Arethusa al Tavolo Ratings and Reviews
What an amazing gem of a restaurant only 15 minutes from Washington, CT where we stayed. The menu was creative and interesting and we couldn't make up our mind which of the many appealing appetizers and entrees to order. We were not disappointed! The homemade sourdough bread with butter from their own dairy farm could have been a meal in itself. We started with the salmon crepes and ribs. We then had the open short rib ravioli and the squash aglanotti. Portions were generous and the food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent and gracious. I am already planning my next visit! Truly a memorable meal.
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant to celebrate our 60th birthday(s) on Thursday, Dec 7, 2017. The food was incredible and the service extremely professional. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. After our dinner, we immediately made a follow-up reservation for the evening of the 28th, can't wait to go back!!!! Len and Susan R
Great destination restaurant--the food was outstanding and the atmosphere of the room was warm and inviting. Most liked dishes included Yellowtail Tartare and Lobster and Grapefruit Salad. The Eggs Benedict and Steak and Eggs with Gem Lettuce were also good dishes at our table. We were discussing all the dishes with the table next to us and will have to come back to try the rest of the menu! This was a great choice for afternoon lunch with a small group of friends. We also went across the street to the Arethusa Coffee shop and next door for ice cream at the Dairy Shop. Both great places as well!
The food is beautifully served; European bass served atop two rods of chickpea fries like piers supporting the fish. It is presented proudly by knowledgeable wait staff who offer suggestions when asked but are never intrusive. I thought the eggnog dessert was a bit overly fussy with too many ingredients. We love Arethusa and look forward to our return in the near future.
This restaurant was phenomenal, the staff was very friendly and let us know their favorite menu options as well as helped us pick the best wine. The food tasted amazing and I would highly recommend coming here for any special occasion or date night. The food and menu were pricey but it was very worth it for how delicious it all was. Their homemade butter and ice cream was fantastic and I will definitely be back soon.
The food is really terrific--creative and delicious and fresh. We requested low sodium and the kitchen was very accommodating and the waitress very patient and accommodating. The only complaint is that one of us had the salad as an appetizer and it came in a bowl with a hollow not more than 3 inches in diameter with one lettuce leaf and a few pumpkin seeds and craisins. They really need to use a normal salad-sized plate with a normal portion. It was tasty, however, despite the minute size. Otherwise, the food was really terrific and I recommend the restaurant.
One of our favorite restaurants in Connecticut. It's located in the quaint town of Bantam, a beautiful drive through the Litchfield Hills. They specializing in farm to table cuisine, everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is professional and very friendly. We absolutely loved everything we've eaten there!
The most impeccable service. our waiter Hunter was so helpful and caring. He explained everything to us and suggested items sometimes without any questions being asked! he really dedicated his time to us, the most I've ever experienced. without him we wouldn't have enjoyed ourselves nearly as much. the food was very good. obviously the prices are on the higher spectrum i.e. very small cheese platter for $26.00 but it was good to share and experience. they made us feel special for sure with complimentary tastings of a bite size appetizer and a shot glass of Arethusa milk with a small chocolate truffle for dessert (accompanied with appetizers and desserts we ordered). they do a good job of giving great service. i ordered the beef strip-loin for my dinner priced at $38.00 and although it was not the best steak I've ever had in my life (i prefer aged cuts) i definitely could taste the freshness and quality. the sides that came with it made the meal amazing. I would recommend ordering some type of appetizer before your meal because they are on the smaller size but for once i didn't leave a restaurant feeling overstuffed and sick. for 5 of us it was 320.00 each of us with 1 round of cocktails $12.00 each so figure around $65.00 per person w/ appetizer & meal as well. overall we really enjoyed the food and service, i'll definitely be back.
Food was exceptional. Waitstaff was very good. Only issue was we got there 15 min early and maitre d sat us but made us wait until our reservation time before giving us our menus. Odd to say the least. Never been punished for being a few minutes early before.
