Food was fairly good, service was good. Acoustics in the main space are terrible- so loud you can barely hear the person sitting across from you. Whom ever designed the bathroom relationship to the dining space should have been fired. Direct view into overly bright women’s bathroom from dining space. Door opens to dining space so you see into bathroom every time the door opens up to the dining seating. Even a simple fix like flipping the door hinges to the other side - so the silly door would open AWAY from the main dining space would help. Maybe hire an acoustic consultant to deal with your metal ceiling acoustic issues. So for the money - relatively expensive- you get reasonably good food, served pleasantly in a loud environment with poorly designed and planned basics -like the relationship of the dining room to the bathrooms . Who really wants to see into the super bright women’s bathroom every 5 minutes during an anniversary diner from a dimly lit dining room? I guess I expected better.

What a beautiful experience and an amazing dinner!! We’ve been to many restaurants in CT, hands down Arethusa is probably the absolute best. The food quality and freshness was out of this world. Thank you Peter for the last minute reservation adjustment. From the second we arrived we were greeted with a beautiful smile from the hostess. Amber our waitress was an absolute gem and so attentive. The remaining servers were really amazing. Shout out to the talented chef, you’re a genius and the bartender, those cocktails were so delish!! Thank you Arethusa for a memorable 21st year anniversary dinner.

Wonderful food, competent staff who were helpful AND unobtrusive. DEFINITELY would go back! Ambiance was 4 stars because we were seated outside and the traffic (motorcycles in particular) were obnoxiously loud - and the space needs **heaters**

The staff was very professional, yet approachable and always very friendly. The food was excellent! Every course was beyond expectations, and the different flavors of each dish made each dish an experience in itself. Great location as well. We loved it, and we will definitely be back!

My wife and I had dinner there last night for our anniversary. We tried several times to get reservations in the past, but we’re never successful so we were really looking forward to last night and it was not at all disappointing. The food was excellent as good as we’ve had anywhere in Connecticut. The staff very professional and the service was excellent. We will be back.

we were greeted right away and sat down and had drinks. our waitress was wonderful. we were surprised at the end of our meal to have a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. The maitre d even followed us out the door to say happy anniversary to us. The food was absolutely delicious and would recommend this restaurant to anyone

We just love coming here, everything about Arethusa makes for a special experience. The staff are very professional and attentive without being intrusive, and the food is always amazing. First time going to Arethusa and it lived up to a five star review. Not only was the presentation of food outstanding, the food was fantastic. From the appetizer to dessert. Staff was friendly and attentive without being bothersome. Can't wait to return.

My dinner was excellent, in particular the beet salad and the Arctic Char. Our server William and the other server staff did an excellent job serving us. The coffee ice cream and chocolate cake were delicious as well. My wife enjoyed her lobster and avocado salad.

High quality, local and seasonal menu that brings out the best in the ingredients. Service is amazing with multiple waitstaff meeting your needs and all able to answer questions. Small location, so tables are close, but food and service make for an amazing experience. Higher prices, but worth it.

The food was spectacular. The plating was meticulous and I wish I took pictures. I enjoyed my first course of lobster and avocado salad with grapefruit. It was a perfect mix of salty and tangy. My husband had the special lamb appetizer which was good but not as good as mine. Then I ordered the olive oil poached halibut which was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated but the polenta was a little too sweet for my taste. My husband ordered the tenderloin which was well cooked and the meat was tender but his portion size was a little smaller then her would have liked. The ice cream was out of this world and we live near Wentworth’s ice cream and Arethusa’s ice cream was so creamy and hands down the best I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back. Fantastic experience over all!
