great cozy and lovely place. Service terrific (small things matter - we ordered one salad and they split it in the kitchen for us) - and the food was really excellent. It is upstairs, and quiet, and looks out over Hanover Street, so very charming.
Aria is truly one of the best restaurants in the North End. The service is great and food outstanding. The all inclusive menu is the best deal going.
Delicious food in a very pretty setting, above the fray of the North End.
By far the best Italian Restaurant in Boston. The food is spectacular, service is awesome and reasonably priced. It is also a fun, friendly atmosphere.
This restaurant is second to none, the owner Mossimo (sp?) took amazing care of us and we left our meals up to him to choose. Two of the best meals of my life have been here. Highly highly recommend!
Amazing as always
Another great meal at Aria. Wish I lived closer so I could be a regular. Excellent attention to gluten free and homemade GF pasta.
One of my favorite restaurants. We went on a Sunday evening so it was a bit quieter than a Friday or Saturday but it was amazing as usual. It has a cozy atmosphere which is quite enjoyable. On this visit (have been here many times before), I had an amazing seafood special which consisted of swordfish, scallops, shrimp and lobster. It was served over a medley of roasted vegetables and everything was amazing. Service was excellent as well. As usual, I enjoyed a delicious espresso martini for dessert :) I really enjoy dining at Aria and would definitely recommend.
From the time we walked in the door up to the quaint bar upstairs we were greeted with nothing but smiles, Gill the bartender was friendly and great to talk to. Mossimo greeted us at the door and couldn't do enough to accommodate our wishes for a perfect window seat. Our waiter Diego could not have been more helpfu,l polite, explaining our dishes we were to order. Aria will be the first restaurant we revisit when we're back here in Boston.
Our first visit and we loved it! Will be sure to visit again. Server was great, food was awesome!
The food was excellent and courses well paced. Portions were large without sacrificing quality. The salmon special was fresh and perfectly prepared. The tagliatelle Frutti di mare had great taste and the pasta was fresh and I crave more. I would have liked a bit more seafood in the Frutti di mare. Three shrimp. Four clams. Three small scallops and only a few bite size pieces of lobster. The restaurant was packed and although tables were close together it still felt intimate. We were seated for our 630 reservation at 655. We were not in a rush so it was no problem and I never know if when that happens it is an effect of not spacing reservations properly or the table just taking much longer than expected. Overall happy with experience.
Everything was great! Food, wine and service. Highly recommended!
From start to finish everything was amazing! Super friendly staff, food was incredible! This place has been on my list for quite some time and it did NOT disappoint. Can’t wait to go back.
Valentines Day on a date, we each had the special 4-course meal with their recommended wine, and it was all excellent!! I will definitely return to try something else on then menu.
Great food and service
Great overall experience. Staff was great very attentive, ambiance was great we even got lucky with a window seat over looking Hanover Street. However the noise level was very noisy at times making it hard to hear my date, (not good for an intimate date). Overall food was good, I wish I got something else other than the nightly special they were serving but that's my fault. My girlfriend got the Bolognese which was delicious. Overall great, but not the best the Northend has to offer. I would go back again, and would recommend it to friends.
This my second visit to this restaurant.....The first time, there were six of us , it was outstanding !! This time, for the four of us, not so good....... Two of us had Osso Buco and it was OK, sauce was thin (watery). Two had pasta dishes, one with red sauce and one with a very bland white sauce. Our server, Fabrizzio, was very good. I will return in a few months, because of my first visit, and hoping this past one was a fluke.
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. The service and food was incredible as always.
Maybe we caught a bad night but felt very rushed and at times ignored. It is a very small space with no room for overflow so we waited a bit to be seated for our reserved time. Will try again perhaps on a week night.
Best food, awesome staff and the ambiance is really fun. Very good pricing too.
Great experience! The food was amazing-we had the meatballs to start, the mushroom ravioli and frutti di mare, and tiramisu for dessert. Portions were very generous. Espresso only for coffee drinks. Cozy atmosphere. Would definitely return!
If you want the full “at home”
Italian experience, definitely go to Aria in the North End. The owner, Massimo, treats you like family as soon as you walk in. Everything from the wine, apps, to the dinner & dessert...TOP NOTCH
We loved this restaurant! Both the owner and server were friendly and nice. But, oh, the food! Outstanding! We loved the Truffle Caesar so much we ordered a 2nd (we originally thought just a bite for all 4 of us, but we all wanted more.) We also loved the Gnocchi with Lobster and also the 60 oz steak. We even loved the sides we chose: polenta and stuffed pepper. (Because we lived overseas and make our own authentic Tiramisu we are often disappointed). Their Tiramisu, however, is authentic and delicious! Everything we had was delicious (even the dirty martini's and the wine.)
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The setting is a nice little cozy restaurant with a pretty brick interior overlooking Hanover St. It would be nice for any occasion. I personally wouldn't think of it as a family restaurant for little kids. It's more romantic.
We have already highly recommended this restaurant to several friends and we've posted our recommendations to our FB circles. We will definitely be going back.
You will NOT be disappointed.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was excellent!! Wasn't our first time there and won't be our last.
Can't imagine there being a better Italian spot in the North End. Had the meatballs, mushroom ravioli, and osso bucco and each were delicious and memorable. Will be returning the next time I'm in Boston!
Incredible menu and we loved the chef tasting menu. They brought out almost the entire menu for us to sample and it was one of the best meals I've had in a really long time
We have been to Aria several times and the service is always top notch. We love the family style option so we can try as many items on the menu.
We had the Caesar salad which tasted like a tablespoon of mayo mixed with water with one unchopped anchovy layed on top of fresh romaine and a few croutons. Fresh, but no flavor for $12. Tremendously disappointing. Then, on to the Bolongese which I thought was a B, the wife gave it an A so I guess we'd have to give it a B+
So, salad an "F", entree a "B+" and prices $$+, I'd say there are too many other choices before I would return to Aria.
Typical busy Saturday night. Restaurant overall had good vibes and large groups for the holidays. Main entrees were a little dried out as it sat a while before reaching our table. AT is known for their meatballs and markets itself as a commonplace for Patriots players to drop by. The host, owner, Massimo is a solid guy and very hospitable. His staff worked the room masterfully and no surprise why folks are raving about the experience. Overall 4.1/5
Amazing experience as usual!!
From start to finish this was top notch. The best meatballs I have had since forever. I would have been satisfied with a loaf of bread and the sauce the meatballs were in. Split the bolognese pasta dish as an app - terrific as well. Finished off with a terrific grilled scallops dish - I'll be heading back next time I am in town.
Everything from start to finish was great. The food, the wine , the service.
Best gluten free bolognese I’ve ever had! Service was also phenomenal. Ambiance was so cute and romantic.
I love this place. The food is mind blowing. The only way to go is the fare de viaggio.
Delicious meal and a fantastic menu. The price fixe option with the wine flight was great, as usual. Massimo always makes sure you have a good time. Attentive, professional service. The food; lemoncello shrimp, salumi with truffle honey and the meatballs and a fresh crispy insalata was a great start. A couple of foodies in our party were wondering why they had not been there before. It was about to get better with the bolognese, osso buco, veal chop, rib eye, and swordfish special. It is very obvious that the kitchen knows what they are doing. We had a good argument about the best dish and favorite glass of wine. We look forward to settling it at the next visit.
Simply amazing from owner to every staff. Can't wait to go back!
We go to the North End for dinner 4-5 times each year, which is not enough frankly. This was our first trip to Aria, it was outstanding. From being greeted at the door and given the heads up on how timing was running for our reservation (on time) to the familial way the staff treated each other and us, to the food which was absolutely amazing. I had a home made cavatelli with sausage special, it was probably the best thing I've eaten in 6-months if not this year (I travel a ton for work and frequent high end restaurants regularly).
It's a pretty small place, they had a party of about 10 in there with us at the same time and the rest of the restaurant was full, no delays, no issues, larger party had zero impact on our experience.
Aria Trattoria is our new favorite place in the North End, probably even in Boston.
I was brought up in an Italian Family, my dad was born in Italy . From the same region as owner, these meatballs were the best I ever had!! All the food was authentic, Pinot Grigio was fantastic !!
