The place has a lot of history and I enjoy soaking that up when I have the chance. Diner atmosphere and eats! Family owned and operated! Great place. I hear the breakfast is worth the wait. We went for dinner before a Mud Island Concert.

Went here because it's a historical landmark the oldest restaurant in Memphis and Elvis used to come here. Service was BEYOND bad. They have the peanut butter and banana sandwich- they smother it with a ton of peanut butter (overkill) on the sandwich but there was literally 3 thin nickel size banana slices on each half of the white bread. Basically a small white bread and peanut butter sandwich for $8.25. Service was beyond slow felt like 15 min until our waitress showed up after we were seated. She was busy so we didn't blame her but she barely came around to check on us. Took forever but we finally got our salad and sandwich and there were no utensils so that took time to get too trying to flag someone down. I saw the owner walking around so I showed him my sandwich and asked is this right this only comes with 3 nickel size slices of bananas? He said "that's a sad looking sandwich isn't it?" So he said he'll go talk to them in the kitchen. Nothing happened and after more time passed I flagged down our waitress. She looked at the sandwich and said it shouldn't look that bad with barely any bananas and said she will have them make me a better one. More time goes by a new sandwich comes out and now there's maybe 3 additional thin nickel size slices of bananas. One side of the sandwich was wet and soggy so at this point I can't even eat the plain peanut butter sandwich. The owner never bothered to come back to check on us or ask how everything went. He just ignored us and walked around aimlessly. I never returned anything at a restaurant before and had plenty of bad food and bad service and I don't complain I just don't go back to the restaurant, but if a restaurant can't make a basic peanut butter and banana sandwich that's pretty sad and I had to say something. I was nice to the waitress and she was nice to us so it's the restaurant management that needs help.

We enjoyed this with family, part were from out of town. We made a reservation and ask for a good table for our company. It was perfect. A round table. The music from speakers just behind us. The waitress turned it down. Usually they have some excuse but the waitress turned it down. Because this is a touristy week for Elvis fans (we saw a few there) they added the tip to the initial bill. I was giving her 20 per cent but my husband saw the tip was already added. No one mentioned it. Beale Street restaurants also. Beware Tourists. Check your bill. We have gone to many events downtown and never had an incident but I know there is an element of society that takes advantage. Don't go alone and stay in well lighted areas. Come watch a ballgame downtown and NBA game, concerts. A lot of good restaurants. Sorry but I love my city.

Love the relaxed feel of this place. The chicken salad was great and my wife loved the French Toast. We definitely will return to try more dishes.

We spent the week in Memphis and this was truly a gem. We got to sit in the "Elvis" booth and we enjoyed fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. We also learned about the area and the other regulars at this diner. It was so much fun for my two teen daughters and we left happy, with extra sandwiches, and a t-shirt each. I would recommend this place to anyone. the food was outstanding.

My friends and I drove from Arlington because we were so excited to eat at the famous Arcade. One of the couples in our group is being transferred to Puerto Rico with the Navy and we had a bucket list of places they wanted to visit before leaving. The Arcade was at the top of their list. I made the reservation on Open Table, received a confirmation of that reservation at least twice from Open Table, and actually called the Restaurant to let them know that we had 7 in our party because I knew it was a smaller place. Imagine our surprise when we drove 45 minutes (longer because of construction), parked, and walked three blocks only to find a sign on the door saying that someone was "finally getting married" and the place was closed 6/16 and 6/17 for that event. NO phone call, NO email, NO notification whatsoever letting us know, even though I KNEW they had received our reservation. I know that things come up, but I'm thinking somone's WEDDING was probably NOT a spur of the moment thing. Pretty sure they had it on the books when I made my original reservation. Really very very disappointing, but I guess if you're the oldest restaurant in Memphis, you can do whatever you want whenever you want. If you're going to use an outside reservation service, you need to notify them of your closings. Luckily, we walked a little bit further because we were all starving (fasting all day in anticipation of the Arcade), and found the little hidden gem The Vault. Food was great, server was great, music was great! We will definitely visit The Vault again. Pretty disappointed in the Arcade. Pretty disappointed in Open Table. Open Table did try to compensate us with "points", not worth the hassle we went through.

I have mixed emotions about the arcade at the moment.
I had a reservation for Friday the 16th at 6:30... I planned it as a pinnacle point of my trip and scheduled things around it...got there and the restaurant was CLOSED!! I was not happy!

Once we were able to return the next day we did not get the table I wanted and bad reserved which was the entire reason for going.

We did however eat our lunch and it was great, the service wasn't amazing but it was a bit busy.

The food was great. Peanut butter and banana sandwich was awesome. I like that despite being an old diner they now offer alcohol.

All in all the experience was great and is a must see when in Memphis.

Nice historic location for breakfast. We were seated in a booth used by Elvis Presley. Service was very slow despite the fact that there were plenty of servers. The food was good and reasonably priced.

We took my mom here for Mother's Day. The food was excellent. There was a little bit of a wait for our meals, but they were absolutely packed so it gave us some time to chit chat. We hung out there quite a while after we had finished and no one was trying to hurry us out the door. The decor is adorable and we all loved the atmosphere. We had a 10 month old with us and they were very accommodating! Would definitely recommend this restaurant again and I can't wait to go back!

The Arcade doesn't use Open Table anymore. I was told that Open Table has been asked to remove them from their list, but it hasn't happened. I'm lucky that they weren't busy and we were able to sit down quickly. I would have been upset had we not been able to eat because Open Table took our reservation. Did I mention it was for part of Mother's Day?

Went here at around 8:00 AM on a Tuesday and the place was not crowded at all. We were seated right away and had no trouble parking on the street out front. A lot of locals eat here despite it also being a tourist destination, but I did not get a tourist-y vibe at all. The food wasn't the BEST for the price, but it was what you would expect from an old diner like this. I definitely recommend.

We were seated right away with our reservation, but waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the table to get our drink order. We waited over 30 minutes for our breakfast order, that came out cold. It's hard to mess up eggs and bacon but this was very bad. I was very disappointed. We were excited to try this place, but left very underwhelmed.

Between my boyfriend and I, we have just over 100 years of existence on this planet. The Arcade Restaurant has the best French Toast either of us has ever tasted in those combined years. The Eggs Redneck was delicious too, but we kind of wished we had ordered two of the French Toast plates. Yummers!

If you're visiting the National Civil Rights Museum or downtown Memphis, take the time to have breakfast at The Arcade.

I took some out of town guests here for breakfast - our waitress was very attentive, the menu had lots to choose from, our food was delicious, they have morning cocktails if you are so inclined and the fine firemen from the local firehouse eat their daily breakfasts here- what better recommendation could you ask for?

The staff made this a fun visit. The food was wonderful and plentiful. We ordered a custom made personal pan pizza for my daughter, with feta & spinach and it was huge, enough for at least two people. My sandwich was also enough for two and I don't remember the name on the menu but it had artichoke, roma tomatoes, feta and some kind of pesto sauce that was delicious. Our youngest had chicken strips and fries. I tried a drink called the Elvis that was too sweet for me, and although it said something about three olives on the menu it actually came with a cherry? It was a perfect fit for my sweet drink loving daughter. I love that they have a great food menu and also a wide variety of drinks anything from cocktails to whiskey can be found. The decor is nostalgic, eye-catching and fun. We will go back.

It is your typical diner which served a hearty breakfast. Nothing has been changed in decades because Elvis had eaten there. I would rather see a complete remodel and see an upgrade in food.
