Great setting and delicious food! We went there for my husband’s birthday and were treated nicely.
Surprised at the fantastic location, service and food that awaited us at the Argyle. It was a last minute change to our night and they were so accommodating! I would highly suggest trying them out.
Great food but the ambiance was not that great. The furniture looked like the lunch cafeteria at a golf course and my seat was so old! I had to use my sweater under my rear to feel comfortable. There was a disconnect between the delicious high end food and the shabby old furniture. I paid over $100 for a 4ounce steak alone and the atmosphere felt like a golf club at brunch.
The negatives out weigh the positives and I would not return. Positives: Excellent service and food. Negatives: 1. The corkage was $35.00, which is an insult. I don't care what other restaurants charge, this is an insult. $20.00 is plenty. 2. Noise was very high. This place needs acoustic tiles in the ceiling. 3. A large family group - three families and half a dozen kids were placed in a large table at the center of the location rather than the very back. As might be expected, the children had not been trained on "inside voices." Very noisy kids with parents ignoring them, which is distracting and really interfered with our enjoyment of the meal. Being a resort affiliated restaurant is no excuse. Put groups like this at the back. 4. A restaurant that has the best quality of beef available, which provides the opportunity to choose from four types of steak knives should have table cloths. I suspect that the knives were a holdover from prior management. A resort typically has their own laundry services; get table cloths and a new manager. The chef deserves better management support.
It was great as always. The best place to get a great steak in North County.
We went there for a Birthday Dinner for my wife. We sat on the patio with a beautiful view of the 18th hole and lagoon. Our waiter, Jesse, was fantastic. Attentive and friendly but not too much.
The crab corn chowder was outstanding. My filet was a bit overcooked and just ok. The choices of sauces and rubs were great.
Overall a great place for a special occasion.
Steak was devoid of any juice or flavor as it apparently had been baked in oven. Its exterior had been coated with some rub that had a slight burn taste. The steak's appearance closely matched the leather menu cover! Salad was served in 1/4 Romaine lettuce heads. Flatware doesn't cut it. They should have cut it up or provided steak knives for the purpose. Serving food in iron cooking utensil is unattractive. I didn't know it was campfire cooking. It certainly qualifies as a Resort Rip-Off!
The chef over works the food. Popovers great but NOT with p-butter weird spread.Wedge salad not good. Steak not juicy etc.
What a delightful surprise to find a place that even exceeds its very positive reviews. The steak selections are far more extensive than your typical steakhouses. The staff was knowledgeable and very personable and the food was great. We will definitely go back. Well worth the drive!
Exceptional service, exquisite food and drink, lovely view, completely memorable evening. Can’t wait to go back!
lovely setting. quiet and peaceful. excellent food. great service.
Argyle is a welcome alternative to noisy and crowded steakhouses. It has a more relaxed setting and the servers greet you in a nice way. Seating is varied and plentiful and for steak lovers the menu features a choice of rubs, crusts and sauces to enhance the meat. My 5 oz filet was more than enough and I thought perhaps they had served me the 8 oz. filet by mistake. I could not eat the entire filet and took some home. The twice baked potato was thoroughly baked and tasty. We did not feel rushed as is sometimes the case. All in all, Argyle is a different and nice dining experience.
Always good at Argyle. I had the ribeye and my wife had the new york. My wife wants medium and I took med-rare. The steaks were perfectly cooked. I did the argyle sauce and it beats anything I've had on a steak. Best part...the argyle s'mores are back!
Perfection. As always.
We love to sit outside at lunch and overlook the golf course. Food and service always great!
Very nice atmosphere, good food (we had steaks), very friendly service and overall a very nice restaurant/steakhouse!
The service was amazing. Our server was very professional and we had a delightful lunch outside overlooking the golf course and the lagoon.
Dined outdoors comfortably heated, view gorgeous, our waiter Alex guided us through the intriguing menu, every choice was beautiful, exciting and delicious. Cocktails and wine enhanced a special anniversary celebration. Thank you Argyle
everything good but service slow toward end of meal
The Argyle was very elegant and classy. The view of the lagoon and golf course was very relaxing. I had the buffalo chicken salad and it tasted delicious. The rest of our group was also very satisfied with their meals. I will be back very soon to try other menu delights. The wait staff was very accommodating and professional.
The only thing that was good here was the heavy pour the bartender had with my whiskey. Guess they have to do that to make you drunk enough to not be able to taste the horrible food.
Much too loud no matter where seated! Menu different from listed on website. Disappointed with choices on menu. All too sweet & sugary! What happen to beets & goat cheese & lemon & wine sauces?
Letty was terrific!
Excellent cuisine; somewhat pricey but well worth the money. Service outstanding!
Met up with my parents while we were in the area. We were hoping to have a nice steak lunch. We didn’t realize only brunch is available on the weekends.
Food was good and the view was excellent, overlooking the putting green and lake.
Would be wonderful if a lunch menu was available on the weekends.
Argyle’s food, Service and ambiance is perfect for lunch, dinner and any occasion you have in mind. I have been enjoying this fabulous spot for over 16 years and highly recommend it.
Last minute dinner reservation. Directions on OpenTable website were incorrect. We called Argyle as we were late. They held the table. We were seated in a small area with four tables for two. Filets were good. Spring Pea side was unusual and very good. Popovers were a pleasant surprise. Bar drinks were well crafted.
Food and service were both amazing! I highly recommend the filet and the asparagus.
The restaurant is like a banquet hall. For a high-end steakhouse, nothing about. The steak was so so. The place has no ambience whatsoever.
Mother's Day brunch. $98/ person. Average food. Prime Rib like shoe leather. Decent choice of seafood. Average omelet station. Very good dessert choices. Overall decent but way overpriced! $98 doesn't even cover mimosas ($20) extra.
The steaks were good but the sides were nothing to write home about.
Pricey... great food...above excellent service. We had one of our party, who had to go pick up his daughter, before the meal was served. We told the staff. The rest of our food was served timely. His food arrived within a few minutes of him returning, steak still perfectly medium rare, and all the food hot… And the root beer for his daughter. Staff could not have handled it better!
Not a pleasant experience. The kitchen and waiter staff were short on during the time of our lunch. Food presentation was great but was not a value for the amount on the plate.
Food was delicious, expensive, but delicious!! We enjoyed the water view and the service was very attentive.
Just a wanna be upscale restaurant inside an hotel. Carpet on the floor like in the seventies, chewy bison and overcooked sea bass
Great food! Very fresh! Sophisticated ambiance and very friendly staff!
Awesome food and view. Yay!
The smell inside was terrible. It smelled like raw sewage. It was even more disgusting in the bathroom. The hostess claimed not to smell anything and then said maybe it was the lagoon. Funny thing for it to be the lagoon when the smell was only on the inside of the building not outside where the lagoon is.
Argyle Steakhouse has excellent food and the staff and service is excellent as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a great steak and wine menu.
