I’ve been here a few times and I can’t seem to order a wrong thing off the menu. It’s a cute place with delicious food.
Not your average Italian place. Exceptional homemade pasta dishes and Sardinian wines at very reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect ambience... Not too casual but not too fancy. My new favorite spot uptown!
Our dinner at the Arco Cafe was outstanding. The service was superb - very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was excellent (with live music!). A delightful experience. I hope to go again.
You feel welcome as soon as you enter Arco Cafe. Pictures on the walls are scenes of Sardinia, the source of the dishes. Everything is delicious, especially pasta which is served at THE RIGHT MOMENT! We have been there several times and it never disappoints. The prices are very reasonable for New York, and no one snatches your plate when you’re not ready. It’s a leisurely meal, most enjoyable.
I enjoy this place. The specials are always the best choice, but the regular menu items are also quite good. The Sardinian takes on the food make it unique and a great neighborhood destination.
The appetizer of cheese and olives was overpriced for what u got
Good, fresh food; reasonable prices. Unpretentious atmosphere. Can be noisy when crowded depending on where you’re seated.
Arco Cafe is an unassuming place with excellent food, great service and great prices. If you are in the mood for a quiet meal with delicious Sardinian choices, then this is your place. They are very accommodating about the size of your party, as well. Oh and there's a full bar and they make excellent cocktails.
I went here for my birthday and have now been three times in the last six weeks, if that's any indication of how highly I regard this delightful restaurant. And my Italian heritage means I've eaten a lot of really great Italian food, both here and in Italy. Arco's food is as authentic as it gets, and though you'll recognize a lot of Italian flavors, there are some ingredients and combinations that you just don't find elsewhere -- and that's where the Sardinian comes in. It's such a rare cuisine to find in the States, and evidently that is to our detriment.
The dishes I've had are: Zuppetta di Cozze (Mussels in spicy tomato & Vermentino wine broth), Kale Salad (Kale, raisins almonds & cherry tomatoes with a light lemon vinaigrette), Maloreddos alla Crudaiola (Ridged pasta with fresh vegetables in extra virgin olive oil), Gnocchi alla Montanara (Homemade potato gnocchi with mushrooms & pancetta in a light cream sauce), Maloreddos alla Campidanese (Ridged pasta in a hearty tomato & sweet sausage ragout), Fregola (Oven-toasted round pasta with mussels and baby octopus in tomato broth), and the Branzino (Grilled Mediterranean Branzino filet in garlic, lemon & herbs with sauteed broccoli rabe). While it's tough to choose, I would say the standouts are both of the Maloreddos dishes and the Fregola. They were truly outstanding.
On top of the food, the ambiance and hospitality are so warm, and the value is exceptional, particularly for brunch. Their delicious cocktails are a steal ($6-7) -- I highly recommend their excellent Negroni.
If this place were in most other neighborhoods, it would be difficult to get a table, but its current location means you can have a peaceful, intimate meal without a wait or crowds. It's also child-friendly. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, and I just got back from there less than an hour ago!
great Sardinian food + great service + moderate prices= COOL place
quality fish and pasta. Nice cozy neighborhood place with good cocktails and wine. Friendly service.
Second time I've been and it's a really fabulous place. They're very accommodating (my mother and I arrived an hour before our reservation--don't ask--and since they weren't busy they let us sit). Food is great, especially the homemade pastas, though my husband complained the portions were small. Often I find places with great entrees have lame desserts but not here. We shared the chocolate mousse cake and it was divine.
Very nice place to have a meal.
My family and friends love Arco!
I love it so much that I will be dining for the third time this week tonight!!!
Always a pleasure to be at Arco!!!
Friendly efficient service. Delicious asardinian meals.
Amazing as always. When you look at my Opentable history, the majority of bookings are at Arco.
Great value for the lunch specials. The food was excellent, the service pleasant and efficient. I will definitely go back for more meals here.
Nice neighborhood hang out. Good food.
The food was delicious, but the restaurant had very few customers and we still waited 30 minutes to be served.
A lovely Sardinian bar/cafe restaurant. Attentive service. The gnocchi was particularly good and the semifreddo was exceptional.
Fabulous! This is the best neighborhood place!
Great wine value
Low noise level
The food is great, freshly made everything.
Great service would definitely recommend this restaurant
When you check my Open Table history the majority of reservations are for Arco. When you live on NYC and have so many restaurants to choose from, why do you go back to the same one? Because it is amazing! We had dinner and brunch there this Pride Weekend. When we have visitors, we take them there. When they visit again, they ask to go back.
a hidden gem. highly recommended. perfect for both groups or a dinner for 2. food and service are consistently good.
Very good neighborhood italian restaurant. They were knowledgable about their wines. Good portions and very good desert selections. Prices are very reasonable.
Excellently food made to order
We were there for lunch, which is an excellent value! I highly recommend the kale salad. The house wine is good. The pasta of the day was scrumptious. Will definitely be returning regularly!😀
All the food is good but the best things are the Sardinian dishes. My favorite is the octopus and calamari stew.
Francesca has a wonderful place that is welcoming AND the food is superb!!!
Enjoyable UWS dining, Sardinian fare a welcome change from typical Italian. A bit noisy and lacking good temp control.
Great find on the UWS! Delicious fish and pasta, feels cozy and homemade.
I've been walking past Arco's modest storefront for a while but was never really tempted to go inside. However, I recently needed to book a large party somewhere close and based on feedback and ratings, decided to give it a go. I am so glad we did! The food was amazing, the staff welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere was cozy and light. Every single person in our party said how much they enjoyed it and would be back. I felt like I was back on the Amalfi coast. My husband and I have made it our new joint in the neighborhood. So glad we found it!
I did not enjoy the food very much. The salad special was boring. The gnocchi gratinati were not gratinati but covered with mozzarella. Gratinati are with grated cheese and baked. I am sure the Chef knows this.
I will not go back unless they prepare this dish the correct way.
One of the only Sardinian restaurants in NYC. Great food mostly Italian with unique Sardinian specialties. Friendly staff
Best place in the neighborhood!
Can’t go wrong with this cozy, family run Sardinian style restaurant. We love the appetizers and fresh made pasta dishes. Great wine too...
