An intriguing, unusual place to dine. My party went with a courageous, adventurous spirit and tried everything from Python to Ants to chocolate covered Scorpions.
We had a wonderful evening and although I wouldn’t be rushing to eat worm meal anytime soon, I know that I could survive if I had to.

BTW the Ostrich was truly scrumptious.

Highly recommended.

I was told my booking was cancelled earlier in the day as they couldn't get hold of me - no missed calls or emails.
Someone in my party was shouted at by the 'manager' for trying to move away when his colleague spilt red wine on him.
Food ok, quite kooky in layout. Disappointed overall.

It is a unique restaurant that allows you to explore the different flavours from around the world. The flavours and spices are perfect and it felt like a rare treat to try the exotic animals on the menu. The service was lovely and very helpful in ordering. It was a great ambiance with all the wonderful decoration and its a small restaurant making it intimate. Food was tasty. Wine was delicious and the price was good value for money.

We loved this place. The decor is very eclectic and unusual, the staff were welcoming and friendly, they explained the rather exotic menu and took the time to describe each plate as it arrived. The food was very good and well presented. I had the belly pork to start, my friends had the Pacific volcanoes and the crispy zebra jerky and they were all excellent. Our mains of ostrich steak and sirloin were equally good too.

Dare to try unusual dishes from all around the world with a fair touch of creativity and the sense of fusion cooking.
Insects, snake, alpaca, kangaroo, crocodile...everything was excellent (with a special mention for the crocodile in vine leaves and the alpaca which reminded me of a recent trip to Peru)

A very eclectic deco with evey detail carefull thought. A smiling and very helpful service.
Worth every single minute there. Children allowed (they loved it)

A wonderful experience, not one for the squeamish or the inadventuros, the menu is like something from I'm a celeb get me out of here!

Make sure you try the bug salad and kangaroo, the bugs are crunchy like pork crackling but not as salty, the kangaroo is more 'beefy'.

I loved the vibe, peacock feathers and Buddha's, you just have to give the place a try!

I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant and I couldn't have been more disappointed. The experience had the cheap neighbourhood restaurant feel. The dishes did nothing to showcase the authentic ingredients. Service was really bad, cold and unwelcoming. I wouldn't go back and it is no surprise the restaurant was empty. Missed opportunity for the owners. This place needs a dramatic makeover.

As ever, Archipelago impressed my business guest and felt like a unique, memorable place to eat. The food is adventurous, beautifully cooked and very tasty. I first ate there in the old premises which were close by about 18 years ago, so this is a stalwart of the London scene.
The staff are engaged, knowledgable and have personality. My only criticism is that, given it's quite an expensive night out, I'd like the waiting staff to be smarter, especially the manager, who looked like he'd just been working in the kitchen in his shirtsleeves.
However, they do try to make the experience interesting with some neat touches, like the way the menus and bill are presented. On the whole, recommended.

The staff are very attentive and help you order some weird food off the menu. It was an amazing experience (it was also my birthday, we didn't mention this but they saw a card I opened and added a candle to the desert.) very sweet and attentive. Definitely one to remember! Thank you

You have to change your expectations when dining here; very expensive for food that isn't good quality, but good fun! The starter (crickets) was a good talking point, but otherwise not very nice. Our mains were cold and unimpressive (we had the chicken and lamb). Won't visit again.

This restaurant is perfect for anyone looking for something a little different. The varied food menu really gets the imagination going wild, and makes for a fun and exciting dining experience.

The service was also outstanding, with very attentive wait staff and an incredibly friendly manager who sat down and chatted to us at the end of the evening.

The decor and atmosphere further added to the place; quirky, intimate, romantic, friendly and unusual all at the same time.

This place is an absolute gem of London. Why had I had not heard before?? I genuinely can't recommend it enough!

Always open to culinary adventure I was intrigued when I saw the description of Archipelago under a heading of "Quirky Restaurants" in London.

Immediately impressed by the travel decor, reminiscent of tropical regions, I picked a corner table which allowed me to take in the full ambience of the restaurant. I decided to order a number of smaller items so that I could sample a number of different "creatures".

The sweet-chili smoked python carpaccio with olive puree was a wonderful combination of tastes and textures. And while eating the "love-bug salad" with crickets and mealworms I couldn't help but think of all that concentrated protein I was getting! But the highlight was the crispy zebra jerky which, surprisingly and enjoyably, was tender inside - think of pan-seared tuna with a seasoned crispy exterior. My beverage was an Elephant Mud Bath - vodka, Amarula, kahlua and espresso but, sadly, no elephant.

And of course I couldn't resist dessert: chocolate-covered locusts washed down with a pleasant sauterne.

Not an inexpensive meal but a thoroughly enjoyable one. For the adventurous diner I would highly recommend Archipelago. I've placed it on my "must return to" list for my next trip to London.

We went as a couple. The service was very good with attentive staff serving us.
The food was certainly unusual but that makes it an interesting place.
The food was a little slow but on the whole good quality. I was however disappointed with my steak as it was very tough, so unfortunately not the best steak I've ever had and subsequently not worth the money paid.
I'm glad I went to experience something different, but I don't think I'd return as my meal wasn't outstanding.

This was our first visit to Archipelago in its new setting. Good to see that the menu is just as unusual and wide ranging as on previous occasions. Service was also very attentive.

Not quite convinced that the new restaurant has quite the ambience of the old but, still, a very good choice.
