We’ve never had an experience that was less than stellar here. The service, ambiance, and food/drink are next level! The staff is attentive without being over bearing. The food is presented beautifully, and is absolutely delicious. We’ll be back, again…and again!

We have been wanting to try this restaurant. They are booked 3 mos ahead. I finally got an alert that they had an opening. We drove 45 min to their last reservation booking. Food was good - service was great. Their staff is very attentive to detail. We sat by the window and I had to keep my coat on. The overall outside temperature was 3 degrees and I could feel the cold on my back.

I had a carrot and ginger soup that was unique and very good. My husband had a duck dish that was okay. We ordered an octopus appetizer that was ah ok. The octopus was a bit dry.

Overall good food and very pricey. Would like to try them in the summer in the hopes they have a different menu.

Overall fabulous dining experience- out first time and we truly enjoyed the variety of unique ingredients and delicious farm to table meals that showcased their dairy products and local ingredients. Our server, Grandin, took the time to answer questions and we never felt rushed. It was a splurge, but well worth it for a special meal and evening out! Looking forward to going back another time!

Just outstanding food from the flatbread appetizer to the kale salad to the entrees and cappuccino. We’ll definitely be back. My only issue was the table we were given (high traffic area next to the kitchen and bar). Wait staff was efficient and courteous. Overall a great night out.

Incredible food and service! We are picky New Yorkers who have eaten at many of the top restaurants in Manhattan. We loved Arethusa. It is low key dining with very upscale food. The beet salad and the lobster avocado appetizer were exceptional. My husband who is a duck lover said this was the best he's ever had. My salmon, with an interesting new prep was excellent. We had ice cream and cookies for dessert. The icecream lived up to its rep as the best in Connecticut! We're already planning a return visit.

We had been looking forward to dining once again at Al Tavolo but our expectations were sorely met.

The noise level in the cramped dining room was a problem.

After scanning the menu we pretty much knew what we wanted to order save for wine. MOST of the wines on their well appointed list were absurdly priced sitting well beyond $200/bottle. We asked our waiter for the sommelier to help us decide, and another waiter (waitress) arrived. She apparently “knew the wine list”. We asked for a wine that wouldn’t “break the bank” along the lines of a not-too-oaky” Chardonnay and she asked what we were thinking. We pointed at two and asked about the varietal grape. As the wine was from Burgundy, she said “well it’s probably Chardonnay”. That was the lesser priced of the two bottles we were looking at. She recommended the other at $104. There was no other suggestion from the “sommelier”.
Ok that said, it was a decent bottle WE CHOSE.

As for the food, it was a a triumph of style over substance. Our appetizers were a tuna tartare that we’ve had before and the spinach and mushroom ravioli. The tuna was…ok. Just ok. Again, not the first time we’ve ordered it but this time it seems overly fussy, lacking clean and clear flavors; muddled. As for the ravioli, served with beans and a broth in a much too deep bowl, the ravioli disintegrated as soon as you tried to cut them, the result of swimming in the broth. If you could actually assemble a composed bite, which was not easy, it was good. A spoon would have been helpful. They should know that when serving it.

The entrees fared worse. Again we see muddled dishes, piled with “stuff”. As another diner commented, “everything seemed overly busy”. We ordered the brick chicken, which could have been good but sat upon a mound of…stuff. As for the salmon, between the sour cream and “spice” coating, piled onto more “stuff”, there was scant room for any salmon flavor to come through.

Sadly, we don’t think we’ll be returning.

I am not sure where to start.....everything we had was amazing! Flatbread appetizer special, short ribs, pineapple upside down cake....all were terrific. The service was also superior! Wish they would open a location closer to me....hint, hint! Westport CT
