Had a team dinner while in Toronto for our company Tech Summit. Two things kept this from being a 5 star review: Very noisy and at least half of our group of 11 had to order something other than what they initially chose because the restaurant was out of many entrees. Having said that, the food we did get was excellent and the service was great!
Asked to switch tables twice
Told to sit at a table with someone I didn’t know
Brought the wrong drinks twice
Talked about a nut allergy and brought nuts twice
Brought the wrong cheese appetizer
And got one entree wrong
Worst meal and a long time, and not great to entertain clients like this.
Great place to stop before a concert at the ACC
Service was very prompt and attentive. Food was very good. Nice wine selection by the bottle. Would have liked some whites from California in the by the glass selection.
Very excellent food and service . Portion sizes are small but quality very outlays the quantity
Good food, but the beer selection was quite underwhelming.
We made a 6:30pm reservation at Aria because we wanted to do the Giro d’Italia. After making our way through downtown madness in the midst of a maple leafs game and finding a parking spot for $26, we finally arrived at Aria.
We came in and asked for the Giro d’Italia menu which wasn’t at the table. When the server came back she told us the manager said it wouldn’t be available until 7pm “because of the game”, no idea what the Giro d’Italia event had to do with the game. Although we didn’t like the news, we decided to wait until 7 for the menu... just to be told, 10min later by a different waitress that the manager said that it wasn’t going to be available until 8pm.
This was absolutely disrespectful, no communication between staff either, no heads up when the reservation was made or confirmed the day before. This restaurant was committed to the Giro d’Italia event and did not deliver.
We stood up and left, we were in other Italian restaurants as part of the Giro d’Italia and they were absolutely lovely. I’d never go to Aria again in my life nor recommend it to anybody, go instead to any of the other 14 Italian restaurants from the Giro d’Italia and you’ll be ok.
I have been to Aria on several occasions in the past and both the service and food have warranted returns and recommendations to others. But on this occasion, there was an inexcusable lapse in service, primarily out of the kitchen. One hour from order time to main is unacceptable. All was made well by an accommodating manager who apologized and offered to make our next dining experience at Aria consistent with those of the past.
Food was ok but portions small and pricey. Service super slow. Went before a Raptor's game, ordered at 6pm, got appetizer quickly likely cuz no cooking required (meat & cheese board) But mains came at 7.20pm after 3 repeat reminders to the waitress that we needed to go.
Food was great. Servers were attentive. The restrooms were outside which was weird.
Always a great meal! Alessio and his staff always deliver amazing hospitality !!
We were excited to go and try their pre-fixed menu they were doing and we were highly disappointed. Upon arrival the host was very kind and although I was early she was able to seat me and take my coat. The location is very beautiful and gives off a nice ambiance great for a date night. However, the meal itself was bad. Out of the 3 course tasting we asked for they ran out of 2 of the dishes, the seafood dish was too salty and indelible and the pasta was under cooked. We ended up finishing our bottle of wine and going somewhere else for dinner. I would not go back for dinner, for cocktails sure, but not for food.
My first dinner at Aria was ok. The wait staff was extremely nice and attentive. The food wasn’t anything memorable, but not bad in the least. I think the best this this place has going for it is the location. But it could be packed every night with either a revised menu or a different chef.
Wine list is very good but expensive. Shared porterhouse with two veggie sides was delectable! Port and cheese the proper finish. A lovely valentines dinner with my love.
usual terrific quality food and service. wine list is terrific. people are friendly. atmosphere is great if you are in main part of restaurant -- a little closed in if you are in the back by the bar -- would avoid.
Overall terrific. its my go to place down by the ACC
As always, dinner here on Tuesday night was excellent.
We were warmly welcomed by the Owner Elena and were seated at a lovely table.
We dined prior to the Raptors game so it is always challenging to get the timing right but we enjoyed a great meal and we weren't rushed.
Look forward to another amazing meal soon.
great food with great service, super friendly staffs
Great service, terrible food. Would not recommend this for winterlicious.
I don't think our server smiled once and seemed a bit annoyed when we asked for things. The one thing that stuck with me was the smell...it seemed the whole time we were there we could smell burning food and that smell stuck with me the rest of the day.
It wasn’t our first visit but we were disappointed this time .
Great food and the space was very nice as well, though we felt a little rushed. This would be a great spot for lunch but I'm not sure about dinner.
We had Winterlicious menu (3 options on each category). Good food and good ambience.
The only advice to improve: waiters to get more training on how to serve and not to mix up dishes.
We attended Aria for a 30th birthday party celebration during winterlicious. The menu selection was interesting, and the food was delicious. Our concern was the service. Our service was professional and friendly but was often nowhere to be found. We had to ask multiple times for items such as the bill, and were kept waiting for quite an excessive period of time. The restaurant was not busy, but the food took much longer to arrive than other tables who had been seated after us. This was not a pleasant experience.
If I had to recommend this restaurant, it would be on the merits of the food. The service, however, was lackluster at best, and can't imagine myself going back there in the foreseeable future.
Totally enjoyed our meal; everything was tasty and Home-Made; would recommend and go again. Location is fantastic, right in front of Air Canada Centre - Maple Leaf Square. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable evening.
Direst is not good, however, the main was really good. I like pasta and lamp even know I can not remember the whole name about these two courses
Got us in and out quickly for the Leaf game but didn't feel rushed.
Service was good however the food was not. The place had no ambiance at all, no energy, no vibe, was also quite empty for a Saturday night- which made the food come out promptly, unfortunately it was undercooked and over seasoned. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back.
I just wish there were people there when I go. They deserve to have better attendance. I was VERY pleased to see their Veal Milanese chop back on the menu!
My go to restaurant near the ACC. Great food, wonderful atmosphere and superior wine list.
We went to Aria to celebrate my birthday. There were 14 of us and though the food was good, the service was not. Our server wasn’t very friendly and was not on top of what was going on. For instance, my niece’s food didn’t come out with the rest of the food and we waited for a while and only after we inquired did he go to the kitchen to find out that there had been an “incident”. We waited another 5-10 minutes for her food. He didn’t realize they were out of gnocchi until after we all ordered and then we had to change our orders. Some of us got pepper and cheese while others had to wait and when we asked, we were made to feel like we were imposing. We often had to ask for things more than once. It wasn’t busy so there was really no excuse. Generally, he just didn’t make us feel very welcome and when an 18 percent gratuity is included in the bill, it stings when the service is sub-par.
I have walked by Aria a number of times and never considered it. I will now. The food was amazing. We had Arancini, Gnocchi, ravioli and the pork chop. Absolutely delicious. Good place to eat for a nice meal before q concert or a game.
I have eaten at Aria many times before. Ideal if you’re going to the ACC right after. This time our waitress was rather rude / unfriendly. Also our pasta (that I’ve ordered in the past) was not fully cooked - too hard and the sauce was runny. Seems like the meal was rushed. After this experience I probably won’t be back as the bill was about $200 for 2 (including alcohol). Quality was most definitely not worth it for that price tag.
Went with wife prior to a concert at the Air Canada Centre. I was pleased they were able to accommodate us as we were coming into the GTA from out of town and hit some significant traffic delays which caused us to be 30 minutes late for our reservation. Even though we were late and the venue appeared full, we were seated promptly. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and I had the veal chop. We also shared a salad and the diced potato dish as a side. We may have been hungry from the trip in and skipping lunch could have skewed our perception, but we both were in agreement the dishes were of high quality. My veal chop may have been a bit over seasoned but it was cooked to perfection. Is it slightly overpriced? Perhaps. But more so for the cocktails then the food and what do expect for being located directly across from the arena?
I bring customers here before the game. Service and food great all the time. However my food was too salty and could only eat half. Although waitress took it off the bill, it was a surprise to have this experience this time around.
Good place to go for business meal or to see a game.
The meals were overpriced.
Great location for those visiting the city. The food was good not great- outstanding services though!
Waiter wasn’t great. Fries were terrible and burger was well done and supposed to be medium. Topping were extreamly limited.
I always been happy with my food at Arias but last week was disappointing.
Amatriciana pasta was nothing better than a left over Friday night fix at home.
Never disappoints. Service was great even though with leaf fans before game. When really full it's too noisy for intimate conversation. Perhaps soft surface dropped would help
