Small and friendly with very good, homey Italian food, well prepared.
Overall, based on only one visit I admit, this is a very good New York neighborhood restaurant featuring Sicilian-style Italian cooking. I had one dish that was spectacular (the baby octopus appetizer) and one of the pasta dishes which was good, but no more than that. The desserts were as expected and delicious. The place is not large, it is warm and welcoming, and the staff is attentive and very pleasant. There is a full bar, and the wines are largely Italian, some excellent. I would definitely return and try other dishes. A truly obese person would not fit in one of the truly compact bathrooms.
Very nice neighborhood Italian/Sardinian - excellent pasta and salads with a cozy, casual atmosphere. Very good service as well.
Perfect New Year’s Eve choice.
They are Sicilian. I am Sicilian by heritage. I can cook. They are so much better than I am. The nicest service. The most splendid food. All of it. And a lovely neighborhood ambiance as well. Isola on Columbus and 109 is very very good, also Sicilian . Arch sets a new standard.
Oh, did I mention that the entire staff is remarkably nice. What a lovely place.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Charming, small, brick wall, small bar, attentive service, restaurant-made pasta, unusual dishes, very good prices.
Food was delicious but could have been served hotter. My friend and I both had pasta dishes which were really good.
Good food, it could be hotter, consistently warm. Quiet, peaceful place.
The food is authentic and delicious! And I know my pasta! The wine list needs to be expanded and the ambiance could use a little tweaking, but I would absolutely go back. They also should not require a credit card number to hold a reservation. I almost decided not to go there because of that policy..... and the place was not full on a thursday night so there is no reason for it, at least on a weekday.
We love Arco. It's a pleasant place. The antipasto for $19 fed 4 with ample portions all around. Branzino was very good, especially the pile of broccoli rabe it was sitting on. Great wine by the glass.
Fresh fish and sautéed vegetables were a great option for gluten-free, paleo diner with our group. House wine was a nice addition.
The menu includes excellent pastas and fish dishes. The environment is warm and cozy.
Really friendly staff and best Branzine I’ve ever had!
Authentic Sardinian food ata very reasonable price!
Love this local true Italian restaurant! We’ve eaten here about four times in th last year and I think if you are looking for delicious food, cozy atmosphere and wine, Arco is it
Food is authentic, delicious and reasonable
Good wine selection.
Arco Cafe is delicious. Food is very fresh, wonderfully prepared and great Sardinian dishes.
I picked this restaurant out based on reviews and location. We had a family member interred at St. John the Divine, so I was looking for somewhere in walking distance and indeedit was nice walk afterwards for a very good meal. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a prix fixe menu for lunch (and pleased since I was taking everyone for lunch). What a terrific deal. The food was great and it was a nice place for the family to have a meal together after this sad occasion. I would highly recommend it AND plan to go back soon when I'm in that neighborhood!
Screaming child at the next table made it impossible to have a conversation for at least an hour. As far as the service it was fine when taking the order but we waited and waited and waited and waited for the right way just to come back and give us a check. Also pork dish that two of us ordered was really not very good. It was long stringy threads of pork. There was very little of the polenta which was disappointing.
the pizza has a very thin crust, which is nice because it's light. the fish is delicious, i'm interested in going back so that I can try the 101 layer lasagna
Great food, great value. Just wish the Wine
Portions were not measured drinks.
Enjoyed a very nice dinner with a slightly noisy environment. Service was attentive and quick. Would definitely recommend it, and would return
Excellent pastas; love the staff. But please — turn on the a/c. It was steamy!!!!
What a find. Food was delicious. Service excellent.
Nice place, good atmosphere and very nice team.
Gnocchi is amazing!
Amazing food and the staff was GREAT! Highly recommend
Great food at a fantastic price. The décor isn't fancy, and you don't pay for what you aren't getting. I'm OK with that! Staff very friendly and also efficient. They won't rush you to leave so they can turn the table more often. I'm OK with that too ...
Great little restaurants with outdoor seating and authentic Italian food.
Very good quality food at reasonable prices will go back again and again
Fresh pasta, good ingredients. Nice service.
Definitely a nice place, and I will go back. Daniele was very nice helping us get comfortable. Food is great, I could not stop eating my gnocchi even if the portion was very generous. Everyone was happy with what they got! Dessert needs a special note, try the sevada and you will never regret.
The food tasteless
The value good
Still my UWS fave
When visiting New York we generally stay and dine in Midtown. This time we decided to venture into the upper west side and found this delightful neighborhood restaurant. It was a beautiful spring evening so we chose a table next to the floor to ceiling windows which were opened wide to the sidewalk. The inside of the restaurant is simply furnished with exposed brick walls and a cozy bar. The pastas are house made as are the desserts. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly and helped us with our very bad Italian. For starters we had fried zucchini and calamari, tender and lightly breaded. Our entrees were spaghetti with Pecorino cheese and black pepper, and pasta with a hearty tomato and sausage ragu. Both were simply prepared but very tasty. We shared a carafe of Chianti (bottles of wine are 30% off Mon- Thurs). Our evening was a very pleasant reminder of our trip to Italy last fall and we will definitely return on our next trip.
This one of my casual go to places. Family owned with amazing Sardinian food at good prices.
Great food, quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend. We will be back!
I love this place and their Italian food is always amazing - their traditional eggs/brunch was disappointing by comparison. This will be easily rectified by having pasta at my next brunch. But still, a bit of a bummer.
Great food good service good addition to neighborhood
Quality and consistent are the food and staff at Arco.
Food was excellent
The service was okay.
The waitress knew her specials
The staff taking your plates were rushing you : You barely had finished your dish and your plate was gone
The manager did not care much to check on how we were doing
Too busy being on his laptop
