   My husband loved the seafood stew. I wasn't as hungry and opted for two appetizers, the crab sopa and the chicken tacquitoes. Some earlier reviewers raved about both. I thought the tacquitoes were okay but found the delicate crab overpowered by the beans in the sopa. We split the flan which was creamy and delicious.

   A) They have my gin: St. George Terroir B) My spouse liked the house margarita C) The chips are great! The salsas are great! The guacamole is great! D) My snapper was very good. E) My spouse's vegetarian dish was very good also. and 5) They have my gin: St. George Terroir... and bartenders who know their business!!! Recommend if you're going to an event at the newly renovated Presidio Theatre just up the block. Also if you happen to be in the part of the Presidio at 1700->1800. Get a reservation cause around 1800 it filled up and walk-ins would be waiting a considerable time.

   Mexican is my favorite cuisine, and this was among the best ever. I look forward to coming back every time I'm in San Francisco. HOWEVER, come on - $9 for chips and salsa? You can't put a bowl of chips on the table, in the time honored tradition? Not very welcoming, especially at the prices charged.

   It was a beautiful evening. We sat outside with good friends and our two dogs. The margaritas kept flowing. The chips and salsa kept arriving. Service was right on top of everything. The food was great. What’s not to like about that??

   We had the tacos with ling cod and shrimp and the ceviche with shrimp and jicama. Both were delicious but less food than expected for the price. But we love the location and the flavors.

   Bad food and bad service. If the drinks weren’t decent, it would have gotten 1 Star. A salad looked like a child had assembled it, and tasted like it had been out for hours. The meat on a sandwich was tough and barely edible. Only the chips were decent. Service was almost like a parody of bad service. Lots of staff, standing around , acting blind to diners trying to flag them. One server (blue eyeglasses) was gratuitously rude, other staff amateurish. This place used to be a good restaurant. Now it is more like a bar with sub-par bar food. Cross this one off the list!

    We love the food here. This was our first time for dinner. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation, hoping to have more time before our performance at the newly renovated Presidio Theater and very much appreciated being seated right away. We shared the ceviche, sopas— which has a generous serving of fresh crab — the little gem salad and the roasted carrots. All were absolutely delicious and the perfect amount of food for pre-show dining. We look forward to returning to try some of the larger plates! Prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

    We ordered the chips, salsa and guacamole for starters then the tacos octopus tacos and chicken tosquitos and the short ribs platter. The starter was ample for the three of us and the home made chips and salsa was delicious. All dishes were so good. I had the short ribs and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. Out server Anastasi was awesome.!we will definitely be back

    Disaointed with greasy chips that came with guacamole. With well know chef, should not happen. However entrées were good, as well as the service.

    I had a very frustrating experience trying to reach someone at Arguello to let then know that we should be late. my friend was stuck at the car rental place at the airport not going to make it to our 7 PM reservation time. I could not reach anyone to tell them and didn't want to loose our reservation. I had to go alone to hold the table and wait nearly an hour for my friend to arrive. I wish they had a phone number on their website or a way to contact the restaurant directly

    Brunch was really really good and it is now on my brunch rotation. I had no idea their brunch was that good or I would have gone sooner. I only wish our server would have been a little more engaging. She didn't seem like she wanted to be there and it put a bit of a damper on the brunch that I thought was otherwise perfect.

    Food was outstanding! We shared the guacamole and several small plates. Recommend the ceviche and grilled octopus. Delicious food and amazing flavors! Sat next to Diane Keaton. It doesn’t get much better than that :-) Enjoy!!! Only bad thing was that our car was broken into as well as 5 others in the restaurant parking lot. Be sure to take any valuables with you!

    There are few restaurants in San Francisco that will seat a large group (12) in the midst of the holidays; we know this because we have difficulty every year. Nonetheless, Arguello accommodated us and we were very delighted by the deliciously fresh and authentic cuisine, the decor, ambiance and service. By far it was the best choice for our family dinner tradition, 7 years and counting. Unfortunately, the night ended on a terribly unfortunate note as our cars as well as several others were broken into in the restaurant’s parking lot. Several hundreds of dollars to fix broken windows and replace stolen property was the aftermath. Nonetheless, we’d still advise this is a restaurant worth Ubering to.

    Great location and food was good. Service can be a bit slow but it is usually pretty busy here. Chips were a bit greasy but other than that upscale taqueria food with cocktails.

    We had the chips and guacamole on the table quite a while before getting silverware and napkins. We were rushed to order. They were out of two main courses. The food was hastily set down on the table without clearing a space for it. One plate nearly toppled the salsa bowl.

    We love Arguello. The location feels like you are sneaking outside of the normal hustle and bustle. Parking is easy, food is excellent and the mezcal options are top notch. The chips are easily the best in the city as well!
