our appetizer dishes and walked by several times without noticing us was disturbing. The place wasn't that busy either. Can't suggest this place to anyone at this point.
Our pre-symphony dinner Saturday evening was outstanding in every way. We always enjoy Aria but this visit was the best. Heirloom tomato soup was rich and flavorful. My wife had the eggplant entree that had her wanting to lick the plate. My crab linguini was full of sweet crab meat, and the linguini and sauce were outstanding.
Great food, great service. Always good for dinner before a show.
Bar was unavailable due to a private event—not cool
Great lunch options. Not too pricey. Ambience is nice but noise level is pretty loud.
Delicious pasta with impeccable service makes Aria a great place for lunch uptown.
In summary... Bland! We were looking forward to a relaxing evening in our never ending quest for great Carbonara! The ambiance is nice enough, and we were seated in a corner of the restaurant which worked out well... as far away from the singer as possible. The noise level was still beyond energetic... so good luck having a conversation during dinner. Our server was knowledgeable and recommended a great Italian Barolo to accompany dinner. Off to a decent start. We started with some meatballs as a baseline... and they were OK... decent in flavor and good combination of meats just a little dry and course in texture. The tomato sauce was just ok. Then of course we had the Carbonara and tried the Black Ink linguine with crab. While both dishes looked fantastic, the flavor was a complete disappointment. The sauces were bland to the point of virtually no taste which is a shame! And doubt the pasta was made in house either. Overall not an experience we will repeat... So the search continues...
Great night out with awesome food!
It was great
I would have appreciated it if they would have informed me that the main restaurant was closed that night. We were seated in the upstairs bar area and had to walk around the block to get there.
We were there for an executive dinner and were sat at the Chef's Table in the kitchen which was amazing. There did not seem to be a ton of energy in the kitchen however, but Lucky, our server was AMAZING. Lucky was energetic, on top of things, and made the experience that much more impressive as he did not write down a thing and had everything correct and on time! AWESOME SERVICE!
The food was amazing as always. However, service was a little off. Lucky is a great waiter but is spread way too thin.
Our first visit and definitely on our favorite list. A waitress at another restaurant we frequent when going to the Belk or Knight theater recommended Aria and we are so glad she did. Eddie was a great waiter and the young lady he was training was top notch.
The food was delicious. I had the papparadelle and my husband the chicken Parmesan. Both were delicious. The pistachio cake was Devine!
So easy to park, fine and get to the show. I can’t wait to go again.
Great overall but not quite as good as our first visit. Our server was very upbeat & knowledgeable. The feature was good but not great. Wine choice good but not great and I missed having a real wine glass. I would also recommend a hostess check-in on upper level instead of having to redirect everyone who walks in down the stairs. Did not appreciate having to walk down the stairs & then all the way back up to where we were seated.
My very favorite restaurant. Arias never disappoints!
We, unfortunately, were very late for our reservation and so our table was given away, which we completely understood. They were able to sit us pretty quickly at an open table. Our server came over and asked if we wanted sparkling, still, or tap water and didn’t really give us a chance to order anything else to drink. He was prompt in taking our orders and the food came very quickly which was great since we were going to see a show at Belk Theater. We both ordered the chicken Parmesan and while the tomato sauce was flavorful and well seasoned the chicken was quite bland and the sauce could not make up for the lack of seasoning for the chicken. I would definitely come back, especially if I am seeing a show, but would probably just stick to the pasta. It is extremely convenient to Belk Theater.
We love Aria for special occasions, dinner before a show, or just a night out.
Our waiter Lucky, did an outstanding job. Good suggestions, accurate info. We were very pleased with the food. Nice wine selection. Dessert was even better. We are coming back for sure!
Service was friendly but took 2.5 hours for a single course meal. It took 30 minutes to get my drink, and I was ready to leave long before my food came out. Two plates with my party needed to be returned to the kitchen, as they were undercooked.
Great service. They were very busy. Food was delicious
The food was good. The server worked really hard, but I feel that he had too many tables. Bar service was awful. Took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine.
Our waitress was great and answered all my questions about the wine. She also made sure we were finished before show time. My gnocchi was excellent, as was my husband's chicken cacciatore. Our dining partners wanted to split a salad and entree and the staff handled that well.
This was our third visit here; this time before a Thursday night Panthers game. It was very crowded because there was also a show at Blumenthal. We ordered mussels to share as an appetizer. They were rather small, although the red sauce was very flavorful. I had scallops with roasted corn risotto & basil pesto that was very good, although at $30 for 3 scallops at bit steep. My husband had the pasta al Nero which consisted of black linguine with lump crab & melted leeks which was very good. I’ve tried to order their signature dish, chicken cacciatore several times, however they’re always out of it.
Everything was as it should be. Food was delicious
Reasonable prices, very good food and lots of delicious options. Fun cocktails and the bread is fabulous. I found the lighting to be a bit dark. We had theater tickets and they are right at Blumenthal so very convenient!
Waiter took the order promptly. Said he would be back with water. Second server brought food, and we asked for water again. After a few minutes, headed to the hostess station to ask for water. Waiter reappeared with 2 bottles of water. He set one down on our table & then turned around to pour waters for the other table. Didn’t return until he brought our checks.
Great place for Tuscan. Food good and service wonderful. Noise coming from bar area but not unbearable.
We often don't go out for Italian since I cook it a lot at home. But while visiting Charlotte, I found this and was intrigued by the menu. Delicious! Loved the atmosphere, hostess was delightful, and our waiter Harold was terrific.
I much prefer dining upstairs than downstairs. It's much quieter and more intimate. Allows for easier conversation. The food, service and ambiance were great!
