Area Four Cambridge
It was okay. I do not believe the food is worth the price.
Area Four is a great place to meet friends. The open concept and simple menu makes sharing food easy and the pizza is so delicious! Great beer list too. The variety of seating makes this restaurant great for large or small get togethers.
The pizza is great and the atmosphere is fun. Good for family night out with your teenagers and their friends. We tend to go on the early side 5-7pm because it can get very loud.
Our pizza was burnt and found the food overpriced for what we got.
Big praise for Area Four for using local ingredients in delicious creative dishes. We drove in from the north just for brunch and it was worth every mile. We'll be back soon so I can dive into the clam and bacon pizza! We'd be five stars across the board, but our server missed some basic steps, the first being that she didn't know the muffin of the day. Coffee was cold and that's always a bummer unless you order iced coffee of course. Love the vibe!
Best pizza in Boston. Great tomato sauce, yeasty chewy crust. High noise level but too be expected good selection of beers and cocktails.
Love Brunch , now more options than ever and great portion sizes
For price point.
Always consistently good food
Went with a few friends I hadn’t seen in a while. We ended up chatting long after we were done with our (tasty) food, with no rush from the servers.
Hands down best wood oven pizza I’ve ever had in my life!!! I can have their pizza all day everyday, I usually order pizza margheritta that comes with 2 cheeses and basil and I add to mushrooms, sometimes I add mushrooms and olives. Also their Mac and cheese is absolutely amazing, the cheese is real cheese not some crappy stuff you get in a box that tastes like cheese. For sure I would recommend this place to many many people.
Great service, especially for a person with food allergies. Server was very careful. Pizza was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend putting an egg on it!!
Looooved the 'Not Pepperoni' and the 'Carnivore pizza. Get the cauliflower as an app. Came here for a group birthday and didn't regret it one bit.
Great food, best pizza in Cambridge!
I have been at Area Four several times over the year, and it delivered consistently great pizza with a creative twist. Drinks are great and so the selection of beers.
Good pizza, with the mushroom fontina combination being the rock star of the offerings.
Definitely go for the pizza it’s delicious. The brunch was ok but the egg options - only sunny side or frittata are limiting. Also, our overall experience did not contribute to the meal - it took a long time, items were forgotten and mistaken. I appreciated that they took a number of things off the bill, but I would’ve preferred a nice brunch. We will likely go again but not with a group or for brunch.
Pizza was excellent and the beer list was even better.
The food was fantastic and the service was great. It was a really nice dinner to close out the weekend.
Have been going to Area Four since it opened and it’s still one of my favorites. Very kind and accommodating waitstaff, cool vibe, and the best pizza crust in town! Unusual for a pizza place, they have fantastic vegetable side dishes, too.
Im sure that this has been said before but BEST PIZZA EVER. No doubt the very best I have ever had. So many interesting combinations. Prices seem a little high till you taste it food then your just so happy at how good it tastes that you could care a less that its a bit pricey. Downside? ok its noisy very high energy. Service is good not great, they bring you what you ask for quickly and without fuss, if you want to feel pampered go someone else. If you want the best pizza of your life, come here.
Area Four is one of my top picks for pizza in Boston. The pizzas are delicious (they always have a great special seasonal), great wine, beer, and cocktail selection. And that skillet cookie is the perfect ending to dinner, every time. Area Four can be a little loud, but that's never gotten in the way of me enjoying many great dinners.
The pizza tasted good, but was soggy in the middle and burned on the outside crust. You'd think they'd have that figured out by now. They have good beer and a nice outdoor seating area.
Delicious thin crust pizza! Sounds boring but the margherita pizza is always my favorite! Also the tahini beans!!
Garlic knot appetizers to die for!! Delicious taco pizza special too.
Delicious pizza! In most pizza places if you order mushrooms as a topping, they just get dried out in the oven. Here they are layered with mushroom duxelle, adding a depth of flavor. Altogether, very very good. We sat at the bar and appreciated the bartender's attentiveness.
Good pizza severed quickly. Friendly staff. Good beer. We'll go again.
The food was good, especially the zuchini pizza special. We polished it off and ordered another. We had a reservation and we were seated on time. We sat outdoors and the tables were a little tight for four people and food. The service was a little weird. When we were seated the hostess had to clear off dirty dishes that the customers at the next table piled on the empty table. The hostess brought water right away and told us about the specials. A good 15 minutes passed before the server showed up. He asked if we were ready to order our meal. We ordered and he turned to walk away and we had to ask about drinks. The food came hot and fast, but the drinks took another several minutes to follow. We had barely started to eat when the server came and asked how the food tasted, but did not ask if there was anything else. Then he disappeared for 20 minutes. Asked if we wanted dessert and left the bill. A different server walking by collected the check. We got everything we ordered, but it was all very choppy.
The Hawaiian pizza is to die for!
Area Four is always fantastic. They make their own dough and cheese, and the attention to detail shows. I always get the garlic knots supreme (so, so good) and the A4 sausages and peppers pizza. Both amazing.
We were a party of 5, with 2 kids and 3 adults. It was a great location with easy parking, green space right next door, and excellent food and service!
We sat outside as we had our dog with us. The food was delicious however they definitely need more assistance with servers. We had to wait an exceptionally long time to order as well as to have drinks refilled. The servers were very kind and good at their job just did not have enough support.
My daughter chose this place for her MIT graduation. She could have chosen a more upscale (expensive) place, but Area 4 is a place she has enjoyed over her grad school years and I think it was important to her to share the experience with visiting family and friends. We had a great time. The food, service, and drinks were all excellent. Even though the number guests in our party was adjusted at the last minute, the restaurant and waitress were very accommodating.
Absolutely wonderful as always! One of our favorite places. Remarkable fresh and creative pizza choices. Our daughter is a vegetarian, and there is always something fresh and flavorful for her. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and we always have a terrific experience. An interesting selection of great local craft beers as well.
MIT nearby, walkable to everywhere, this is a foodie and everyday good place to eat! Family of four ate pizza, mac and cheese, garlic knots and cookie dessert and loved every bite! We tried to walk off the calories after but all agreed every bite was worth every calorie consumed! This is a local and visitor favorite from what we could tell by our table mates. It pleased all of us - and it got us into a different part of Cambridge for site seeing. We loved it, and found it was walkable back to hotel even though we uber-ed it to the restaurant from our hotel to start.
Excellent food! Pizza was outstanding as well as garlic knots and local charred greens. 😋
Excellent wood fired pizza, "small"/individual size very generous and reasonably priced. Ingredients all fresh and flavorful. Slight serving accident when server spilled a bottled root beer all over my friend and his white, linen shirt; although the manager brought over the replacement root beer, it was still on the bill. Surprised to not have that comped, at least. Otherwise a lovely experience!
Always great to eat at Area Four. My guests are always impressed with the quality and creativity of the dishes. Love it!
Our waitress, Julia was fantastic. Took great care of us all night!
I brought my college aged daughter for dinner. The waiter was pleasant overall but didn’t seem to be interested in serving us as much as other tables where he was excited and charming. When he learned I had a dairy allergy, he told me what I could order but didn’t seem interested in trying to help. It felt like he just didn’t think too much of us, maybe because he thought we weren’t going to spend a lot of money with it just being the two of us. My daughter enjoyed her order, so that was a plus.
