Arezzo Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Food is consistently excellent but particularly fabulous the night we dined there. The service was attentive and prompt which we certainly did not expect on a busy New Year's Eve. Despite its being an exceptionally busy evening, the kitchen graciously accommodated our need for special food restrictions (other restaurants have insisted on a fixed menu with no changes or accommodations. We couldn't have been more delighted with our choice of Arezzo for a New Year's Eve dinner.
We went for New Year's Eve. We were seated near the entrance. There was an odd odor where we were sitting--like a musty attic. They forgot to give us menus. It took 10-15 minutes to get menus. They never gave us the specials for the evening. They seemed understaffed. It took another 10 minutes to get water. They brought a bread basket to the table which had garlic bread and a few slices of thin crust pizza. The garlic bread was cold and stale. We had to ask for water to be refilled. The food was mediocre. Chicken Parmesan was a huge portion but very dry. It does not come with anything. It is just the chicken. Oriecchette with sausage & broccoli, spaghetti & meatballs and gnocchi bolognese were so-so. A disappointing evening.
Uninspired. We took a yearlong hiatus from Arezzo's ... it wasn't enough. Bland appetizers (all three of them including a "special") followed by tired salads and borderline competent entrees. Just meh in almost every way. What is troubling about Arezzo's is it could be absolutely world class ... all the right ingredients are there ... the execution is just sadly disappointing. Halfway through dinner we knew we wouldn't be returning any time soon. Such a shame ....
This restaurant was good but there are far better choices for Italian food in the area. I had been there before and it was better . . . that is why I went back but I did not have the same experience this time. Was particularly miffed being charged for refills on iced tea, especially when each glass was a 2/3 filled wine glass.
Arezzo is my number one choice for dinner with friends during the summer! I love being able to sit outside (Our night was a bit chilly, but they had all the heaters set up!) and enjoy the water. The wine list is excellent, as is the food. I really enjoy the authentic Italian feel of the restaurant. I'm sure I will be back soon to sit out on the deck!
It's a good restaurant with amazing outdoor dining. Took a friend for her 50th bday lunch. They promised to write happy birthday on dessert plate. Didn't. I ordered the osso bucco. It needed another 45 minutes of cooking and I thought $42.00 was high. Most of the service was good. I drove an hour to get there so I did leave a little disappointed. Dinner service was much better the first time I went.
The atmosphere was lovely. The food mediocre- some dishes better than others. The service was so bad not sure I would go back. They forgot one entre and when it finally arrived it in no way resembled what it was supposed to be- lobster ravioli. No lobster that I could see or taste! Plus it was cold.
We were escorted to our seat and the host offered to carry my drink which he spilled part of. He told me he would bring me another one on the house but I never saw it. Food was lacking any kind of flavor or spices. I ordered the roasted chicken. It arrived lukewarm, overcooked and didn't taste like there was even the most basic condiments such as salt and pepper. To add to the experience, our waiter possessed more attitude than personality. While the outdoor patio is a nice setting during the warmer months I will not recommend nor return to this restaurant.
Arezzo met my expectations for food and ambiance. The service was not completely up to par..salads were ordered to be shared and the runner merely dropped them and ran. When we finally flagged down a waiter, he did a nice job of splitting them. Also, very slow to bring wine order. I think they realized their misstep and treated us to an after dinner aperitif. Nice touch.
Great atmosphere sitting on the saugatuck river. I love to sit outside so it's four stars for the atmosphere. The service was lovely. Middle age to olde crowd. Some families. It is Fsmily friendly. We were on a date.
The halibut it special was over with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Quite good. We would go back again. Really enjoyed the atmosphere:-)!!
We give Arezzo top votes for every category: romantic, scenic, great food, but best of all is the staff, so well trained, friendly and efficient. Hadi runs a tight, but cordial ship with close attention to proper service. The veal chop Milanese is the best I've found in NY or CT.
I love dining at Arezzo when I'm in town visiting my parents! On our most recent visit, the main dining room was closed for a private event and it was too hot to sit outside. The staff was kind enough to set up a table in the bar/lounge area for us to dine at. The food never disappoints - the veal milanese is the absolute best! Would definitely recommend as a top stop in Westport.
David was a great waiter - gave good recommendations on specials / food .. Would have liked to have sat outside but it was too hot / humid .. Glad we didn't bc the thunderstorms came and all of the outside patrons scrambled to come inside . Next time though . Didn't realize they had pizza - a mix w families but all good - thought it would be more of adults only
Our waiter suggested a "very nice" bottle of Wine at $60. However, in checking the wine price on Vino we found it retails for $10. We do not mind paying double or even tripple retail, but to be charged $60 for a $10 wine is cheating the customer. The waiter suggested this wine, pushed us a little to order it. I now think that was a plan from management. Try and sell as many bottles of $10 wine for $60. We are finished going to Arezzo. There are many other better choices in the Westport area
