Aria's venue is perfect restaurant to plan together a dinner (either before or after) an evening performance at The Jazz Room, around the corner. Ambience is very nice, casual yet sophisticated. Meals and service were perfect. Will definitely be a repeat for us.
A great place to go if you want to hear bad singers screaming into their microphones all night and not get refills on your drinks.
This was our second visit; the first being during Restaurant Week. Or previous meal was over the top good!! This visit I had the king salmon special which was rather bland; it had no seasoning or much taste at all & was very disappointing. My husband had the pasta al nero with crab & melted leeks which was excellent. We also ordered mussels in a red sauce to share for an appetizer & they were rather small (although the sauce was very good).
Fantastic service and food! Highly recommend to all. Right next to the Belk Theater.
Wouldn’t go there again. I was eating alone and it was obvious that the restaurant staff was only interested in bigger parties and so I was an afterthought. The food was not worthy of the price charged. The lamb chops were barely cooked in places and the vegetables were over salted. Total disappointment.
When we were seated the hostsEd’s was very pleasant. Once we sat, I ran to get washed up, came back, my date went to use the bathroom, came back and still no one approached our table. I finally ask an employee walking by who our server was and they rolled their eyes and said, “ Oh, you have Paul. I am so sorry, I will get him.”
Paul was pleasant. We placed a drink order, our appetizers, and meal all at the same time since we felt like this was going to take a while. We received our appetizers and not our drinks. We had our appetizers but had to ask for bread, still no drinks. We received our dinner and still no drinks. I finally saw Paul and asked him for our drinks. He apologized and then another man brought them.
As we finished our dinner, I caught Paul and told him how good the meal was. We had some small talk and we asked for a to go box and he went off to get it just after dropping our check off at the table. We wanted to get coffee and desert but at that point we just wanted to leave. I paid the check and had to ask again for the to go box.
The food and atmosphere was superb but the service has a lot to be desired.
The food simply wasn’t good. After receiving our food and realizing that, we wanted to speak to our server about alternative options but we didn’t see her again for 20-25 minutes. When she finally did return, neither her or her manager seemed interested in solving the issues.
For the most part, the food was excellent. The gnocchi was quite gummy and sticky, which was disappointing, but we enjoyed the rest of the meal. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the live music was pleasant without being loud and distracting. The weakness was service. The waiter was inattentive, and we had to request water several times. Rather than observing and timing the courses, he would ask if we were ready for our next dishes as he rushed by the table. He did seem to be covering quite a number of tables, so perhaps it was just a busy night. We enjoyed the experience and will likely return, hopefully for a night with slightly better service.
Great value and it server Lucky was extremely knowledgeable and helpful
First time at Aria was amazing! Boyfriend’s mom was in town seeing Charlotte for the first time and I found Aria on Yelp. We were a few minutes late to our reservation but were seated without any trouble. We ordered two lasagnas and spaghetti.. chocolate budino and tiramisu for dessert.. all delicious! Our server Robin was very attentive and friendly!
Order the gnocchi appetizer!!!!!
Gabrielle was awesome and excellent server. Food was delicious as usual! It’s a great place for a lunch and good conversation!
Excellent food prepared from a variety of selections. Wait staff and seating hostesses were hospitable, courteous and efficient.
Fantastic restaurant, always awesome. Great food, service, cocktails, amazing well priced wine list. Highly recommended for large groups. And a usual date spot for me as well. Who's single? Lets go.
We had a gift card that we wanted to use. Reservation was easy, restaurant was not packed at all.
Our server was extremely polite and we had a blast with her during our experience.
Food was excellent. Waitress seemed overwhelmed and was not very attentive to our table. Never offered to refill drinks and very slow to brings things to us.
We love Aria, and have been coming here for years. The Restaurant Week offer is phenomenal in that you can choose from the entire menu, but the portions are smaller (which is perfect when getting both an appetizer and dessert). This is one of our favorite Uptown restaurants!
We go to Aria regularly on play nights and tried it during restaurant week. The choices were outstanding and food was excellent. Our server was Lucky and he did an outstanding job.
outstanding in all regards. Best value in queens fest.
My husband and daughter were celebrating my birthday with me. Since it was restaurant week, I suspected they’d be busy but did not expect the noise level. The noise from conversations across the restaurant was extremely loud but the sound from the singer and guitarist made it really bad. We could not carry on a conversation.
Our waiter admitted he was new when I asked him about several wines. He had no idea about any if them.
On a positive note, the food was very good.
My only complaint was we sat at a table on the corner at the edge of top of the stairs (not the best description but the best I can do). It was not a table I would ever like to sit at again. Otherwise, love this place. We’ve been here several times and would go back again and again.
Great wine list! The waiter was knowledgeable of wine and provide excellent service. The restaurant had wasn't full for a Friday so that may have helped. The Express Lunch was excellent and served quickly. Overall, a great experience in downtown Charlotte!
We went to Aria for the Queens Feast, so having the full menu available at the special all-inclusive price was very attractive, as many restaurants only offer limited menu choices during this event. We arrived 30 minutes early but were seated immediately, which was a nice touch. The food was good but not amazing. My Roasted NC Trout was a little skimpy and the green beans in the Summer Succotash were were quite fibrous. My husband said his Canoli dessert was nothing special. The service was wonderful, even though our server was a little over-the-top at times. The wine menu is amazing if you know a lot about wine but I'm sure we could have asked for recommendations if we had wanted to. We will definitely go back and take guests there but I think we'll have to remember that it's upscale Italian food rather than fine dining.
We tried Aria Tuscan Grill during the Queen's Feast, when dinner was $30 per person. We were greeted promptly and courteously, and waited on professionally. The menu had so many wonderful options it was hard to choose. The food was fantastic (loved the caramelized gnocchi appetizer!), and our waitress (Katie) was professional and friendly.
We may not have chosen Aria if not for the Queen's Feast deal, but we'll definitely be back. The location is prime, right in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, and the experience was top-notch.
We were a party of 5 and we were seated at a table in the kitchen. Service was as good as the fabulous food. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing service! Definitely try this place out. The bread that they bring out is so fresh and delicious. I hope to come back when I go back to Charlotte.
Wanted to try Aria so why not.during Queen's Feast? Overall, the food was good but left more to be desired from the entire experience.
-My wife ordered the muscles. Delicious broth (didn't know you could do a red or white but we chose white (customary)), some muscles still grainy from sand.
-I had the caramelized gnocchi. While the gnocchi was soft and pillowy, there was barely a speck of sauce on the plate. Really wish it had more flavor.
-We both opted for the scallops with corn risotto. It was FANTASTIC. Best part of the meal by far.
-My wife had the marzcapone cheesecake, while I had the cannoli. Cheesecake was fine (nothing especially out of this world); cannoli filling had lemon in it, which threw me off.
-Very busy and very loud on a Tuesday
-Our waiter was nice but probably had one too many tables because we sat for 10 min before he came over to tell us he'd be right with us. Wife didn't have utensils for about 20 min. Other than that, he was funny and attentive.
-They were out of not one but two beers on the menu that I wanted. The waiter offered me another but charged the extra $$ between that and the lower-priced ones I requested.
Always have a wonderful time at Aria. The staff is attentive without being overbearing. The food is delicious (ALWAYS). The restaurant is always clean and tidy, with a wonderful ambiance.
Very enjoyable evening. We went with the special Queen's Feast menu. Each dish was presented very nicely and was delicious. Our server Gabrielle was very knowledgable not only about the food but also wine and drinks. Definitely a place to go back to.
We attended for Restaurant Week, as travelers through Charlotte. We had our teens with us, so we wanted to go someplace that would work for all of us - and Aria certainly delivered. Also, the Restaurant Week deal was great and offered a lot of variety. Wish I could have tried even more items!
Very nice - food and drinks were great
The food as always was amazing!!!
I wish we would have requested Lucky
For our waiter. The waiter we had was OK but not very attentive. Juliana will greatly be missed Just like we miss seeing David.
Even though it was part of restaurant week the noise level was the loudest we have ever heard instead of enjoying a pleasant dinner with pleasant music... The food was absolutely delicious and I think It reflected the Price unlike other restaurants in Charlotte. Aria,... I'm sad to see that next door will be serving small plates. Even though it is trending it is never a good value it's only trendy. You should stick with what you know works.
Open table told me that you only had and 8:30 reservation available only to find that you had 3 empty 4 tops that stayed empty for one hour. The restaurant could have pleased more people had open table been more accurate. I actually made reservations through open table and it told me 830 was available.... We walked in at 6:45 and was seated.
This is the 3rd time it has happened with using open table... Looks like I would have better success at just showing up at a restaurant.
Band was wonderful!
Amazing experience. Food was delicious, from the appetizer to the dessert. I have nothing to complain about.
We enjoyed ourselves, already have recommended Aria. We were placed at a table for two on a landing between lower & upper levels. From a noise level perspective it was ideal for us. The service was excellent. The selection of wine by the glass was very good.
Went during Restaurant week. Food was great, nice server.
Very nice place for family , friends or just couple , love the food and drinks very awesome!!!and live miusic!!!
Went during Charlotte restaurant week— it was busy and our service was not great. The good was amazing though and we did receive an apology for the service not being really good— apparently no one was assigned to our table for some reason.
The food was not as good since we were there last. They profile their customers when you go up to the front check-in. They took one look at us as an older couple and sat us on the second floor at the very back of the restaurant with the rest of the older couples. It was obvious where they seat older couples. Looking at the main dining room is where they seat younger, hip people in their 30's. Good luck with that......
